- Table Mountain and Robben Island activities cannot be cancelled after booking as these tickets are non-refundable unless any of the following occurs:
- In the event that Table Mountain cableway is closed due to unfavorable weather conditions on the day, the guest will have 7 days in which to utilize the Table Mountain tickets. Should the guest not be available during this period for this activity, Table Mountain will issue you a refund for your ticket back onto your credit card.
- In the event that Robben Island museum cancels the boat trip you will receive a refund for the boat trip entrance fees. Rescheduling of bookings can be done and would require 48 hours in advance - is subject to an administration fee. Rescheduling is also subject to availability.
- A current valid passport is required on the day of travel for verification at Robben Island

it is just a pick up service, the driver/guide do not go with you to the island/table mountain. the downtown city tour is in the car, you do not even visit the places. Misguiding description in the page. To me this tour is a SCAM, do not book it.

This is a great tour which covers so much . Our tour guide Alex was so good. He showed us round and took photos for us and was very kind. He was well informed and answered any questions we had.
Great tour to see all the Cape Town highlights. Rubin our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We toured Robben island and end with the spectacular views from Table Mountain.

Ruben is a great tour guide due to weather conditions we had to change the tour. We have seen so many nice places and received a lot historic information. He is very helpful and he makes sure you are comfortable during the tour. He even reserved a restaurant in a short noticed so we could enjoyed our lunch together.

We had a full one-day tour with our tour guide, Peter. He arrived at our hotel on-time. Peter started by telling us a little bit about the history of Cape Town--it's original boundaries, it's significance in trade, apartheid, etc. He drove us around Cape Town to the old castle. We took pictures underneath the balcony where Nelson Mandela addressed the crowd after being freed from prison. We visited the Malay section with its colorful houses, then we went to Table Mountain for a very detailed tour. We also viewed Lions Head and drove to Signal Mountain, where we watched hang gliders take off, fly over the city and land on the shore. Peter then drove us downtown to get a lunch--a rotie gatsby--which we took with us to eat at the shore park, where we then walked to the nearby dock to take a ferry to Robben Island. Once on Robben Island, we received a presentation by one of the former inmates, and we were able to view Nelson Mandela's former cell there. When we returned, our tour guide returned us safely to our hotel. I can't express the level of professionalism, great manners and patience that Peter exhibited during our tour, and I would highly recommend this private tour to everyone!

It was a great day spent with our guide, Alex. We visited Robben Island, had lunch at the V & A Waterfront and went directly to Table Top Mtn. It’s very windy and my hat blew off! We then took the tour of the city.

Ferdinand was a great guide - picked us up on time and provided great information throughout. For Robben Island, if you get motion sick at all take dramamine - it is 30 minutes of fairly rough ocean each way. Table Mountain was awesome - we had our lunch on the top of the mountain and had plenty of time to explore and walk around. We ended the trip at a market - this was a great opportunity to buy some gifts.

We wanted to learn more about this part of South Africa's history and this tour was a great start. Having an actual convict tell the story was a plus we didn't expect, or fully appreciate, until we were there. Beginning could have been shorter, but tour overall packs a wallop.

The advert is not clear that you must pay for table mountain, we had to pay for our selves while we have booked a combo. We asked for price breakdown and Viator failed to explain that to us. Terrible service indeed.

There was no guide. Just a driver in a fancy car. Could have saved up on a lot of money if I had known that the guide was basically a driver with poor communication. Not worth the money.

We were picked up by a driver with terrible English. He wanted to push as quickly as possible trough the day.
Eventually you pay a tremendous amount of money for nothing. You can book your robben island ticket yourself, request an Uber and save 100 USD each. We had to pay ourselves for Table mountain access. Called Viator who was unfriendly and said that is not included. If we can not read.
Huge rip off. Better give to money to people in the country who do actual work.

