We had a wonderful time! Our guide, Matt, was great and very knowledgeable. He explained the environment and the importance of its part of the local ecosystem. There was at least one dolphin spotted during our trip. He took his time so we could all watch it. Thanks Matt for a great trip. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We went out with Captain Chris. It was an enjoyable time. We got to see the dolphins and Chris was able to get the dolphins to come up and surf the waves from the boat. We walked beaches and we learned a lot of history about the lowcountry. Chris was amazing and we really enjoyed our time as well as the rest of the people on the tour.

A great boat tour! Very informative and enjoyable! Our captain, Chris, is a native and shared many interesting facts about the region. I highly recommend this trip for all ages!

Refreshing

Markeith_W, Mar 2026
I had no idea what I was going to experience! Capt Matt was awesome! He was attentive to the questions of everyone, even the children. He made sure we saw the dolphins and his history lesson was informative. He is respectful of the water and those that are in it. Definitely wear sandals so you can put your feet in the sand and water.. and bring something to carry seashells in.

Very pretty, not so much to see

Martin_T, Mar 2026
We were excited to see lots of birds, dolphins and more. It is no fault of our captain, who was great or the boat, which was very clean and nice, it was just luck I guess. We did see a few dolphins, a pelican and an heron but I was expecting the marshy areas to be teaming with wildlife, especially at dusk. Also, an hour on a deserted island looking at broken oyster shells is too long.

Must book experience

Dolphin viewing & beach time!

Jennifer_S, Mar 2026
You’ll get an enjoyable 45-minute boat ride through the low country to Morris Island, an hour on the beach & another nice ride back to where you began. We saw several dolphins, a beautiful Great White Egret & several Snowy Egrets. We also learned about the ecosystem & a bit about seafood commerce. On the beach, there are lots of shells & some sandolars. Bring a backpack with a beach towel, drinks & snacks (maybe a frisbee, ball to throw or sand toys). We took pics with the lighthouse in the background, but it is inaccessible (surrounded by water due to erosion of the island).

Hi Chris’s mom. He did a great job. You should be so proud. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about this area.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

This is such a great message—Chris will definitely appreciate it, and his mom would be proud! His knowledge and genuine passion for the area really come through on every trip, and that energy makes the experience so much more meaningful for everyone on board. Charleston Outdoor Adventures is lucky to have guides like Chris who care deeply about the waterways, wildlife, and sharing that connection with guests. Moments like this are exactly what make the tours so memorable.

Nice trip

Kathy_J, Mar 2026
Nice trip to the coast near the lighthouse. You do not actually get close to or hear much about the lighthouse. Equipment was in great shape and it felt safe. Tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. For some reason we were supposed to check out at the end which was a long slow line and seemed unnecessary and ended the trip on a down note. Would do it again though-worthwhile trip!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It’s great to hear you felt safe and well taken care of on the water, and that the equipment and guide helped make the experience enjoyable. A knowledgeable guide and well-maintained gear really go a long way in creating a comfortable trip. Your note about the lighthouse is appreciated. While the tours do pass by and provide views of it, the focus is often more on the surrounding ecosystem, wildlife, and time on the island. Feedback like yours helps Charleston Outdoor Adventures better understand how to balance those elements and set clearer expectations for guests who are especially interested in the lighthouse itself. The check-out process at the end is also helpful to hear about. That step is typically used to ensure all guests are accounted for and equipment is properly returned, but a long wait can definitely take away from an otherwise great experience. That’s something the team can continue to improve to make the ending feel as smooth as the rest of the trip. It’s encouraging that you would still do the tour again and found it worthwhile overall. Input like yours helps make the experience even better for future guests.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

What a great experience to be part of. Matt sounds like he made the trip both informative and memorable, taking the time to explain how important the marsh and waterways are to the local ecosystem while keeping things engaging for everyone on board. Moments like slowing down to watch a dolphin are what make these trips so special. Having a captain who is patient and intentional about those sightings allows everyone to really take it in instead of rushing past it. Charleston Outdoor Adventures puts a lot of care into making sure guests not only enjoy the scenery but also leave with a better understanding of the environment. It’s wonderful to hear your group had such a meaningful and enjoyable time, and we hope to have you back out on the water again soon.

