Jay the tour guide is very friendly, knowledgeable and keen to share stories of the pandas. Tour allowed enough time to see the pandas. Wonderful experience!

We had the most amazing time on our Panda trip to Dujingyan 😊 we saw several pandas up close. Our tour guide Jay was absolutely incredible, very knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the animals. He went above and beyond on our trip, and made the whole experience one of the best trips we’ve ever done. After the Pandas we went to a lovely ancient town, which included beautiful food and seeing the sites of the old town. Thank you Jay for such an amazing experience!

Thanks Jay!!! The pandas were adorable and we stopped to visit one of the ancient towns nearby afterwards. Good driver and lunch was also very good!!

This was an excellent excursion. My guide Jay picked me up promptly at my hotel. He was very knowledgeable about Chengdu, pandas and tourism in China in general. When we got to the pandas, he was able to tell me about the individual pandas themselves and their personalities!
Unfortunately, the rules for interacting with the pandas were restricted right after I booked this excursion, so the panda keeper part of this booking was not as described. There is nothing the tour operator could have done about this. For the Panda Keeper part, I was with a small group of 8 to 9 year old kids. I teach pre-K here in China, so this didn’t bother me. We watched a documentary on the panda preservation project, then the kids learned how to make a water pipeline using bamboo. I just took pictures. Then we learned to make panda cakes. The kids weighed out the ingredients, but I jumped in to mix everything up and make cakes. The kids started to overcome their shyness and started practicing their English with me. Some of them were very good!
On the ride back to Chengdu, Jay gave me some advice on my further travels through China. I highly recommend this excursion and Jay as a guide especially.

Guide Finz was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. His English language skills were excellent. I would repeat with him next time I am in Chengdu.

Booking this experience paid for admission into the park, an English speaking tour guide, and transportation from our hotel to the pandas and back. It also included lunch at the panda park and a visit to a nearby panda village. Our tour guides Jay and Cheryl were well knowledgeable and very friendly. I would highly recommend booking with them. They took care of getting us there in a timely manner, purchasing our tickets, and helping us every step of the way. Upon arrival, we were offered the opportunity to participate in the optional panda keeper experience for an additional 900CNY (~$125). After having done the experience, I would highly recommend it! Participating in the panda keeper experience allowed us behind the scenes, into the panda enclosures, and with direct contact of the pandas. We were able to help clean the outdoor panda gardens, the indoor panda cages, make panda protein cakes, feed the pandas two different times, prepare food for the pandas, watch a documentary about pandas and efforts to help increase their population, and explore every inch of the park itself. Meeting the different pandas was incredible! We learned about each of their individual stories, how they got to the panda park, and what their journey after might be like. Overall, I would encourage everyone to participate in the panda keeper experience. Not only does it benefit the pandas and the park, but you also get the experience of a lifetime!

We had the BEST tour of the pandas. Cheryl, our tour guide, was excellent. Such an incredible experience! Highly recommended.

My tour guide Sheryl was more than helpful. She provided immense amount of information on pandas and she helped taking pictures. Since I was fasting that day, Jay and Sheryl took me to Kung fu panda village, which was interesting to see. Overall, a great experience with friendly and knowledgeable tour guides. Highly recommended

Jay was a great host. He was very knowledgeable and quite personable. He made the experience really amazing. Even gave us some great tips for breakfast the next morning.

What a fantastic day! It was a long drive to the centre but the scenery on the drive was interesting. We then worked hard scooping up poop and bamboo (glad it was winter so the smell wasn't bad!) We also got to make panda cakes and feed a panda. It was the highlight of our China trip.

Going to see the pandas in China and actually holding one was a dream come true. My tour guides were amazing. They were on time, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the pandas and the Dujiangyan base center. The ancient city tour was also a highlight of my trip. I would definitely recommend this package to my friends.

My family had a great time on this tour! We held and feed the pandas, which was an incredible experience! Our guide for the day was Jay and he was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating with everything we wanted. He knew all of the pandas by name, how old they were, how they behave etc. We also learned a lot from him about the region, culture, and life in China throughout the day. During the tour we asked if we could try hot pot for lunch since that is very popular in Sichuan, so Jay took us to a great restaurant, helped us order, and we had a great time trying food that we otherwise wouldn't have ordered! Before heading to the airport we asked to visit one of the temples in town which was a great way to end the day. Overall it was one of the best days we had during our entire trip.

