Pretty awesome but could be better

Julia_W, Jul 2025
I first wanna preface this by saying that we really really enjoyed the tour. It allowed us to see Ireland without having to deal with renting a car. But it wasn’t perfect. Only 2 breakfasts are included. I was expecting one on the first day but there wasn’t anything, so definitely eat before getting on the bus. The driver is also the guide which is fine except my guide didn’t do a whole lot of explaining the last two days. My driver also seemed to have an attitude towards the end of the trip. He especially didn’t like this Australian man that was on the tour and wasn’t very nice towards him. We all joked about it though so it added a bit of entertainment. Sometimes they change the itinerary without any notice or just don’t fully stick to it, but it didn’t really feel like we were missing out on anything. My guide took us to a castle which wasn’t part of the plans which was awesome. But then he also rushed through Killarney national park which I would have liked some more time at. Overall it was an awesome experience and I would do it again.

Horrible!!!

Brianne_D, May 2025
HORRIBLE!!! I would NOT recommend taking this tour!!! Or any Paddywagon tour. I paid a very high price for this tour and it’s the only tour (traveled for a month) that I couldn’t wait to be over. IT WAS THE WORST TOUR!!! Paddywagon changed the places this tour went to and never told anyone on the tour. The first night we stayed in a filthy hotel, miles away from town. (About 20 minutes (by car) from town.) The second night we stayed in a hotel in a town we weren’t supposed to stay in. We were supposed to stay in the Dingle Peninsula. We did not even go into the Dingle Peninsula. We stopped for lunch on the first day and spent hours at the lunch stop. HOURS. The tour bus was a sprinter that wasn’t big enough for the tourists. There were no windows in the sprinter. We weren’t allowed to ask questions about what we saw. I asked why everything was named after the same person and who the person was. I was told by the tour guide it was named that cuz it was. Someone asked for the significance of Kearney national park. She was told it was significant b/c it’s a national park. We were given no information about what time we’d start “touring” in the morning. I sat in the lobby for hours on the second day, waiting for the sprinter to show up.

Not Rushed but not a moment wasted

n_n, May 2025
Bus driver Gordon was the perfect narrator and chaperone and not a moment was wasted nor by hiccups.

Great nature but tired course

HYEWON_P, Sep 2024
The trekking on the Moher Cliff was the best travel gift. However, it seems to be a little tiring for a three-day trip.

The trip was Great

Yanling_X, Sep 2024
The experience of the 3-Day Southern Ireland Tour was great. But the first night stay in Galway was unsatisfactory.

Warm and welcoming - this was a fantastic tour! Get signed up now

Robert_H, Aug 2024
We had the best tour guide: strict on timing so people didn't miss out, but warm and welcoming to all. Despite his microphone not working, Stevie made us feel welcome and let us know all the things we needed to know and all the options we had. The schedule was varied and interesting, with sheep dog demonstrations alongside a tour of a silver mine, various stops at key scenic places - in many differing climactic environments - plus the opportunity to ride on a horse and cart through Killarney park. The Cliffs of Moher were AMAZING! On the Dingle Peninsula, we stayed in a thatched cottage - my mum is SO jealous! Really well organised and good communication throughout. Thanks, Stevie - hope to hear from you soon, mate! BTW - I got your new t-shirt for my brother back home. Reckon he'll love it. (Susan)

A great trip

Brian_J, Jul 2024
We had our grandchildren with us and both Ian and Steve were great with them. The highlight for them was the mine and Pip with the sheep

The scenery is beautiful, but the tour is unorganized

Jessica_H, Oct 2023
I was pretty disappointed in this tour. We didn't actually do half of the things that were listed in the itinerary. The tour company is completely unorganized. There was a Ring of Kerry triathlon that had been planned for months which shut down the roads we were supposed to go on to see the Ring of Kerry, so we didn't get to see any of it. They tour company had no idea even though it was something they should have known about. Our tour guide, JJ, was great but the company left him in an awful position of having to deal with frustrated customers when things fell through. It was definitely not the trip we had hoped for at all.

