Trip was canceled the day...

Jason_G, Mar 2026
Trip was canceled the day before - not enough people signed up according to tour company. Disappointed though we salvaged the day quite well with a hike to Nauyaca falls.

Lots of Wildlife, Maybe Not in National Park

Trent_D, Feb 2026
We saw plenty of amazing wildlife, and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The lunch was pretty good, but not as good as other tours I’ve been on. Also, when we finished the hike, some proprietors of an adjacent lodge came out to yell at us saying we were trespassing—this isn’t true because all beaches in Costa Rica are public (even the four seasons can’t keep the public off their beaches legally), but this woman pointed out that our hike was not through Corcovado National Park. If it’s important to you that part of your ticket goes to national park permits for conservation, then this might not be the tour for you. We definitely saw a ton of wildlife, so we were happy, but something to keep in mind!

Very unorganized. Booked...

Deanne_G, Jan 2026
Very unorganized. Booked two different tours on the same boat for different destinations. Guide was not knowledgeable and walked too fast to look at or for animals. He took pictures of what we did see on only one of the groups phones and asked them to share the photos with others. The trail was up and down a mountain that at one point you had to use a rope to pull yourself up. Then we had to sit on a beach to wait for the boat to come back for thirty minutes. Lunch was served on a whole other beach with no where to sit. The whole experience was horrible and very chaotic. It was advertised to be a trip to Corcovado Nation preserve but we were not at the actual preserve. We just outside of it.

Lack of organization

Mattia_M, Dec 2025
I wasn't able to do the tour because there were no available spots for the entrance to the Natural park. I asked if I could do the activity the following days but always the same answer (the number of people that can enter the park is limited). I don't know why they let you book the activity through Viator if there is no availability. Waste of time

Highlight of Costa Rica

Had a great time! Saw all the animals we wanted to see. Great guide and amazing food! Thank you for the experience

Overpriced walk

Zulfiqar_A, Dec 2024
First off Viator basically provided few to no details about this experience: you can’t bring a plastic bottle, it’s a wet entry and landing from the boat, the boat ride is incredibly choppy, the hike is a walk around the outskirts of the park nothing more. We landed at Corcovado a bit late: 9:30am and had to leave by 1pm. The hike itself was maybe 2.5 hours. That’s not worth $170 bucks. The guide was solid and it’s not his fault we only saw dolphins, toucans, spider monkeys, coatis, and a few birds. The abundant wildlife was non-existent. There’s more wildlife in Manuel Antonio. Also the remoteness is over advertised. A guard was blowing whistles, groups were running into each other in the park, they had tractors running, golf carts, bathrooms in multiple places. Go find a different park, go to another ranger station, or stay overnight but this one day tour is not worth it. Lunch was fine if that’s something that matters to you.

We Spotted a Puma!

John_C, Dec 2024
Lovely tour! San Pedrillo station is absolutely gorgeous. Eduardo was very knowledgeable and we were lucky enough to spot a puma! Be prepared for a turbulent ride there and back on the boat! We saw a small pod of dolphins on the way back. About 1 - 1.5 hours each way.

Unjustifiable price for what you actually d

Leo_D, Dec 2023
Not worth the price - at all. A beautiful national park but this specific tour only takes you on a very small trail (maybe 2km) by the beach and back. We were expecting more hiking in distance (supposedly 2 trails but we only did 1 then left), and deeper into the forest to explore the richness of park, but this was disappointing on all aspects. The guide was friendly but definitely not a wildlife expert so we only saw a few animals. We had a much better animal seeing experience in the Manual Antonio park with an actual wildlife expert who was able to show us many animals that we wouldn't have been able to see ourselves using the scope. Disappointing to say the least. The day before we went snorkeling in the Isla del Caño (that is the same distance) for half of the price of the Corcovado Tour, and it was actually fantastic. I wouldn't recommend the Corcovado Tour, but rather going to Isla del Cano. We had a good time overall, but I wish I could known all this before booking and I definitely wouldn't have, not worth the price at all.

Super bad. This is a scam

Phoebe_M, May 2026
Viator offers a tour for 2 people: $340 paid. You will then receive a message that there is no availability on the selected day. When I respond to that that I want my money back, it is difficult. You must request a refund yourself. That process is also unclear and you will not receive any instructions. I still haven't got my money back and the tour never happened. This is a scam. I'll never do this again

Hermosa experiencia

Luis_L, May 2025

Response from Host, May 2025

¡Esperamos verte nuevamente! Saludos, Ballena Tour Team