Great Experience

Amy_S, Mar 2026
This hidden gem is a must! Chris was an awesome Captain; he loves what he is doing! He gave us a lot of details of the marshes, rivers, and wildlife. Our daughter loved seeing the dolphins and cruising the shoreline for shells. We will definitely be back!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Finding a “hidden gem” like this always makes a trip feel even more special, and it sounds like your time on the water was exactly that. Chris truly brings a lot to each tour—his passion for the marshes, rivers, and wildlife comes through in the way he shares details and connects guests to the area. Seeing your daughter enjoy the dolphins and the excitement of searching the shoreline for shells is what these trips are all about. Those moments—spotting wildlife, cruising along the coast, and exploring the beach—create lasting family memories. Charleston Outdoor Adventures takes pride in offering experiences that feel both personal and immersive, and it’s great to hear your family connected with it in such a meaningful way. Looking forward to having you back out on the water for another memorable day!

Our trip was exceptional....

Michelle_Z, Mar 2026
Our trip was exceptional. Our guides gave us a tour of the marshes and rivers. We learned about local wildlife and enjoyed searching for shells at the lighthouse. The trip had a fantastic ending with the sight of several dolphins.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

That sounds like an incredible experience from start to finish. Exploring the marshes and rivers offers such a unique look at the Lowcountry, and learning about the local wildlife along the way makes the trip even more meaningful. The time spent at the lighthouse searching for shells is always a favorite—there’s something special about walking the beach and discovering those little treasures. Ending the trip with several dolphin sightings is the perfect finale and one that tends to stick with you long after the day is over. Charleston Outdoor Adventures works hard to create trips that blend education, exploration, and memorable wildlife encounters, and it’s great to hear your outing delivered on all of that. We’d love to have you back out on the water again soon!

Lovely day with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We saw dolphins close up, learned about oysters, the lighthouse and walked on the beach.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like you had a truly memorable day on the water! Seeing dolphins up close is always a highlight, and having a guide who is both knowledgeable and friendly makes those moments even more special. Learning about the local oysters, the lighthouse, and the surrounding ecosystem adds a rich layer of understanding to the trip. Walking on the beach provides that perfect hands-on experience—searching for shells, spotting wildlife, and enjoying the coastal scenery makes the day feel both relaxing and adventurous. Charleston Outdoor Adventures works hard to create outings that balance education, wildlife encounters, and fun, and it sounds like your tour hit all of those notes.

Fun & educational

karmablu3, Mar 2026
Educational fun experience for the whole family. Captain Jacob was very knowledgeable with interesting facts and very humorous.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like your family had a fantastic time! Tours that combine education and fun are the best way to keep everyone engaged, whether young or old. Captain Jacob clearly made a big impression—sharing interesting facts while keeping things light and humorous helps make the trip memorable for everyone. Learning about the local ecosystem, wildlife, and history while laughing along the way is exactly the kind of experience Charleston Outdoor Adventures aims to provide. Moments like spotting dolphins, observing birds, or walking along the shoreline become even more special when paired with a guide who knows how to bring the stories to life. Family-friendly tours like this create memories that last well beyond the day on the water, and it’s great to hear that your group enjoyed every moment.

Relaxing Eco Tour

Blanca_C, Mar 2026
Excellent tour to be outside and learn about the eco system . Spend time in Morris Island for a walk and look for seashells. If you’re lucky you may find some shark teeth!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

It sounds like you had a fantastic day exploring both the waterways and the shoreline! Tours like this are such a great way to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and learn about the Lowcountry ecosystem. Having a knowledgeable guide helps bring the surroundings to life, pointing out wildlife, tidal patterns, and the unique plants that make the marsh and islands so special. Spending time on Morris Island is always a highlight. Walking the beach, searching for seashells, and the thrill of spotting shark teeth makes the experience both relaxing and exciting. Those small treasures you find in the sand often become the most memorable keepsakes of the trip. Charleston Outdoor Adventures designs these tours to combine education, wildlife viewing, and hands-on exploration, and it sounds like your outing delivered on all fronts. 🌊🐬🐚

Great experience

Melanie_B, Mar 2026
The boat captain/guide was awesome. He shared so much about the natural environment in the water and on land. I do wish we would have been able to sit longer just to watch the Dolphins.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Having an awesome captain really shapes the entire outing, especially when he takes the time to explain what’s happening both in the water and along the shoreline. Understanding how the marsh, tides, and wildlife all connect adds so much meaning to the experience instead of just cruising past the scenery. Wanting more time to sit and simply watch the dolphins is completely understandable. Those quiet moments when they surface, travel in pods, or feed together tend to be the highlight of the trip. The captains at Charleston Outdoor Adventures do their best to balance wildlife viewing with overall tour timing, tides, and giving guests time on the island, but feedback like yours is always valuable. Time spent observing dolphins in their natural habitat never feels long enough, and that desire to linger usually means the experience truly made an impression.