A time well spent in Ireland

Pamela_S, Sep 2023
The Cliffs on land and sea were our favorite part, although we enjoyed the entire three days, especially the sheep dog demo. The weather was almost perfection. Our tour guide, Ian, was very knowledgeable, professional, a superb driver, timely and clear. We felt very safe in his care and enjoyed his music selections and sing along.

See sights without driving, if you go with laidback attitude

Michelle_R, Aug 2023
This is a great way to see distant sights without renting a car. However, do not be late returning to the bus or you will be scolded like children or worse, left behind while your luggage is still on the bus. You must wear a seat belt even though 10% don't work, because Ian the driver may well bounce the bus while careening around at high speeds and as he states, you may break your neck, all the while he tells you all the interesting and uninteresting random facts about Ireland. Do not have loud personal conversations at the back of bus with your family or the entire bus will get be scolded and the gym teacher whistle will be blown yet again. The busses really will leave without you. It happened today. And if they overbooked, you may be kicked off with just an apology and refund, nevermind ruining your day. You may be told the days agenda but it may change in a moment and he doesn't alert you. I have no idea where we currently are, where we are sleeping tonight or going tomorrow. Last night half of the bus was dropped off at a hostel to sleep, while the other at an air bnb sharing a house with random strangers. So if you are laid back and go with the flow, this is a great tour for you. If not, it is not.

The first and third day...

meena_p, Aug 2023
The first and third day itinerary of the tour was not as interesting and exciting as the second day was. We felt that there was not much to explore and see on the first and third days, and they days were dragged on. The sights of the second day were beautiful and fun for us.

Unforgettable trip, with a lot of good memories

ChristianP_S, May 2023
Good value for money. Vincent was a very Professional driver/guide. He was friendly, helpful and gave us a lot of interesting information about all the sites we visited. His organisation during the trip was just excellent!

1000 shades of green tour!

Twila_R, May 2023
Our tour guide was both friendly and knowledgeable. We had a fantastic time on this tour. Cash our guide and driver is an asset to Paddywagon tours.

Incredible Trip!

Jenna_S, Nov 2022
We had the best time! This was the highlight of our trip. The scenery can't be beat and Danny made the trip so comfortable. His personality and driving skills can't be beat! We cannot say enough good things about Danny!

Love Love Love!

Kelly_S, Sep 2022
I was lucky enough to get Cash as my driver again! He was my driver on my Blarney tour and he is not only a really great driver, he is fun, engaging, and has a knack for making everyone comfortable. His stories are hilarious! This tour was fantastic! We did have some bad weather for the Cliffs of Moher but Cash managed to make silver linings happen! Definitely go on tour with Paddywagon. The B+B' s were nice, all the stops were breath taking and it was the highlight of my last days in Ireland! Traveling solo is easy with a tour. Just put yourself out there and you will have a blast!

Amazing way to see some of the most beautiful spots in Ireland

Janette_Y, Aug 2022
I joined this tour as a solo traveler in the "backpacker" option. The tour includes many great foto stops but this also gives it a fast pace. The hostels for the two nights were nice and mostly clean, the breakfast was not great (only toast and nutella/jam) or cornflakes with cow milk, so I recommend packing some extra food for the mornings. Our driver and guide Vincent was very funny and helpful. Sometimes I wish there would have been more explanations and a few more hints (like when you are stopping for a bathroom break or to grab food, letting people know when the next opportunity will be so they can judge appropriately). The hostel set up, the group dinner and karaoke on day two really set up a great group experience so you'll easily meet people even as a solo traveler. The Irish landscape is gorgeous but a bit repetitive, so if you are on a tight budget, I recommend skipping day three. The ring of kerry was great but Killarney is basically just a tourist town with overpriced shops and restaurants. Galway and Cliffs of Moher however are a must see. Thanks Paddywagon Tours for a great experience, I would definitely book with you again!

Thanks, Cash, for a memorable trip.

Kathleen_B, Aug 2022
Our driver, Cash, was very entertaining, kept the longer bus rides from getting boring. He also provided a great deal of information about the areas we visited. At the same time, he kept everyone on schedule, so that we didn’t have to cut our time short at any stop. The Bed and Breakfast facilities were clean and comfortable. Most of the patrons had a rollicking good time at the Randy Leprechaun as well.

