Very friendly bus driver who was extremely skilled at maneuvering his large motor coach on the narrow roads. We were given enough time at each stop. The sheep herding experience was my favorite as the owners allowed us to interact with the sheep as well as the dogs. Would have liked some bottled water in the bus on our way back. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Dublin!

We added this tour so my adult children could pet some sheep while in Ireland (!). It turned out to be a really nice chance to see more of Ireland's natural beauty, and yes, DEFINITELY some sheep petting. This tour is not a long haul from Dublin, leaving more time to hike around the Powerscourt falls--very pretty--and plenty of time to walk to the 2nd lake at the monastery in Glendalough. It concluded with a visit to a sheep farm. This was not a super commercial, produced thing--rather, it was a young man showing us how his dog, Jim, handles sheep herding duties when the sheep are sent to wander among the hills of Glendalough. A puppy wandered over, becoming the star of the show (we were encouraged to hold her!) and then we got the chance to pet and even pick up a sheep. Very fun! Overall, an enjoyable tour that did not kill us with too much time on a tour bus.

We had a great trip and really enjoyed our tour guide Conor who was a very informative! It was nice to see other parts of Ireland while we were on a short visit and could squeeze the tour in as it was 7 hours. The sheep dog demo was amazing to see live. We really enjoyed the beautiful countryside and highly recommend this trip!

Fun event for the whole family to do. Would recommend it. Our tour guide Conor, was excellent! He told us a lot of history, everything about Ireland. He told us some Irish slang, etc… Sheep tour was the most fun for all

Beautiful nature, and sheep demo was also fun!
Long day, but the bus was pretty comfortable. Lunch option in Glendalough is limited (food trucks) or a hotel. We did food trucks since we wanted to see the lake and the monastic ruins. Overall, would recommend!

We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your day with us! Thank you for your kind words, and we hope to see you again on your next visit to Ireland.

It was great, our driver was knowledgeable. The shepherding excursion was fun. The dog is so smart, the sheep are friendly. Good excursion for the cost. Eat at the food trucks not at the hotel. The food was very bland and pricey. It was a nice way to get out of Dublin

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're so pleased you had a great experience and hope you made some unforgettable memories in Ireland.

I booked this trip for three adults and a child. The balance of nature, ruins, and sheepdog was appealing to all of us.
When we checked in, the worker told us to go down the street and look for the white bus. There was no white bus. There was a purple bus, but when someone asked the gentleman that got off of it if he was our tour guide, he was confused. But it turned out he was the tour guide.
On the drive, the tour guide gave a few facts about what we were going to see, though he rambled a bit and repeated himself.
We arrived at the Powerscourt Waterfall (gorgeous!!!) and had an hour to explore and for the kids on the bus to play on the playground. This was great- gorgeous scenery, rocks to scramble, nice walking paths, good playground for kids.
We then left and went to Glendlough Monsetary. On the way there, my daughter got motion sick and vomited. We did our best to clean up with the napkins and wipes we had. When we arrived, we let the bus driver know, expecting that he’d have some basic cleaning supplies. It turns out he did not and let the vomit sit on the bus for 2.5 hours until we got back and asked for either him to clean or to give us supplies. As a former teacher who did many field trips and overnights on busses with students, there were ALWAYS paper towels and cleaning supplies on the busses for issues like this. Just before we left, he did go get some paper towels from the visitor center and cleaned up. At this point, the whole bus smelled like vomit (sorry, fellow tourists). We used some hand sanitizing wipes from another passenger to finish cleaning up.
On the bus, the tour guide told us we would have 30 minutes to use the bathroom and such and then the tour would begin back at the bus. The tour would be about an hour and then we’d have an additional hour to explore and grab lunch. I immediately took my daughter to the bathroom to wash up. When we got back to the bus, within the 30 minutes, the tour guide was gone. My husband said he saw the tour guide leading a few people up a path minutes earlier.
I called the tour operating company to see if they could reach the guide or driver. It turns out, after we’d gone to the bathroom (along with many other people on the bus!), he’d changed the instructions- he was going to do the tour immediately and also changed our departure time from 2pm to 2:30p. We basically spent 20 minutes looking for the tour and then lost an additional 30 minutes of exploring AND the whole tour of the grounds because this guide’s inability to clearly communicate. I wanted to learn about the monastic village without having to google and be on my phone. I really feel like I missed a lot here.
We then went to a sheepdog presentation. The three sheep farmers were SO knowledgeable and their dog’s ability was impressive. We learned a lot about sheep farming, herding, and the process. Honestly, this was the highlight of the tour.
Overall, I enjoyed WHERE we went, but I am disappointed in this tour. I almost wish we had not taken it, but we really did like the locations.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We're glad to hear you enjoyed Powerscourt Waterfall and especially the sheepdog experience. We're very sorry, however, for the issues you experienced with the bus, the communication around the Glendalough tour, and the disruption caused by your daughter's illness. We understand how frustrating it must have been to miss part of the guided visit after being given different instructions. We take your comments seriously and would appreciate the opportunity to look into what happened. Please contact us at info@daytours.ie with your booking details so we can investigate further.