Must Do Experience!

Mallory_W, Mar 2026
My husband and I booked this as we wanted to see some hidden treasures around Charleston. Chris was our tour guide and WOW! He was so knowledgeable and he truly loves his job and the beautiful ecosystem. Totally worth it as it was 3 hours long including a whole hour on a beach finding stunning shells and shark teeth! Highly Recommend and we will be back!

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Exploring the hidden treasures around Charleston is such a great reason to get out on the water, and it sounds like you chose well. Having Chris as your guide clearly made the experience even more meaningful. His deep knowledge of the ecosystem, paired with genuine enthusiasm for the waterways and wildlife, tends to make every stop along the route feel intentional and memorable. Spending three hours immersed in the scenery — especially with a full hour on the beach — allows plenty of time to slow down and really enjoy the surroundings. Searching for stunning shells and shark teeth along Morris Island adds that hands-on sense of discovery that so many guests love. There’s something special about walking the shoreline with the lighthouse in view and the sound of the waves in the background. Charleston Outdoor Adventures works hard to create outings that feel personal, educational, and relaxing all at once. Knowing you found it totally worth it and plan to return speaks volumes. Looking forward to welcoming you both back for another memorable day on the water.

Hold on to your hat. Get ready to see dolphins up close Great opportunity to look for shells Beautiful beach walks

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Hold on to your hat is right — when the boat picks up a little breeze and dolphins start surfacing nearby, the excitement kicks in quickly. Seeing dolphins up close in their natural habitat never gets old, and those moments when they surface near the boat tend to be the ones everyone talks about afterward. The opportunity to hop off and search for shells adds a perfect hands-on element to the trip. Beachcombing along Morris Island offers that peaceful, unhurried time to wander, look for treasures, and take in the wide-open coastal views. Long, beautiful beach walks paired with wildlife sightings create a balance of energy and relaxation that makes the entire outing feel complete. Charleston Outdoor Adventures loves creating experiences where guests can feel the breeze, spot dolphins, explore untouched shoreline, and truly soak in the beauty of the Lowcountry — all in one memorable trip.

Seeing the sights in the Everglades

Eileen_H, Feb 2026
Great experience with a knowledgeable guide! Beautiful outdoor activity! A little issue…even when you pre-purchase your tickets you have to get in a line upon arrival…takes some time.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

It’s great to hear you had such a positive time on the water. A knowledgeable guide really elevates the experience, especially when you’re surrounded by such beautiful scenery. Being outdoors, learning about the ecosystem, and taking in the natural setting makes for a refreshing and memorable activity. Thank you as well for mentioning the check-in process. Even with pre-purchased tickets, there can sometimes be a short wait upon arrival as the team verifies reservations, organizes groups, and ensures everyone is properly accounted for before departure. While that extra step can take a little time, it helps the tours run smoothly and safely once on the water. Charleston Outdoor Adventures is always working to balance efficiency with personalized service, and feedback like yours is helpful. We’re glad the overall experience and time outside made it worthwhile!

Fantastic tour!

Wendy_H, Jan 2026
We were a bit nervous when our uber driver headed down a gravel road, but we shouldn't have worried. The boat was nice and this was a fantastic tour! Chris, our guide, had the perfect mix of knowledge about the ecosystem, animals, and history. He was funny, personable, and great with his boat handling skills. We saw sooo many dolphins. The island was beautiful with amazing shelling. We take many tours and thought this one was top notch! We capped it off with lunch at the Bowen Island Restaurant! Excellent!

Response from Host, Jan 2026

That initial drive can definitely feel a little unexpected, but moments like that often lead to the most rewarding experiences. Once on the water, everything seems to fall into place, and hearing how much you enjoyed the tour really says a lot. Chris brings a special balance to his trips, blending a deep understanding of the ecosystem, wildlife, and local history with humor and an easygoing personality that helps everyone feel comfortable right away. Strong boat handling and a relaxed pace allow guests to focus on the surroundings rather than the logistics. Seeing so many dolphins is always a highlight, and those encounters tend to turn an already enjoyable outing into something truly memorable. Time on the island sounds just as special, especially with the shelling opportunities and natural beauty that make it feel like a true escape. For guests who take a lot of tours, calling this one top notch speaks volumes. Experiences that combine education, wildlife, scenery, and a guide who clearly loves what he does often end up standing out long after the trip is over.