Enjoyable trip

EDWARDDAVID_B, Aug 2022
Our trip was great overall. We enjoyed getting to know folks from ten countries that were on the excursion. The driver was engaging and warm while also being a very skilled driver of the large bus. We were blessed with beautiful weather, so he even coordinated us taking the boat ride to see the Cliffs of Moher. Our two concerns with the trip were a few too many off-color jokes by the driver for our liking, and we never went to the Dingle Peninsula. The itinerary said we would spend the second night on the " breathtaking Dingle Peninsula", but instead we stayed in Killarney. Other than that we really enjoyed the trip and would recommend to others.

Do not take this tour

Christina_A, Aug 2022
8 to 11 hours a day on a bus. First day had a 20 min stop at a McDonald’s then 1 hour at a village with about 30 buildings and a creek. Second day was 11 hours more stops but arrived at hotel at 8 pm after a 3 hour drive from the last stop. I had booked 2 rooms at each b&b. Got only one at the last hotel. Various Pick up points in Dublin are given on the website. Make sure you walk inside the meet up point and ask if your bus is stopping there. Ask every bus driver that stops if they are your tour bus. Organization by paddy wagon/Viator is nonexistent. You are on your own. Cash the driver was great. Excellent driver, very entertaining.

Danny was AWESOME! That is where it ends, My itinerary was changed 3 days prior to the trip.

SueConsidine, Jul 2022
Danny is AWESOME! He made the best of a bad situation. We did not leave on a green, comfy seat paddywagon bus, we left in a bus with broken hard seats, no leg room, and bad airflow. My itinerary was changed 3 days prior to the trip due to races in Galway. Are the races not the same time each year?! So, my trip to Galway never happened. Instead, we stayed in Kilarrney the first night, I will never go back. my accommodations were awful. The second night in Alascue(?) was better, however, the water in the sink faucet came out black. I did love inch beach and the places we visited on Sunday. Saturday was a complete bust, except we did do a little dancing and singing at the pub and that was fun. I can't say enough good things about Danny, his humor, his positivity and the look he shared into Irish culture through humor and stories was uplifting and made the experience bearable.

Ring of Kerry was breathtaking, and our tour guide Danny was amazing!

Leah_H, Jul 2022
Our tour guide Danny was amazing!! Unbelievable tour and he made it so engaging with his humor, knowledge of the sites and personalized recommendations. We were focused on Galway when we signed up for this (which was gorgeous), but the Ring of Kerry was breathtaking. An absolute must-see!! Every day was lovely and we are recommending this exact same tour to everyone we know (and we only wish they could also request Danny!). I’ve lived in Ireland before and it was my husband’s first time for our honeymoon. We both loved it!

Great 3 day tour.

Jenalyn_K, Jul 2022
We had an amazing three day tour. Danny was great; fun, flexible, entertaining and super knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

*DO NOT BOOK* WORST TOUR AGENCY EVER!