This tour was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. From the start, our guide Jonathan made us feel welcome, comfortable, and excited to explore. His passion for the history, culture, and local traditions was infectious, and his stories truly brought each place to life. He was also incredibly funny, keeping us smiling and laughing throughout.
A particularly special moment was when Jonathan sang an Irish song about the Easter rising—it added such a heartfelt, authentic touch and made the experience even more unforgettable.( I visited Kilmainham Gohl the day before so it was really deep emotionally when I heard his song)
What stood out most was how much he genuinely cared about everyone having a great experience. He was patient, kind, and always happy to answer questions or share insights you wouldn’t find in a guidebook. It felt like being shown around by a friend who loves his home and wanted us to love it too.
Thank you for giving us more than just a tour—you gave us lasting memories. We’ll always remember this experience with a smile and can’t recommend it highly enough. If we return, we would choose this tour again without hesitation.

A truly outstanding trip. Connor was an excellent guide and driver. A photographers dream day. And the sheepdog experience was very interactive, with our having time with the sheep and Oscar the boarder collie.

This tour of the Wicklow Mountains was one of the highlights of my trip! Our tour guide/bus driver was fantastic—he had a wonderful, engaging way of sharing stories, history, and local legends while pointing out interesting landmarks along the way. He kept everyone entertained throughout the journey.
The scenery in Wicklow Mountains National Park was absolutely breathtaking. As someone who loves the mountains, every stop seemed more beautiful than the last. It truly showcased the natural beauty of Ireland.
I highly recommend this tour. It was an unforgettable experience!

We had a wonderful day on this tour! Everything ran on time, both for departure and the return trip.
Our driver, Mike (I think that’s his name) was excellent. He shared lots of interesting history and information throughout the drive, which made the journey even more enjoyable. He also drove very safely, especially on the winding roads, and we felt comfortable the entire trip. The bus was clean, comfortable, and the air conditioning made for a pleasant ride.
The stop at the waterfall gave us plenty of time to enjoy the scenery without feeling rushed. We also really enjoyed the sheepdog demonstration. The young man who led it (I can’t remember his name) had a great personality, explained everything really well, and made the demonstration both informative and entertaining.
Glendalough was beautiful, and while we would have loved a little more time there, we knew the schedule when we booked the tour, so that wasn’t a surprise. Could have spent another hour or two there if you enjoy to hike.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Ireland!

Our tour was fantastic from start to finish! Rory, our bus driver, was incredibly knowledgeable, and his commentary was absolutely hilarious—the first highlight of the day.
Glendalough National Park was breathtaking and well worth the trip. Be sure to wear your most comfortable walking shoes!
The sheepdog demonstration was another highlight. Jonah, the owner’s son, was friendly, entertaining, and made the experience so much fun. We even got to feed a baby lamb a bottle and hold the sheep, which was such a memorable experience.
I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Ireland!

Lots of tours will take you to Glendalough, I chose this one specifically to see Powerscourt Waterfall. It is listed as the first stop but our guide took us straight to Glendalough. He was 25 min late picking us up from there due to "traffic," then we went to the sheepdog farm and straight back to Dublin. Traffic is understandable but should be expected, it was frustrating a common, foreseen occurrence took away an entire experience we purchased. Some passengers insisted they had to get back early to make a cruise. Poor planning on their end shouldn't constitute ruining the tour for everyone else. Glendalough was really neat, and the sheepdog farm was uniquely fun. Parts of the tour were great, but don't count on the visit sites you're promised.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for your honest feedback. While we are glad you enjoyed Glendalough and the sheepdog farm, we are incredibly sorry that you missed out on Powerscourt Waterfall.
We completely understand your frustration. You chose this tour specifically for the waterfall, and we deeply regret that traffic delays and scheduling adjustments compromised your experience. Your feedback has been shared directly with our operations team to prevent this from happening again.
We appreciate your patience and thank you for helping us improve our tours.

