Just okay, experience not worth the $

I got picked up at 4 and was packed like sardines into the bus that had no air conditioning or circulation on. We arrived at a place to eat (just ok) and there was no communication about that being the last bathroom for another like 2 hrs. The whole group was spanish except for me, so some things just got missed which is fine. The experience was okay, except when we got to the base and I was put on a horse - I told the guy in spanish that I wanted a different horse. He completely ignored me. He asked at some point and I explained it was too small for me and it made me uncomfortable like I'd fall, he responded saying that it wasn't true and then progressed to go faster even though I kept telling him to slow down in spanish. I finally got up there and the rainbow mountain itself was a great experience. But that just exists on its own, so I'm mostly evaluating this actual service. On the way down, you're supposed to get a horse too. No one would give me a horse, even when I showed my ticket. I explained I had a billete de ida y vuelta / rotunda and I explained but they kept asking me for a picture or something. I could not find anyone in my group because some people walked and some people rode a horse....so I had trouble navigating and wasn't given whatever docs I needed to get back down. I pretty much paid so much money for horses when that wasn't even something I really experienced. The rainbow mountain itself is great.

Great small group tour

Rainbow mountain is a must visit if you are in Quito! I had a wonderful time with this small group tour. The altitude of over 5000m can be challenging so riding a horse definitely helps. Picked up in private vehicle, included an excellent breakfast and lunch and the guide was great and informative. Would recommend acclimatising 1-2 days in Cusco before going to rainbow mountain.

Poor company-did not pick us up

Unfortunately I have no photos to share as we did not get picked up for this tour! Waited for over an hour with no call or contact. We stayed at an Airbnb so we had to use a hotel for our pick up location-the company called the hotel to see if we were staying there and since we were not they did not pick us up. No one called us to verify, however , we did get a confirmation email the day before at 3pm. The morning of, we waited over an hour outside of the hotel (in 30degree weather) and no ride showed nor did anyone call us. We reached out that morning to The company multiple times and different ways with no response until the afternoon! We are now having to fight to get our refund. Do not book with this company!!

Dear Lauren, we respond to your bad comment, as we had responded directly through the viator platform. Unfortunately we do not agree with your comment, because you provided wrong information about your cell phone number (so you could not be contacted by that means) and your hotel (so we were not clear where to send our transport), never answered our confirmation and did not specify that the hotel you registered for the tour was referential, you only contacted us the day of the tour at 4 am when our operations center is closed and all final arrangements are made at least one day before. However you were given the option of reimbursement and in spite of this you made a comment with bad intentions, we hope you can rectify it.