YungWei_N, Jun 2022
We booked the 3-Day Southern Ireland Tour Including Galway and Kerry from Dublin with Paddywagon which turned out to be the worst decision ever. On Day 1, we followed the instructions set out in the tour details which asked us to check-in at Paddy's Palace 15 minutes before departure. The departure was supposed to be at Paddywagon Tours Ltd and the departure time stated was 8:00 AM. We reached Paddy’s Palace at 0730 only to find out that that’s where Paddywagon Tours used to operate and they’ve moved since. The people in that building asked us to wait in the road opposite instead, which seemed like a very odd and random place to meet up. We saw a group of people who looked like travellers there so we went over and asked if that was the correct meet-up point. They said that it was the correct place and they’ve asked many different people too because it was just that unclear, like how do you even mess up such a simple yet important information. However, we thought it was quite risky to wait by a random road so we went over to Paddywagon Tours which was about 15 mins away to see if we could ask someone about this. After rushing over to Paddywagon Tours like mad, we saw so many travellers like us (about 50) just standing outside, which led us to think that was actually the right place to meet. To make sure that it was the correct pickup point, we asked a female staff from Paddywagon Tours who didn’t know anything and asked us to ask the bus drivers who parked their buses by the road INDIVIDUALLY. After asking 3 bus drivers, the last one asked us to ask a male staff called Sonny/Sani (guy in orange shirt in the first picture, don’t know how to spell his name). When we explained our situation regarding the different check-in point and asked politely about the correct meet-up point, this is his exact response: “That’s your problem!”. Imagine him saying that in front of the whole group of people, who were in a similar situation as us and waiting for their turns to ask the same thing. We felt very humiliated and absolutely disgusted by his rude attitude and behaviour towards their customers. Surprisingly, (or maybe not so surprisingly?), when someone from the UK asked him about the same thing, he was smiling, being very polite and courteous. (We are international tourists if that’s not obvious). Why hire this kind of racist morons when you are operating a tour agency which obviously attracts international tourists mainly? By the way, this tour costed 1500 EUROS, fun 😊 To make things worse, the area outside Paddywagon Tours where everyone was waiting was in complete disarray and shambles, due to how disorganised Paddywagon Tours was. Not a single staff was doing the obvious thing to take names and check number of travellers etc. They also didn’t bother to group people into different tours, which may seem understandable if there’s overlap between different tours but imagine this: When a different bus arrives outside, everyone rushes to the bus driver asking the tour that the driver is operating. This was a back-and-forth process and one bus even forgot to stop outside Paddywagon Tours and just went on. You can see the second picture for an example of this. Eventually we got on the bus at 0840 but there weren’t enough seats. The driver, maybe acting on the instructions of the tour agency, had the audacity to ask if anyone wants to GET OFF the bus. One lady volunteered because she commented that it was a SHITSHOW, to which the driver agreed. We ended up departing at 0900. It's just baffling how a tour agency that’s been operating so many years didn’t seem to have any organisation and customer services skills whatsoever. That just straight up ruined the first day for us. To make things worse, the driver said that the mic was broken, through the mic no less 😊! We passed by all those places without knowing their history. We didn’t even know what we were looking at and just alighted the bus when all other tourists did to take photos etc. We had to keep asking the driver regarding how long we are stopping at each location, what we are doing, what’s the plan etc. We could move up a little to hear more clearly but there’s obviously only so many seats available. There was pretty much no commentary through the mic throughout the 3-day trip and the driver only spoke out loud, expecting the whole bus to be able to listen to him clearly, with the engines running and people talking in the background. The whole trip was pretty much the driver fetching us to all these stops while talking to those in the front row seats only. It seems that the only thing true about the statement “100% Irish Tour Guides” in the tour ad is that the driver is indeed Irish. There were also some other issues like: - Asking us to be punctual at one stop but ended up being late himself for 15 minutes - There wasn’t much information on what to do when we were in Galway and we were asked to Google or talk to the locals there to find out Oh before I forget, to make the tour more interesting and full or surprises, below is a list of things that were different to what’s advertised in the tour: - No free Wi-Fi on the bus - 2 breakfasts instead of 3 - We passed through Adare but didn’t even stop there. We were most excited about this given the description on the ad: “We will enjoy a stop at one of Ireland's most picturesque villages - Adare with its fabulous thatched cottages which line part of the village's broad main street , renowned for being regularly voted Ireland's tidiest town. It is known for its beautiful stone buildings, medieval monasteries and ruins.” Maybe Paddywagon Tours doesn’t understand that tours like this are usually considered by others are “trips of a lifetime”. It’s just infuriating how we paid so much money for this totally unenjoyable trip. “AwArD wInNiNg PaDdYwAgOn, WoRlD fAmOuS tOuRs Of IrElAnD” “OuR tEaM oF lOcAl TaLeNtS aRe PaSsIoNaTe AbOuT tHeIr HoMe CoUnTrY aNd ThEy WiLl PrOvIdE yOu WiTh StOrIeS tO lAsT a LiFeTiMe” What an absolute terrible joke.

