Overview
On this personalized, small-group up to 6 people per vehicle. Travel in a comfortable 4WD drive vehicle to off-road locations that you wouldn’t be able to access by bus or minibus. Venture from Kaliviani village to a viewpoint above the spectacular Balos Lagoon and then on to Falassarna Beach. As an extra perk, a sunbed is reserved for you on the beach, and lunch is provided at a local restaurant.

Excellent day tour to the beach with a stop off at Balos view point. The guide was great and kept us entertained throughout. There were only 2 couples on the small tour and this a huge olus. The beach was great!!!

Fantastic tour! Yiannis was an excellent guide! We all learned so much from him about Crete. There is no way we would try to drive up to the lookout without an experienced driver. Falassarna was a wonderful beach experience - easy to see why it’s one of the best beaches in the world.

Our guide Nickolas was amazing and we had a great time. We learned so much about Cretan culture, Falassarna beach was stunning, the food was great and everything ran efficiently the whole day. We were lucky to have a private trip. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. It’s a quick visit to an overlook of Balos followed by lunch and beach time on a less occupied beach. I only gave 3 stars because the drive to the overlook was terrifying as well as the drive out of town. A bit expensive for the trip. A good day besides the drive.

We can't change the terrain and we can't manage the car traffic. We can manage all the other services as we did. What is terrify for you, it's not for the 99.9% of the other people who visit Balos.To rate the tour 3/5 stars because of the traffic and the rough road to Balos it's not fair for our services. There is only one road to Balos and we describe that is a rough road of 12 miles. You have to recognize that you booked a wrong tour because of your phobias. We didn't do something wrong as you mentioned on your review. We offered the tour as we describe it.

The description of this was a little misleading. A jeep tour in the US means something more than a SUV LandRover which is the vehicle that was used to drive us around. We went up a hill to a view spot and got to feed some goats which was fun, but there wasn’t really much to this first part of the trip. Then he drove us to a beach. When I first booked the trip it said that we would have front row loungers. The pictures from previous trips showed that but when we got there we were put in the second row under a stationary umbrella and crowded into a space that didn’t have sun. The food at lunch was good and our guide was great- Nicholas, but I really don’t understand the cost of this trip. We booked a trip from Athens to Delphi which was much longer and had entrance fees and a guide the entire time for much less. If you don’t have any other way of getting to the beach this was good, but I think you can find something less expensive.

Everything on the tour description is accurate for thousands of our guests every year, except one, you. You had 100% the services as we describe. With a 4wd vehicle (Land Rover), sunbeds and umbrellas as we describe (behind the cabanas) and we don't use the word loungers on the description. Yes it was not sun under the umbrellas as you mentioned, but for that reason the people use the umbrellas. The Viator unfortunately permits reviews like that one to be online but I don't permit you, to write that we are liars and dishonests and that the description is misleading! We are not liers, we are not dishonests and the most important we are not therapists. We are just very unclucky that you were on a tour with our company because you didn't read anything at all from the description and at the end you decided to write that under the umbrellas there was not sun and to compare prices for transfers in asphalt with tours on rough roads and lunch. We can't help you but we can help the future customers to clarify a few things about your ability what you read and what you undestand and imagine.

Had a great time with our family with 2 kids 9 and 11. We had an air conditioned SUV drive us the whole way. Demetrius, our driver, was amazing and gave us great history, culture, and Greek language lessons. The beach was beautiful with comfortable chairs with umbrellas and the place had changing rooms. The restaurant food was good and we had a large spread to try different Greek foods.

Amazing trip! First we went to see Balos from above, breathtaking view and we took wonderful pictures! On our way there, we saw a lot of cute goats and we could feed them a little bit of banana peel! Then we went to Falassarna beach to swim. The most beautiful turquoise clear water ever! Mesmerizing beach! After 3 hours, we had lunch at a beach restaurant and ate delicious traditional Greek food like lamb, moussaka and greek salad. Our guide Yannis was so friendly and kind, he gave us a lot of interesting information about Crete’s history and many other fun things like greek names and traditions! Never a dull moment in the car! Overall we loved this experience and 100% recommend to everyone!

Was a great experience! Bill/Vassili was an excellent guide and so knowledgeable. It was a fun filled day doing adventurous things. Balos beach was stunning and Falassarna beach was beautiful and relaxing. We enjoyed a nice meal as well! Would highly recommend!

Breathtaking views, very informative guide and a delicious lunch. Balos had been on my bucket list for a very long time and I was ever so grateful somebody else was driving me there in a 4WD. Yiannis even had snacks for the goats! I highly recommend this tour.

Very enjoyable experience with our knowledgeable and helpful guide, Yannis, and two other tourists - it is an intimate experience, so it's helpful if the other tourists are nice people, as ours were! I was disappointed the beach beds were not in the front row - it's misleading somewhat as it says first row "with umbrellas", but this is behind a load of big beach beds, and we felt very claustrophobic.

Our tour guide Nikolas.was great! He took us out to the mountains above balos beach, and helped us to feed the goats. So so cool! He taught us a lot of history about Crete as well, and had ice cold waters and snacks ready the whole way. We wrapped up with a few hours enjoying Falassarna beach, and having a beachside lunch as well. The restaurant made incredible food, we couldn't help but eat it all! 5 stars across the board!

So our guide, Yaniss was fantastic. Our tour was good. Sadly the weather did not cooperate, which was no fault of our guide or the tour. Where I rated this lower is the high cost & our itinerary indicated we'd go to Kissamos for 3 hours, then Balos Lagoon for 30 min & finally Falassarna Beach with lunch & reserved sunbeds for 4 hours.
We had a great view of Balos Lagoon & our lunch & sunbeds at Falassarna Beach were fantastic but we drove past Kissamos beach, not go there for 3 hours.
Even if we did, we'd probably cut it short due to high winds & it was just cold, as we did in Falassarna Beach. Our guide did try & stretch out the tour by taking us to a cave Monastery in the area as we only lasted an hour at Falassarna Beach before asking for lunch early because we were too cold.
In all, with perfect weather I still found this high cost for the tour but what we did experience was good.

We had such a wonderful time with our tour guide Nikolas. He was extremely kind and knowledgeable. Balos was a beautiful viewpoint and made for nice pictures. The beach afterwards so lovely and the lunch provided was even better. I will say that it was a lot of driving for me, and also quite expensive for what the day is.

Absolutely wonderful experience from pickup to drop off! Yiannis was an incredible guide for the day and had so much information to share about Crete and Greece from history to culture to food or even favorite restaurants or places to travel. The beach was also incredible with clear blue water and reserved loungers, along with a very nice lunch right at the beachside restaurant. Definitely recommend this!!

We had a lovely day learning so much about Crete, including interesting cultural facts and tips from our Tour Guide Nick, whilst touring breathtaking scenery. The day trip was perfect, from the excellent communication leading up to the day, to the convenient stops along the way, to the organisation of the beach club and delicious lunch. By the end of the tour we felt we had a better cultural understanding of Crete and its extensive history than if we had tried to do the same itinerary ourselves! Could not recommend enough!

Nasos was incredible. We had a beautiful drive to a scenic place. Picturesque. Then a wonderful afternoon at Falassano beach. We had coffee or beverages served on our sun-beds. Then a 3 hour rest. I swam 2 out the 3 hours. To top it off, he served us an incredible lunch. He was interested in talking with us about Crete, the history and each other. Highly recommend.

Our adventure with Yiannis was a great day! Travel time to Balos and Falassarna was filled with history of Crete and engaging group conversations led by our guide.
