Very interesting for anyone, especially whovians!

Naomi_K, Feb 2026
We had a a great time. My son said "it was amazing". The tour was engaging and interesting at every point. We enjoyed Richard's titbits of experience as a Dr who extra along at the way. We came to Cardiff especially for this tour and we look forward to coming back to do another one.

If You are a Doctor Who Fan...Do It!

Really enjoyed this tour. Richard, our guide, was superb! Lots of walking, but I didn't mind. He was extremely knowledgeable about Doctor Who locations, due to his work on the series. Take this tour, if you like Doctor Who.

Great tour for all doctor who fans!

Our tour guide Terrence was amazing. Really passionate and knows his stuff. Great locations, with stills from scenes to bring it to life. He was interactive with group, lovely guy. Ran perfectly on time. Highly recommend. Only comment, and this is down to Viator. Location for meet up is main entrance of castle. Not where app tells you to go!

Nice but not amazing

The tour was really long and wasn't as interesting or engaging as I had hoped it would be. There was no behind the scenes information that would make this better than doing this tour self-guided

Fun Dr. Who tour

Garey_S, Sep 2024
The guide really knew his stuff. Plus he had pictures of each site showing scenes from the show. He was also knowledgeable about Torchwood sites which I was also interested in.

Good Tour

It was interesting and helped me get a quick grip on the layout of downtown Cardiff. Wish there had been a halfway water closet stop. Guide knew his Cardiff and his Doctor Who.

Great guide, misleading description

Enfys_B, Jul 2024
Our guide, Terrance, was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and really brought the story of the tour to life. One quibble, though: the Viator description says castle entry is included in the fee, but we were told we weren't going in the castle because castle entry costs extra. I was disappointed because I was eager to see the castle again. Please update the description.

Knowledgeable and fun

Seeing where the filming was done and following in the footsteps of the Doctor travels very interesting

Dr Who

One of the best walking tours we have been on thanks to our guide Terence. One for big Dr Who fans and those that aren't. Amazing way to learn about Dr Who and Cardiff City.

Brilliant

Loved the entire tour! Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and ensured everything went well despite the very loud protests happening in the city centre.

Dr Who Tour

Seeing how the illusions are done in normal day settings. Having this all explains in and informative and professional way.

Nice paced walking tour

Char_S, Jul 2023
Nice walking tour with a tour guide who was fun and knowledgeable. Especially appreciated the unexpected Dr Who reference inside the church.

Exceeded expectations

Jane_W, Jul 2023
Very well organised, informative, entertaining tour with an very engaging host. Despite the adverse weather conditions, our tour guide still managed to make this a most enjoyable experience for all. My son (13) has autism and becomes very anxious in public, crowded places and also tires very easily but - being a massive Dr Who fan - he was so enthralled by the infectious enthusiasm of our guide he managed the whole 2hr 30min walk in an around Cardiff. He was the only child on the tour in a group of 16 so - this is not just for kids - a must for all Whovers!

Whovian tour

Julie_J, Apr 2023
This is perfect for Doctor Who fans, you are able to see a lot of filming locations and the guide even has pictures to compare. He also has knowledge on the history of Cardiff. I've also visited places I wouldn't have found on my own during this tour.

Walk your way to more Dr. Who Knowledge

Jeff_B, Aug 2022
This was a fun way to spend a late morning in Cardiff. Having been a fan of the show for a number of years, it was a treat to see some of the locations that have been used for filming this iconic show. Terrance was our guide, and did a very good job of not only showing us the sites and locations of filming of the series, but also some of the interesting history of Wales, Cardiff and the castle. I would recommend you bring some water, particularly if it's warm, and have very comfortable footwear, as there is a fair bit of walking. We enjoyed our time around the city, and learned quite a bit about the buildings that we passed, sites that were used for filming, and some of the nightlife of Cardiff. I may just book this one again when we're back in Cardiff.

Exciting and interesting

Emma_M, Jul 2022
Interesting information not just about doctor who but about Cardiff enjoyed every second and the tour guide Terrence was lovely and well knowledgeable

Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and approachable

Laura_W, Jul 2022
Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and approachable. I have mobility issues and use a stick and he was very considerate of this and then informed me when it would get longer periods of walking and said if I wanted I could meet my fiance at the end I could, but I chose to keep going because I found him so interesting and it was lovely to hear about different parts of the city as well as learning about different points in the Doctor Who universe. Would definitely recommend it to any Doctor Who fan.

Great walking tour of Dr. Who...

Reuben D R, Jul 2017
Great walking tour of Dr. Who filming sites. The guide did a nice job of setting the scene and showing stills of the production but it's still just every day sites that are made special by being in a TV series. Dr. Who fans will enjoy but some of the younger ones may get a bit tired of the walking around. However, we all really enjoyed it and recommend it!
