Interesting and informative experience with Dave as our excellent guide! So many insights to local highlights. Highly recommend!
Leland_N, May 2026
Our tour was excellent. The guide Ian was an excellent person to deliver a very very interesting tour. He was so knowledgeable about Ireland and he was able to describe things in a very interesting manner. He was extremely entertaining and almost a professional actor it seemed. He never missed a beat despite the rain. We saw everything that you needed to see. Be ready to walk however this is not a tour for someone who has difficulty walking.

Lots of history told through entertaining stories and with love for Ireland. We recommend this tour--particularly at the begining of your stay in Dublin. A great overview of Dublin.
Anissa_W, May 2026
Very informative and lots of great suggestions as to where to go when on our own. Our guide was Dan who was knowledgeable and entertaining

Gemma was a fantastic guide. The weather did not cooperate that day and a nearby protest unfortunately seemed to be following our tour route but Gemma did a great job of improvising and keeping us on track. Although I'm sure she's done the same tour many, many times over, it did not feel rehearsed or forced - she was a wonderful, engaging story teller including a loverly personal anecdote about her grandfather. Even with the sh!*e weather it was a great time and well worth it.

The guide left without us, after checking us in. He asked us to wait inside meeting point, and said we would leave at 1:05 PM. We came out at 1 o’clock and he had already left.
Response from Host, May 2026
Hello Elizabeth, I'm very sorry that you did not get to join us on the tour, that is very disappointing. If you had of called or emailed us, we could have directed you to exactly where Barry was at the time. There is a built in messaging function in Viator and our phone number is in your booking confirmation so it's very frustrating that you didn't try and reach out at the time yet you are happy to go on the app now in order to leave a bad review. Why is that? I must refute your timeline of events. Barry shared his call logs with me, and it's clear from these logs that he was on the phone with a customer who was having trouble finding the meeting point at 1:03, so you couldn't have come out at 1 o'clock to find he had already gone, perhaps you lost track of time? Either way please request a refund on Viator for this tour and we will happilly oblige.

Easily the best walking tour we have done. Dan was fantastic with a blend of deep historical knowledge, local culture and personal experience delivered with Irish humor. A great way to get an overview to the city of Dublin and the country of Ireland!

Our 2-hour walking tour of Dublin was the perfect introduction to the city on our first day. Gem is an exceptional guide and storyteller, bringing Dublin’s history and landmarks to life with captivating details about how major events shaped the lives of its citizens from the past through today. Highly recommended!

Wonderful tour! Helena was a terrific tour guide -- knowledgeable on the history and fable of Dublin and Ireland as a whole, all colored by her personal experience as a Dublin local. She took us to well-known places as well as interesting spots somewhat off the beaten path.
Most enjoyable!

We walked for 2 hours, this tour started in the rain, we had intermittent sun, mostly rain squals, but a few minutes of actually downpour. Umbrellas were of no use due to the wind, so dress for weather.
If you go, you will treated to wonderful stories of the area, the people and the history of the island.
I would definitely recommend this tour.

Our tour guide was wonderful! I can’t remember her name but she had curly red hair and she was very knowledgeable, had a lot of good jokes, and had a lot of personal family history in Dublin as well which was cool to see. She also gave great recommendations!

Thank you!
Julia_P, May 2026
A great introduction to the city and it's history. It provided a lot of good jumping off points for us to explore on our own, too. We had a great time!

Bring comfortable shoes, but walk your heart away. The tour is the perfect length for a walking tour and I highly recommend to take it straight off a flight!

Beverly_O, May 2026
Great walking tour with a lovely funny guide (Emily) who is a true blue Dubliner. She gave just enough history about each spot and some funny stories to keep it interesting. Would recommend for sure.
Susan_K, May 2026
Insightful history lesson! James was a wonderful guide and knew everything there was to know about Dublin. I highly recommend.
Ronald_S, May 2026
This is a great orientation to Dublin in and around Temple Bar, Dublin Castle, and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Dierdre, the guide, was absolutely fantastic: informative, lively and funny. She really schooled us all on the backstories of the patriarchal families of Dublin and the histories of the two major cathedrals. She ended the tour at the General Post Office on O'Connell Street where she recounted the events of the 1916 rebellion. However, make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes and prepare to listen. You are going to walk and learn a lot.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A brilliant introduction to Dublin through stories, history, and hidden gems
Gem made this tour exceptional.
What stood out most to my wife and me were the personal family stories Gem shared throughout the walk. They added real emotional context to the history and culture of Dublin and Ireland and made the city feel lived-in rather than simply explained.
As a playwright and storyteller, Gem has a natural gift for bringing history to life. Her pacing, delivery, humor, and ability to connect stories together made the experience feel much more personal and engaging than a typical walking tour.
Her personality added a lot to the experience too. Warm, funny, thoughtful, and approachable, she created an atmosphere that made the group feel comfortable from the beginning.
We were especially glad we did this tour on our first full day in Ireland. It helped orient us to Dublin’s landmarks, neighborhoods, and history, while also giving us confidence and context for exploring the city on our own afterward.
Immediately following the tour, we had lunch nearby at The Pepper Pot in the beautiful Powerscourt Townhouse Centre. Tucked inside an elegant historic Georgian space with balconies overlooking the central atrium, it felt exactly like the kind of hidden gem Gem had been helping us discover throughout the tour. Excellent food, atmosphere, and a place we absolutely would not have found on our own.
After the tour, we searched online and found many reviews from other guests praising Gem’s storytelling, energy, humor, and deep knowledge of Dublin. We completely understand why so many people specifically mention her by name.
