Itinerary

Your "Da Vinci Code" adventure departs in the morning from central Edinburgh. Meet your expert guide and board your top-of-the-range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach for a half-day tour of the Scottish Borderlands and some of the area’s most legendary locations.

Your first stop is the William Wallace Statue, followed by a visit to Melrose Abbey, the burial place of Robert the Bruce’s heart. Founded by Cistercian monks in the 12th century, the abbey offers a legendary history connecting the Cistercians to the Knights Templar.

Next, head to the epic viewpoint at Scott’s View—named for Sir Walter Scott—perched high above Tweed Valley and Eildon Hills. Snap some photos of Roman ruins and the rugged Scottish landscape, then continue to the mysterious Rosslyn Chapel, a 15th-century masterpiece that enjoyed a critical role in "The Da Vinci Code." Explore the medieval structure and study the chapel's elaborate stonework, loaded with provocative symbolism. Hear some of the many theories, myths, and legends about the chapel that attracts visitors from around the globe, then relax on the ride back to Edinburgh.

Your tour ends at Waverley Bridge. Please note, that the tour route is reversed in some months of the year (visiting Rosslyn Chapel first). However, Sunday itineraries typically stay the same.

This was a beautiful experience to see the lovely outskirts of Edinburgh and the borders. Our tour guide through Rabbies, Duncan, was awesome. The folks at Rosslyn chapel do a great presentation about the chapel's history. I strongly encourage people book this tour.

Hidden Treasure

Dee_C, Apr 2026
I thought that I had booked a different tour and was a bit disappointed to hear we were going to Rosslyn Chapel. Upon arriving we were pleasantly surprised to see this hidden treasure. Rich in history and beauty it’s a must to see.

Fabulous day out

Donna_M, Feb 2026
Tour guide was fabulous. Great storyteller and very funny. This was my zillionth Rabbies tour and I'll keep coming back. I love the small coach (16 people max) and the intimate experience vs a giant bus that seats 70 people. Short"ish" day trip about 6.5 hours. Excellent. So worth the money.

Wonderfully informative

Highly highly recommend this trip was amazing! Nik the driver for my tour was really great at storytelling and letting us know the history which was perfect for me. He also was a great driver in general and as someone who gets extremely car sick I was very grateful. The chapel somehow outshone my expectations it was so stunning and going to Melrose abbey after was amazing even though some of it was shut seeing all the history was just incredible. Thank you Nik for really making this trip special!

Great guide and very knowledgeable about the chapel itself and the area we visited afterwards. He is also a very good photographer

Great tour with Graham!

Ericka_P, Dec 2025
This was an amazing small group tour with an equally amazing driver/guide (Graham). We learned so much about not only our destinations but the places in between and the history of Scotland itself. We booked this last minute rather than taking transit out to Rosslyn Chapel and I'm so glad we did! We saw & learned so much more than we could have on our own.

Thoroughly enjoyed!

Rosslyn Chapel

Carl_C, Oct 2025
Driver very knowledgeable, Rosslyn Chapel was great, especially the history. A lot of my questions were answered. Definitely would recommend the tour while in Edinburgh.

Quiet and Contemplative Day

Elizabeth_B, Oct 2025
This was a nice, quiet and contemplative day. No rushing around to the “hot spots” but a more relaxed atmosphere. The stops were beautiful and the time allotted was adequate. It was disappointing that the inside of Melrose was closed, but the ladies in the shop were wonderful in making sure you saw everything you could.

Wish we had more time at Chapel

Karen_W, Oct 2025
The tour is about 7 hours long and involves a lot of driving. The driver will point out sites but you won’t be stopping to visit. The highlight is Rosslyn Chapel. I wish there was a shorter tour that featured only the chapel for a longer visit there. Our guide, Ally P., was entertaining, educational, and energetic.

Great tour

jean_z, Oct 2025
This was a lovely tour and our guide was knowledgeable. The sites were gorgeous as was the little village we stopped at for lunch. Highly recommend doing this tour.

Perfect Day

Ann_A, Sep 2025
The van was comfortable and I enjoyed our guide who was very attentive, informed and passionate about our destinations. I loved visiting Rosslyn Chapel and Scottish Borders, and appreciated lots of time out to walk and explore on our own.

Rosslyn Chapel well worth seeing.

Jan_N, Sep 2025
We had a great driver/tour guide. Rosslyn Chapel was stunning. Great crew on the bus. My only negative is the tour was listed as 10.5hrs and that I assume is what I paid for. However, the whole day was only 6.5hrs.

A must see places.

Teresa_C, Sep 2025
Very well organized, on time, kind, helpful and knowledgeable guide (Brian), nice comments, great music. I had an amazing time while visiting those outstanding places.

Fabulous!

TARA_H, Sep 2025
Dunkin’ was well wonderful! He was well spoken as well as informative! He was attentive to questions, gave the group time to visit the sites and responded to bathroom requests. I would highly recommend this tour!!!!

Nice tour Need more time at Roslyn Chapel

Timothy_M, Sep 2025
Lizzie was awesome! She was well spoken and told a great story. We really enjoyed her. The biggest issue we had was that there was not enough time at Roslyn Chapel. We only had an hour and a half and that was not near enough time. We would rather have had less time in Melrose.

Rosslyn and Melrose, Beautiful!

Carla_W, Sep 2025
Beautiful locations! Our guide Duncan was great, it was like being in a history class. Duncan had so many stories, we really enjoyed it. The scenery was also amazing. This was a wonderful tour and we really enjoyed stopping at all of the small towns.

We had a great trip and saw some lovely Scottish countryside. So much easier to just sit back and let someone else drive. Bryan was a very knowledgeable and personable host.

Pleasant day in the countryside

Deb_S, Aug 2025
It’s mostly riding. Not a tour with a lot of activity but the scenery and Kim’s knowledge of basically everything was outstanding. Rosslyn Chapel is Awesome but with no photography allowed, other than the outside, it’s rather hard to share the experience with others

Amazing Rosslyn chapel!

pope, Aug 2025
Do not miss it! Rosslyn chapel is none like we have ever seen! Unique in architecture and style! Also the trip trough Scott borders has amazing views companies by a guide that shared a piece of Scottish history with humor and style! Cheers!

Perfect Bite Size Way to See Scottish Lowlands

Laura_G, Aug 2025
Trevor was a friendly, accommodating guide who provided interesting facts along the ride. He made a point to drive us through beautiful countryside and towns to maximize our experience along the way to our preplanned destinations. Would have loved more time at each stop but now I know where to go when I come back. The small bus and 16 person limit (only 8 people on our specific tour) made for a low stress, easy tour. Would definitely book with this company again. Easy pick up, drop off too.

Excellent Day!

Ingrid_D, Jul 2025
We had a fantastic day with Jim Scott. He was personable, funny and filled with historical and informative information. Took us to great spots with plenty of time to enjoy each. Rosslyn Chapel is a must see and he had great insight into its mysteries.
