Great tour and guide. A lot of great history, stories and humor. Also a great walk around inner Dublin. ‘Barry’, aka Keith, was like having your distant Irish relative show you about town. Was looking forward to having a pint with him at the end but kept it professional. Thanks for the Irish hospitality. Great experience.

James did a great tour. Time limited but filled with lots of history and anecdotes. Group size was appropriate and worked well. It was a good way to get some local history in a short time.

    Constantly on the Move.

    GeraldPeter_D, Jul 2026
Lots of walking and lots of information and helpful perspectives. I could have used a more modest pace to take pictures and it would have been good to go into the various sights and not just talk about them standing outside. However, it provided a good overview of places to go back to.

We really enjoyed the Dublin Highlights and Hidden Gems Guided Walking Tour. It was an excellent introduction to the city, combining the main landmarks with interesting hidden spots that we would not have discovered on our own. Our guide, Alan, was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. He shared fascinating stories about Dublin's history, culture, and local traditions, making the tour both informative and enjoyable. His enthusiasm and storytelling kept everyone interested throughout the walk, and he was happy to answer questions along the way.

    Great afternoon with Barry!

    Katy_B, Jun 2026
This is a great walking tour for anyone looking for fun facts about Dublin! Barry was our guide, and he was delightful. The length was perfect for a quick tour of key spots. I recommend you bring something to drink and wear sunscreen if it's a sunny day.

    Walking tour of Dublin

    Teresa_P, Jun 2026
Alan was amazing! I never understood the impact of the 800 years of English imperialism until Alan took the time to explain how it impacted the Irish to be denied education, food, and even freedom to practice their religion. I was deeply touched to learn that when Ireland at long last won her freedom, she not reclaim the Catholic Churches that had been taken from her but left those in peace and built new cathedrals so that all peoples in Ireland can worship and thrive. Many thanks to Alan for explaining what the network news in our home country never could.

    Would recommend 1000%!!!

    JOLENE_F, Jun 2026
The tour was so fun! Our guide's storytelling skills and ability to bring history alive was phenomenal! The time flew by and it was well worth it.

Fantastic tour - even in the rain.

    Dana_K, Jun 2026
Bring your rain coat!!! It rained 80% of the tour. Deidre was fantastic! She knew her history, interesting facts and added personal experiences to the tour. It couldn’t have been better. Well then of course the rain, ugh!!!

Keith was very informative. He gave a lot of history and a lot of suggestions that I would not have known about otherwise.

    Don't miss this tour!

    Mark_M, Jun 2026
2 hours and 10000 steps but slow and easy walk. OUTSTANDING guide! A Dublin native who knows his history but makes it fun. Many great stories.

    Unmissable

    Trevor_B, Jun 2026
Very informative James was a fountain of knowledge and great fun and laughs. Best part of our trip to Dublin. Highly recommended

    Only History!

    Jody_J, Jun 2026
This is ONLY History. While the guide was very knowledgeable, the tour was like being in a classroom. We saw very few sites and spent time standing or sitting under a tree listening to the history. The tour lists as history but it also lists sites. Example, it said stop at Dublin Castle, we only got a glimpse of the back. I do understand the castle was closed but we barley stopped

    Response from Host, Jun 2026

Hi Jody, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I must say that I think you're being very unfair here. I believe a 1 star review is incredibly harsh. James has been guiding in Dublin for 20 years, he is by any metric an excellent guide. If you scroll through our reviews there (some of which come from the exact same tour that you were on) people literally gush about his personal charm and the depth of his knowledge. A few points to address in particular. In relation to Dublin Castle; up until this week, the castle was closed but you could still go right up and look at it. Since Ireland is taking the rotating EU presidency next week, and all EU business through the presidency will be conducted in Dublin Castle, they have increased their security, and it's no longer the case that we can get near it. It's a moving situation and we, as well as every other tour company in the city, are doing our best to accommodate people, given the circumstances. On a hot day, James will sometimes stop under a tree if he feels guests need a break from the sun. We have people of all ages on our tours, from kids in buggies to elderly people on walkers, and this is a courtesy to them to protect them from the sun. it is completely disingenuous to say that you saw no sites. While the stop might have taken place in a shaded area, every single site on the listing bar Dublin Castle was covered on this tour, and you walked all around these sights on your way in to the stop and on your way out. What you are saying is nonsense, if you didn't see anything, then you didn't look. James made numerous recommendations for traditional Irish music, Irish food, excursions, tours and activities that non-locals would not be inclined to know. The tour is also littered with jokes to keep the serious subject matter more digestible. I'd also like to point out that multiple times throughout the tour that James will ask the group if everyone is ok, if there's anything else they'd like to know etc. It's a chance to check in with everyone and make sure everyone is happy. At no stage throughout your tour did you communicate any of your issues to James; he is incredibly approachable and would have adapted to your needs. I find it a bit rich that this was such a problem for you that you feel the need to leave our business a 1-star review, and yet you did absolutely nothing in the moment to communicate any of this to your guide. It's unfortunate, but alas, what else can I do but point out how unreasonable your review really is.....

    Dublin walking tour!

    Owen_B, Jun 2026
The tour focuses on stories about people rather than dates and buildings. It feels so Irish and was totally enjoyable. Dan was a rockstar. He kept us engaged and you could tell he cared deeply about the stories he was telling.

    Excellent Tour

    Amy_T, Jun 2026
Dan was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable while also being funny and engaging! We learned a lot and had a great time! We had teenagers and adults and everyone had a good time. I highly recommend it!

If you’re deciding between Dublin tours, book this one. Our guide, Dave, struck the perfect balance of history, local anecdotes, and storytelling. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and brought personal perspective to the tour (sharing stories connected to his family’s Irish roots). The tour was well-paced and engaging throughout. Plus recommendations for pubs, restaurants, and live music. You won’t be disappointed!

    Outstanding walking tour!