It was an amazing experience!! That day Dujiangyan was expecting a lot of visitors, so we went to Wolong center instead. The opportunity to interact and touch such a rare animal is awesome. I did the photo and feeding option and was done around lunch time. My guide was Sean, and I would highly recommend him. Good English, clean car, prompt pic-up, knows a lot about pandas. We had lunch after panda visit in the nearby town, the weather was great, and the drive to to Wolong goes through tunnels, mountains- very scenic!

Went with my daughter. We both did the feeding and she did the holding. She really enjoyed hugging a panda. The feeding/cleaning is definitely worth the money. Same with the hugging - when else in your life will you get to hug a panda.

This was one of the most amazing experiences!
Our tour guide was so wonderful and knowledgeable. You could tell that he really loved the pandas and cared about them. The Dujiangyan Panda Center is a true rescue and rehab facility--not a tourist center. Our time with the panda was very short, which was a little disappointing, but it was very memorable. We also loved spending time watching the other older pandas who were getting ready to be released back into the wild. Our guide knew each one's name and had info on their personalities and habits. After spending time with the pandas we had the most amazing meal at a small, off the beaten path restaurant. It was one of the best meals of the trip! Then we went to an ancient village and spent some time walking around, eating steamed buns and shopping. It was an incredible day!

This was so good from start to finish we had the best time, air condition car to panda centre taking about 2 hours when we arrived we had a look around the panda houses they where out and eating spent a good few hours just looking at these wonderful animals, we then went to office where we were given boiler suits to put on you only get a very small amount of time with the pandas but the staff were very helpful they took lots of photos on my phone, as well as both of us taking some with a camera. can not rate this highly enough we had the best time.

The tour was great. Jay and Lareina were punctual, courteous and caring. Panda holding was awesome. The ancient town was charming. Overall, this is amazing experience.

The best tour we had in China! Daisy and Yay are great, very knowledgable and courteous. They were on time and confirmed the booking prior to arrival. The vehicle is spacious and air-conditioned, very comfortable ride. Panda holding experience although very quick was amazing! Daisy spend the afternoon with us showing around Chendgu, very enjoyable! We also on the advice of the tour guides went to try the famous Hot Pot in Chengdu which was very much enjoyed. I recommend this tour to everyone 100! daisy, we will be back to the lovely Sichuan province!
Sabattini_E, Mar 2018
We highly recommend this tour! Jay and Daisy were exceptional, punctual , caring and welcoming. The Panda Experience was more than expected. The pictures with the Panda were worth everything.Lunch was delicious and fun. The Ancient Town was charming and authentic. With Jay, satisfaction guaranteed

My husband and I booked the 2pax Private car tour the last minute day before and contacted Jay our contact right away to make sure that he received my reservations. They didn't have enough cars so he made arrangements just to make sure our reservation would be accommodated.
The night before our tour, my husband got food poisoning we were coming from Xi'an and informed Jay right away that he wont be able to go and suggested to reschedule my husband the day after. He was very nice about the whole situation and accommodated our request. My husband got to go the day after.
The panda holding is such a surreal experience. You have to pay a little bit more but I thought it was worth it. : I dont think any other panda facilities in China has this kind of option for tourists. From start to finish, we were very comfortable and our guide Bella was very nice, approachable and knowledgeable. She even went out of her way to help me find a pharmacy to buy medicine for my husband.

This tour was perfect. Everything went as expected. We were picked up from our hotel on time. We spent about an hour preparing bamboo and cleaning the enclosures while getting up close with the Pandas. After this we had our Panda holding and feeding, before walking around the park again. The Panda Center is beautiful and the Pandas are well cared for. Our tour guide Jay was also wonderful. He was extremely enthusiastic and also took us in his lunch time around the Old Town and Temple near by.

