They were an hour late & sent a taxi that wouldn't fit all of our luggage. We had to ride with our carry-on's on our lap. The cab driver's defrost didn't work so we had to ride with the window's down, it was raining so we got soaking wet. This was the most stressful of our entire trip. The cab ride was 30 pounds & I was charged more than double that for the cab ride.

We booked a private transfer because we had a very early flight. Unfortunately our driver was not on time and we had to call to inquire if someone was coming to pick us up. Our driver finally showed up almost 20 minutes late, which added to what was already a stressful and early morning. On top of that, our driver informed us that we had overpaid by nearly double. Should have just taken an Uber instead.

Paid and verified ride to airport from hotel in Edinburgh at 3am. I also gave flight information and room number. I was in the lobby at 3am. Car did not have label on outside so I waited for my daughter to come down and went out to car at 0310. Company had canceled saying we were too late. We hired a taxi which was half the price and easier.

Prebooked car hire for run to Edinburgh Airport

Ordered a prebooked only hire to get us to Edinburgh airport. The online offer suggested that once booked the driver would contact me to arrange pick up time but once booking was complete the confirmation notice advised that the car would arrive three hours before flight departure. So at 6am we were waiting in the cold for the car. At 6:10 I rang the number provided to check car was on the way. After the operator spoke to to the driver I was advised that the car was 10 minutes away. About five minutes before it arrived the driver rang to say he was on the way. As it turned out he got us to the airport in plenty of time, but perhaps communications could be improved.

They told me he would be there In 10 minutes..called again after 15 minutes and was told please wait he will be there in 15 minutes..after an hour of this I called a taxi..taxi showed up in about 2 minutes

My driver arrived at the hotel right on time, helped my load my bags, and got me to the Edinburgh Airport efficiently. He was very polite, and when he dropped me off he explained where to walk to get to the terminal, because construction had the route hidden. It was an excellent experience, and I will definitely use this service again.

Driver never showed. We had a 6 am flight. We were told the driver would be there at 3am. We confirmed with the company the day prior to be sure we were good. They said yes the driver would be there. At 330 am we called an Uber to take us. Fortunately one was avaliable. Luckily we did not miss our flight.

Worst experience arriving and leaving Edinburgh! Same transport company was used for booking our arrival and departure and neither time were they there when expected. There was no one at the airport to greet us after a long overnight flight with lost luggage. We had to wait 50 minutes after having to call them twice to get anyone to get us. For the return trip, I messaged them the day before and they replied confirming that they would be at the hotel at 5:30am the next morning. No one was there! When I called them at 5:35am, I was out on hold for 10 minutes and then told someone would be there in about 20 minutes. I had already secured another taxi by then and demanded a refund for which they said I had to contact Viator. Viator issued a refund within minutes of my filing the complaint. Plus, hailing a taxi from the hotel was significantly cheaper than pre-booking! 0 starts for the taxi company, but 5 stars to Viator for handling to situation so well!

Viator needs to rethink this contract. We used this service from our downtown Sheraton hotel to the airport. We prepaid and reserved a 4 PM pick up for 118 USD for 2 people. A cab picked us up side of the cab said it was only available for reserved hires and took us to the airport. The trip was no longer than 30 minutes. The meter in the cab came to only about 20 pounds or about 30 USD. The driver was pleasant and the cab was clean but was not worth the 88 USD extra charge. I recommend that if you need transportation from downtown Edinburgh to the Edinburgh airport, just take a cab. Edinburg is like New York -- cabs are everywhere!

A bit expensive but somebody waiting on you by name to get you as you come out and take you door to door saved a lot of time and stress figuring out best way to get to hotel rather than having to walk with luggage from some undefined drop or pick up point. The drivers were very polite and helpful trying to make the ride as pleasant as possible.