Unique, Fun Experience for the Whole Family

Howard_B, Jan 2026
I can’t tell you how much my family and I loved this experience. Chris was fantastic! He was incredibly knowledgeable and created such a fun experience for everyone on the trip. He took time to stop along the way on our boat trip to the island, and point out dolphins, birds, and other wildlife. He talked to us about the local ecosystem, sharing fascinating insights into how locals fish, harvest oysters, and catch shrimp. We got to spend ample time on the beach looking for seashells and exploring Morris Island. If you’re looking for something to do that’s outside the city and not touristy, this is a great way to spend an afternoon in nature. Shoutout to Chris’ mom!

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Hearing how meaningful this experience was for your family truly speaks to what makes time on the water so special. Chris has a real gift for turning a boat ride into something memorable, blending his deep knowledge of the local ecosystem with an easygoing, welcoming style that keeps everyone engaged. Taking the time to pause along the route so everyone could watch dolphins, spot birds, and observe other wildlife adds so much to the experience, especially for families who want to slow down and really take everything in. Sharing details about how locals fish, harvest oysters, and catch shrimp helps connect the landscape to the people who depend on these waters every day, and that local perspective often becomes one of the most memorable parts of the trip. The time on Morris Island sounds especially well spent, with plenty of freedom to explore, search for shells, and enjoy the natural beauty without feeling rushed or crowded. Experiences like this highlight why so many families choose Charleston Outdoor Adventures when they want something relaxed, educational, and away from the busier parts of town. Time in nature, thoughtful storytelling, and a guide who genuinely cares about sharing the Lowcountry all come together here. And that shoutout to Chris’ mom made us smile — kindness, patience, and passion clearly run in the family.

Highly Recommend!

Krista_W, Jan 2026
We had a fantastic trip to watch dolphins and check out a beach. We found a bunch of sand dollars, learned a lot about the area and saw a number of dolphins. It was a great trip and Jacob was a knowledgeable, fun guide!

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Spending time on the water watching dolphins and exploring the beach often ends up being one of those experiences people talk about long after the trip is over, and this sounds like a perfect example of that. Finding a bunch of sand dollars while learning more about the area adds such a fun, hands-on element, especially when paired with multiple dolphin sightings along the way. Those moments tend to make the trip feel both relaxing and exciting at the same time. Jacob does a great job balancing education with fun, and hearing that his knowledge and personality helped shape your experience really highlights what makes these trips special. Having a guide who enjoys sharing local history, wildlife details, and little insights about the waterways makes everything feel more personal and engaging. Charleston Outdoor Adventures works hard to create outings that feel welcoming, informative, and memorable, and your experience reflects that goal well. Time on the water, a beach full of treasures, and dolphins nearby is a combination that’s hard to beat, and it’s great to know this trip delivered on all fronts.

A perfect afternoon in the low country.

susan_c, Dec 2025
Very informative and a different kind of tourist experience. Our guide Chris obviously enjoys leading the tours and has many anecdotes and local lore to impart.

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Hearing how much you appreciated the informative side of the tour really captures what sets this experience apart. Chris brings a genuine enthusiasm to every outing, and that enjoyment clearly comes through in the way he leads the group and connects people to the area. His anecdotes and bits of local lore add depth to the trip, helping guests understand not just what they are seeing, but why the marsh, waterways, and surrounding islands matter so much to Charleston’s history and culture. That blend of storytelling, local knowledge, and time on the water creates a tourist experience that feels thoughtful and engaging rather than routine. Guides like Chris take pride in sharing personal insights and lesser-known details, which often become the moments guests remember most. Charleston Outdoor Adventures aims to offer tours that feel authentic and enriching, and feedback like this shows how meaningful that approach can be.

Worth every penny.

scott_b, Nov 2025
We saw plenty of dolphins, cormorants, pelicans, and found sand dollars and sharks teeth on the beach. The bost ride can be quite windy and chilly in late November but definitely worth it. Matt was our captain and guide and was great.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Charleston Outdoor Adventures is glad your trip offered such a full mix of wildlife and beach discoveries. Late November often brings crisp wind across the water, but that cooler air can make dolphin activity even more exciting, and it sounds like you had an excellent day for wildlife with cormorants, pelicans, and plenty of dolphins around the boat. Time on Morris Island is always a highlight, especially when the shoreline turns up treasures like sand dollars and shark teeth. Matt has a steady, thoughtful way of guiding that helps guests enjoy both the scenery and the learning experience, and your note reflects exactly why so many visitors appreciate his tours. Even with the chill, the combination of wildlife, open water, and beachcombing clearly made the trip worthwhile. Hoping your next outing with COA offers the same energy — maybe with a warmer breeze.
