It was a really good experience. The one thing I would change is having an actual tour guide at all stops as opposed to it just being you being set free to walk around by yourself . Please carry 300 dirhams if you would like Tour Guide at Volubilis because that is a one and a half hour stop and instead of walking around you could learn something. Meknes was okay, another 3hr stop to eat and walk around at your leisure

Good trip to Volubilis and Meknes

We took this tour mainly to view the Volubilis ruins. Mini bus picked us up on time and the ride to Volubilis was about 1½ hours. We were given 1 hour to go around. The ruins were ruins, not much was left standing. Just don't compare them to the Pompeii ruins where most structures were relatively intact. After that was a visit to Moulay Idriss town and mosque. Lunch was at Meknes. 2 hours given to walk around though we finished in 40 minutes, it was a small town. Overall tour was good, no regrets choosing this company. Karim the tour leader was very accommodating, he tried to fulfill every request. The driver was a careful one, not making unnecessarily unsafe overtaking moves. In total, the whole round trip took 10 hours and it was time well spent. If we had to organize the logistics ourselves, it would have taken more than that.

We booked late and they had trouble accommodating us in the group they already had, so a little bit late to pick us up. In compensation, we ended up with a private driver. So kudos for that. Ishmael was super nice and gave us good explanation of the places we visited. This paragraph has nothing to do with the activity I'm reviewing, but a word of warning to visitors: when stopping at Moulay Idriss there are people outside the mosque hunting for tourists. They will offer to take you to see the round minaret and a panoramic view of the city. Be 100% certain that you want to do this. There are a lot of twists and turns in the streets and a lot of stairs. If you have second thoughts in the middle of the climb I hardly doubt you'll find your way back on your own. Be prepared to pay a "tip" of about 50 dirham per person for this visit. Volubilis is amazing, and the 1 hour stop was enough to walk around most of it and take pictures. In Meknes they brought us to a restaurant that was really good and the service very friendly. It can get busy though so be mindful of that. Then we had 2 hours to walk around. Honestly, this seems a bit excessive. We went to the mauseoleum and maybe took 30-40 mins tops to visit. Then we ended up having a coffee at another place as we went to the plaza outside the medina and came back because there was really not much to see. I might be mistaken, but if there is more to see, this is where a little bit more information from our driver would have been helpful. All in all, since you are basically paying to be driven to the sites, it's a good price for the service provided.

It was a great day full of awesome views and memorable experiences. Our tour guide in Idriss (our first full stop), was awesome. He answered all our questions and accommodated multiple languages ensuring everyone understood his anecdotes and information. Broadly the group who ran this trip was super accommodating to the groups needs and was very friendly and helpful! Our overall guide was Othman and our Driver was Hafid, and our guide in Idris was Mohammed. All in all a great day!

It made the transport to the sites easy. There was plenty of time to look around by yourself at each stop. The guide did put us to eat at a restaurant, but it is a good one the same as the others we had in the Medina of fes, typical set menu with good service. The price of the tour is good given that is over 6 hours of time of two people looking after us.

The trip was amazing. Our driver Mouhsin (I hope I spelled it correct) aka Mumu was exceptional. Throughout the whole journey he was telling us about the region, the culture, the production facilities, etc. on our way back he even gave us 5 minutes for photos to the royal Palace in Fez. There is no public transportation to Volubilis, so it may only choice or a budget way to visit. There was no guide or explanation for Volubilis, just left you there. Brief introduction about Meknes and Moulay Idriss , but the guide has strong accent. Difficult to understand his English.

I don't get the negative reviews. Look at the price people. It's the best value for the money. Hafid was our guide on the trip and was warm and friendly. It was full day trip and totally worth every dollar and then some. The other tours were two to three times the amount. The sites were incredible. I would highly recommend this tour ESPECIALLY given the price point.

The sites we visited were great! The “official” tour guide wasn’t incredibly helpful for the whole tour. Would have been nice to get more information about Volubilis, we received none and were told to just walk around. He did give us a nice walking tour of Moulay Idriss, which was incredible. We broke off from the tour group in Meknes, so can’t give an honest opinion on that. Still had a lovely time and worth the money.

Day Trip

This trip was excellent in that the transportation was door to door. Our driver got us to our destinations safely and was somewhat informative about the sights. We were dropped off at each place with a pickup time which was well observed. If you are looking for a guided tour of each stop, this is not the tour. We personally wish we had more information about our stops. However, the transport was excellent and it wasn’t advertised as a guided tour at the stops. All in all, it was a good trip for the money paid.

We booked this based on positive reviews, but it all turned sour very quickly. Night before we got an email from company asking us to meet at Blue Gate at 9:30AM. Great, they have us in the system! We get to gate at 9:20. We're the only obvious tourists standing there, but no tourism vans are stopping for us. At 9:45 we are worried. and spend the next 15 minutes trying to get a cell signal or wifi. At 10 we do, and they say, "oh ok we'll send someone over in 5 min." They pick us up in a sedan and race us down the highway to jump on the van that is already en route. We discover from others in the group that there had been a guide who was high as a kite, driving around and not picking us up, talking crazy to the group, so he was removed from the excursion. So that's why we weren't picked up. But, that leaves our group only with a non-English (or French) speaking driver who doesn't actually know the exact itinerary. While the tour isn't advertised as guided, we all expected someone who could say in English, something like "we're at x site, it's check out a, b, and c, meet back here in an hour." None of that. He was super kind but his job was not to communicate with the tourists, so this was unfair to him. He was asking us how long we'd like at each destination and we of course had no idea having never been there before! We went to Moulay Idriss, but no idea who that was other than guesses and rumors from others on the tour. Volubilis was great but somewhat rushed. In Meknes we were unable to find anything of interest, having been given no direction. We were running rather late, resulting in a late afternoon lunch. The entire thing was a disaster, made marginally better by the driver whose heart was in the right place, but entirely unacceptable overall.

The tour was as described, Moulay Idris , maybe stay there 40 minutes, was worth a visit after a car trip, maybe could have stopped off at the local market in village , maybe stay 20minutes, before getting to MI. Volubilis was certainly a highlight, maybe stay there 90 minutes, then back to Mekenes, maybe 3 hours is enough with lunch and visiting the souk. Our driver was informative on many aspects of Arab and Berber culture. Arriving safe and sound, a worthwhile tour with a capable driver in Ishmail.