Would not recommend

Brittaney_W, Apr 2022
First off, our guide Damien was amazing! This review does not reflect him as a guide- he was knowledgable, friendly, and a fantastic driver. But head office was highly disorganized and non-responsive. I've never had a tour company not respond to a customer (they even saw the Facebook message). Tour lists a dinner and 3 breakfasts, where in reality, it's 2 basic breakfasts. Noone had any clue about the dinner or 3rd breakfast. We were dropped off in Galway by ourselves and without a guide. It's a very independent trip. No recommendations or sites to see or anything. We were also told that we'd be staying only with PaddyWagon guests in our hostel. I specifically asked this prior to booking. But they stuck us with a few other random people in the hostel. Just terrible communication with the PaddyWagon company. You get what you pay for I guess but we overpaid considering its false advertising especially with the meals being included.

This tour was wonderful and good value, driver Aaron who was also our guide was very friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of information, he was very knowledgeable on the local areas

Ireland Sep 2019

Nicole_H, Oct 2019
I am a solo female traveler from California and I had the best time. I stayed in the hostel, have to say, I had not stayed in a hostel in over 25 years. The people I shared the room with, were amazing and the group that ran the hostel in both places were awesome! Our driver Frank was excellent, funny, and he shared the history of area we traveled. The people on the tour were enjoyable as we all got along with each other and had fun. I wanted to thank the entire team at PaddyWagon for making this a memorable trip and sharing the beautiful country of Ireland with me. I would highly recommend this to anybody who wanted to explore Ireland in either a group or solo. JUST DO IT! I am so happy I did….

Best 3 Day Tour

DonnaJean1LA, Aug 2019
I really enjoyed this 3 Day tour around Ireland. We saw beautiful scenery; had a lot of stops to take fantastic pictures; and enjoyed the commentary from the bus driver.

The best way to see a lot of Ireland's beauty in a stress free way without having to build your own road trip!

Steven_B, Jul 2019
Let's take a quick look at all aspects of this tour: Pickup - This was my biggest complaint. The pickup information given is INCORRECT and tells you to wait at the tourist office near the Molly Malone statue. This office is around the corner from the statue and when you wait there you can't see nor hear anything going on at the statue. Luckily someone in the tourist office saw us there with luggage and came out to tell us that they don't pickup at the office, they pickup at the statue! Had we waited at the office only a few minutes longer, we'd have completely missed the roll call at the statue and missed the entire tour we booked our Ireland trip around. The tourist office says they've been asking for over four years to have the tour company update this and they haven't. I can only imagine all the people who have missed tours by standing in the wrong spot!! Boarding/Bus - The bus was awesome. Very comfortable, air conditioned, USB chargers, WiFi, and a washroom for emergencies. We spent a lot of time on the road, and it was the perfect coach for doing this in. My only gripe here is seating. Unlike other tours I've done, they don't make an effort to seat single travelers together, so all the singles took window seats and there were several couples on the bus who had to be broken up in order to find individual seats on their own. This happened every single day of the three days and I felt really bad for all these couples who paid a lot of money for the tour and had to spend most of their days on the road sitting completely apart, unable to share in all the amazing sights together. The tour company needs to make an effort to ensure couples can sit together and that their solo travelers don't hog all the good seats and rows. Overall Tour - we had a good mix of ages from young to old, families, couples, and solo travelers on our tour. The sights we saw were amazing and breathtaking, arguably some of the best places I've ever been to on this earth! Ireland is beautiful and this tour will let you spend three days soaking in all that beauty from all the best spots and attractions on the route taken! Another minor complaint here is that a lot of us wished there would have been more narration from the driver - it felt like there was so much more to learn about everything we were seeing and everywhere we were going, but narration was usually rather light, and also sometimes a bit too repetitive. Maybe a dedicated narrator and tour guide would be better?

3 day

Kellie S, Jun 2019
We had plenty of time to see galway, cliffs of moher, baby cliffs, waterfall, killarney, and the ring of Kerry. 3 day was just the right amount of time. Accomodations were better than expected. Met a lot of great people on the bus and in town. Thank you Alex for a great experience

A great experience!

Iandown, Jun 2019
Our guide (Alex) was a great host. He got everyone to mix and as a result, everyone had a great time. There were 39 people on the bus. About half were in their 50's and half in their 20's. There were young women travelling solo, a family with teens, and about 8 nationalities. We felt like part of a family by the third day. I will definitely recommend it to my daughters - both in their 20's.