Jay was an amazing guide with excellent English and went out of the way to make sure i had a great experience and was happy in every way! Thanks jay

This tour was a once in a lifetime opportunity to really be close to the pandas. Not sure how much longer China will even allow this type of interaction. The center has many pandas including the ones that were in the Washington DC zoo before they went back to China. However, interacting with the panda was an unbelievable experience! Their is a cost about 300 in addition to the tour per person at the center but it was a truly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

A fantastic trip and tour guide. The panda holding experience was something very special. Jay, our tour guide, arrived promptly at our hotel with the driver, and delighted us with lots of information about pandas and their care en route and answered all sorts of questions that we had. We got to see lots of pandas at the center before we were taken to suit up and go out to the Panda holding experience. Because we were a smaller group we got a bit longer with the panda than the usual 30 seconds which was great! They let you sit right next to the panda while it happily munches on bamboo and you get to stroke it/gently hug it if you wish it's the ears/belly that you're told not to touch and basically not to hug it too tight for obvious reasons. Once we were done, Jay accommodated our request for an early lunch and I got to try some authentic Szechuan cuisine. The temple trip was very serene once we got to the top and we got plenty of good pics. We were then driven back to our hotel and given some great tips about the area and places to go. Once again I can't thank Jay enough - it was refreshing to have a fluent and flexible tour guide and the panda holding experience was amazing

Meeting the pandas were very quick but this tour is definitely worth it! Our tour guide was Louis and I highly recommend him! He's very knowledgeable, fluent in English and has a great sense of humor. He was able to give us a lot of information about the pandas and much more about China. Good job!!!

Jay was amazing! He picked us up promptly at 8am for our tour. Jay provided a driver to get to the preserve from our hotel. Unfortunately the taking care of the pandas option was full, but he was able to get my daughter the holding the panda option. Side note, if you are only doing this option the panda center does not allow you to accompany them if you aren't doing the option too. Someone else took the pictures of my daughter holding the panda. As we live near Washington, DC, being able to see the pandas who were born in DC was amazing. Jay gave us a lovely tour of the panda preserve. He speaks English which is important as we don't speak Chinese. We asked if we could add the Shaolin Tempke option since we couldn't do the care option. He said yes. It was so worth it. Not a lot of westerners do it, but it was great. Lots of stair though. He took us to a nice restaurant nearby and we tried some local dishes. Bamboo shoots and sweet potato shoots were super tasty. He also helped us get the train tickets for the rest of our vacation. This was a God send because finding people who speak English is extremely difficult. He and the driver dropped us back off at our hotel. I highly recommend Jay and his tour.

I hesitated a lot about the trip. I decided to pay the 250 for the panda shot. It was really cool! Plus, the rest of the tour, particularly with Jay, was great. I would go for this panda place rather than the babies.

We had a great day and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction and whole experience. Given the location of the Centre we were actually picked up at 7:30am due to Monday morning traffic not the 8am as suggested. We a group of 4 adults had requested to 'donate' to do the feeding and holding. Our guide Heather was brilliant. We were very lucky to have her.
Feeding the Panda's
We were not aware that this had to include cleaning out the Panda enclosure. Without cleaning you could not feed. You get chance to clean and feed twice in the day. When you feed the Panda's you get given some small bits of bamboo and the chance to take some photographs. We decided to do the feeding and cleaning once only for the afternoon instead of cleaning the enclosure again, we were able to make some panda cakes- effectively food that Panda's are given to eat in addition to Bamboo.
Holding the Panda
Whilst the trip says you get to 'hold, kiss, touch' this isn't strictly true. You get to sit beside a panda and have your photo taken each person is given approx 20 seconds. You can stroke the panda but not kiss or hug the panda. However, the whole experience of being so up close to the Panda, being able to stroke the Panda was unforgettable and very memorable.
Overall, a brilliant day and we would definitely recommend. Your guide also walks you around the difference enclosures and you get to watch a video for 45 mins which is very informative. Lastly, the tour says that food is not included yet would have eaten food was provided albeit very limited however we did take our lunch with us anyway.

Summer our guide arrived to our hotel on time, the trip to Dujiangyan panda center was pleasant, we even took a little nap in the car. pandas have always been my obsession, so the idea of being close to one was amazing. You can pet the panda while she is eating bamboo shoots, for me, those were the fastest 30 seconds in my life. This activity has to be paid in cash at the panda center, we had originally made the reservation for the feeding, but the day before the tour, we were told that we should do some cleaning at the pandas facilities in order to do the feeding but we didnt do it. The panda center is huge, it's been the only time in my life where I've seen the pandas that close, they were also awake, munching on the bamboo shoots because the weather was cold and rainy. We enjoyed this tour. I'd offer one suggestion for thr center: keep the washrooms clean! Or let the people who pay for this activity to use separate washrooms.... they were a nightmare