This tour had high hopes but was overshadowed by the large school groups and the ending at the sheep “farm”. The two highlights were the waterfall and the hiking. I wish the tour guide wouldn’t have discouraged going into the visitor center which also was adjacent to a lovely hotel which had an amazing patio and full menu. Instead the 100 plus tour group was advised to walk away through the woods to the food trucks which sold ice cream, burgers, chicken fingers, and toasties. The real disappointment of this trip was the ending as it was NOT a sheep farm. I do believe the young lads demonstrating the herding were part of a family owned farm. But thjs janky side road demonstration pin that squeezed over 100 tourists to watch 10 sheep herded into a pin and then the really really disturbing part was when three lambs were “released” from their pins. Guests were given dry food and three bottles to three lambs that were covered in feces. The underbellies of the lambs were full of smashed poop and it was unbelievable watching 100 tourists all try and touch and feed 3 lamb. Guests tried picking them up with no instructions and the part that really disturbed me was the empty hand sanitizer on the fence that nobody mentioned to use. I would absolutely look into a different tour if you want to see a sheep farm and not a bordering poor animal conditions and unsanitary conditions bc then everyone who handled those animals went back to the bus touching the railings etc. I picked this tour bc of the sheep farm herding and it was farm from other professional clean establishments. My daughter went on a different tour a week earlier with friends in Ireland and theirs was clean and adults were running it, not two teenagers. I would never recommend this tour
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Thank you for your feedback. While we are glad you enjoyed the waterfall and the hiking, we are very concerned to hear about your experience at the sheep farm.
Please be assured that we are investigating the hygiene and hand sanitizer issues with their management immediately, as animal welfare and guest safety are our top priorities.
We would like to clarify that this is indeed an authentic, family-run working sheep farm, but we agree that the crowded conditions and presentation during your visit were not acceptable. We are actively reviewing how these visits are managed to ensure a much cleaner and more comfortable experience.

This is a beautiful day trip. The waterfall was breathtaking. Our hike in Glendalough, Wow! The ruins, the lakes, the views, even a few red deer! The sheep dog demo was a lot of fun and very interesting and interactive. You driver/guide Andre was amazing, provided us so much information.

Fantastic experience, highly recommend! This was a great way to get out of Dublin and see other parts of Ireland with spending hours on a bus. Tour guide Michael was amazing!

Enjoyed the tour and Bobo singing and entertaining us during the drives from place to place. loved the sheepdog activity and the demonstration they gave us, they also allowed us to pet the sheep and dog which was great. Would recommend highly to people wanting a day trip to Wicklow

This was a great tour if you have a few free hours to go out of Dublin. Our bus driver Alec was amazing and each stop we went to was truly beautiful.
Steven_M, Jun 2026
The waterfall is very neat, gorgeous for vacation pictures, the lakes are perfect for a shirt hike, and the sheep dog demo was incredible well done, we got to pet and feed the sheep all very cool stuff
Jessica_P, Jun 2026
Alex was fantastic!! I loved the history he gave on the tour! The waterfall was stunning. Pictures do not do this justice. Glendalough was amazing. Beautiful. The sheep dog demo was really cool. Jonah was our person that did the demonstration. He was knowledgeable and was open to answer any questions we had. We got to pet the sheep and he also had a puppy on-site. It was an amazing day. The worst part of the day for my husband was the bus ride. He did not like the narrow, twisty roads. All in all it was a really great day and we enjoyed our adventure!!
Caithlyn_M, Jun 2026
Beautiful landscapes and our guide even took us on a side quest to see Guiness Lake. He shared a lot of information about Dublin and Ireland in general while we drove
Christina_G, Jun 2026
The castle tour day trip was awesome. Richard was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable and funny to keep us entertained! It was a long day, but beautiful sites and weather.
Stacy_H, May 2026
Great day trip for all. Wicklow is beautiful, the sheep dog demo was fantastic, we learned so much on this great tour with Frank, our tour guide and bus driver.
jen7writer, May 2026
If you’re looking for lots of stops and not much driving, this may be the tour for you. We stopped at plenty of places over the day with a flexible driver who wouldn’t leave you behind if you were a minute late, unlike most other day tours. There was no narration from the driver most of the time, but also no spiels about tipping or leaving a review, which I appreciate it. It’s a very small bus compared to most other tours in Ireland which could be appreciated, but no power sockets inside. Some of the stops felt rushed, like the waterfall, while we had plenty of time at the settlement and the sheep farm (and didn’t have to pay to hold a baby lamb!). I think everyone had a great, chill day while seeing some great local sights. We even added in a quick photo stop at Guinness Lake which was lovely.
Michelle_L, May 2026
This tour was great.
Time will get away from you. The falls almost demand 100s of pictures, then the stream calls for some, add your partner and your late back to the bus.
The tour guide was funny and has many historical facts to share, answers questions and feeds the experience of fun and excitement..
We loved and enjoyed the singing.
Thanks for the great experience!!
Regina_F, May 2026
Beautiful countryside with sheep everywhere. Knowledgeable tour guide and 3 separate activities made the day fly by.From a beautiful waterfall to the ruins of an old walled city to watching a shepherd show us his dogs skills. Great fun and very family friendly.
Jasmine_T, May 2026
The tour was a good time. I did find that accessibility at the Glendalough location was a bit lacking. The actual lakes are about a 15-20 minute walk (one way) to the spots that are pictured on the listing. The cemetery & tower are closer to the drop off location (about 5 minutes). I was saddened to hear that some folks on the tour with mobility issues missed out on visiting some of the sites due to the distance of the trails/small inclines. I wish this was disclosed in the original listing.
Michelle_S, May 2026
The best time with the best tour guide Philip- he genuinely made our tour so enjoyable. He is very enthusiastic, compassionate, informative, and electric. Best time at the sheep farm. 10/10 best tour we did with my favorite tour guide to date.