We toured Robben Island and it was great. We weren’t able to tour Table Mountain due to fog, which wasn’t the operator’s fault of course.
The issue was the guide: He showed up 20 minutes late. We lost 15 minutes because he could not figure out how to get out of the small parking garage. He had not pre-arranged for download of our ferry tickets to Robben Island; we sat while he did that. When we reached the head of the line to board the ferry, our tickets weren’t valid—they had been used the day before and were in someone else’s name. We established a meet point to rejoin him after the tour at Robben Island which I confirmed with him—even pointing down and saying “we are to meet on these steps here, right here, correct?” to which he answered “yes, right here”. But, he failed to show up at 1:00pm as agreed. I placed four phone calls to the tour operator’s office before someone answered. When I finally reached a person, she said our guide could see us and was walking towards us—I told her that our guide was BS-ing her, that no one was in sight and walking toward us. We waited on the steps as agreed until 2:00pm—then left to use a toilet and get something to eat. At 2:06 the office called to say the guide as coming, I advised her we were eating, but could hurry our eating and be back to the meet point in 40 minutes—and again confirmed the meet point. He did not show, so we gave up and went to find a taxi back to the ship—and found our guide sitting in his car!
We were very disappointed by the poor service. Its the only time we have had a problem with a Viator-booked tour. We will use Viator again,but strongly recommend you drop this tour operator so others don’t have a similar experience.

There were two momentous parts. 1) the tickets that were sent for the Robben Island visit had an incorrect date. We almost missed the boat. We’re the last to board. 2) Received an email 12 hours before pick up that I had to buy 4 tickets for the Table mountain able car. I didn’t know that was not included. The tickets that I was told to by were non refundable and at the time the cable car was already an Elle’s and no one informed us. We paid 1650 Rand for nothing. The guide Joshua was wonderful. But cannot recommended anyone to this company

A must do tour in Capetown. Amazing Capetown experience. Started with Ferry Ride to Robbens Island, a very informational tour of Robbens Island by a former inmate with Nelson Mandela. After a quick lunch at the V & A Waterfront, we were off to an informational CapeTown City Tour with our Amazing Tour Guide, Joshua. Next we took a Cable Car ride to the top of Table Mountain. It was a long day but well worth the experience.

Our guide Ruben was very knowledgeable about all the areas of Cape Town and a wonderful historian. He explained parts of Tabletop mountain flora and animals. We also went to the botanical gardens which made the day a memorable journey to add to our travel books. Robben island was very interesting and in itself a beautiful island. The guide we happen to have there was a former prisoner. I would recommend this tour if you like birds, flora, wildlife and definitely request Ruben.

This was a very well organized whole day tour that allowed us to see a lot in one day! Our guide Gavin was wonderful. It was my sister and I and Gavin was very knowledgeable and attentive. He made sure the day went smoothly and we never felt rushed! I highly recommend it!

We had a nice day out although the weather was very hot. Our guide took us to the Mandela Gateway and gave us tickets for the boat for Robben Island. He stayed in Cape Town. The boat was quite comfortable and we were allowed to stand and look outside. We were then divided up onto some rough old buses. We had a guide on the bus who was very strict and said we definitely could not speak a word when she was talking. It was hard to tell if she was serious or trying to be funny. I was sorry that we were not allowed to get off at some of the sites because it was very difficult to take photos through the the closed windows and across other people.
We were then dropped at the prison and were given an interesting tour by an ex inmate. We saw Mandela’s cell and other various courtyards and cells.
We then returned to the ferry and were met the other side by our guide. He asked if we wanted to stop for lunch or not which I thought was a bit odd as we’d been out since 08.00. So he found us somewhere to eat which was average but felt a bit rushed.
We then went to Table Mountain. It was very busy but we eventually got in the gondola. At the top the guide left us to walk round ourselves and asked us how much time we needed. We had no idea so suggested half an hour, again I got the feeling we were being rushed. As it turned out half an hour wasn’t long enough and we weren’t quite back in time and as soon as half hour had passed he was chasing us on the phone.
The top of Table Mountain was interesting and there were lovely views from the top but it was seriously crowded. We had been up Signal Hill the day before which was much more peaceful and had great views, although obviously much lower down. It was all very rushed up there.
We then had a look round Bo Kasparov but I got the impression he wasn’t that keen on going there. He had some difficulty with the manual gear box and stalled several times in the hills going up which was a bit scary.
We went back through the city to our hotel and passed several interesting sites that I would have liked to stop and see, plus take photos but this didn’t happen.
Tour guide was prompt, knowledgeable and pleasant ... I would recommend using this agency again and the tour guide..
Our Driver Peter was amazing. He was very attentive and personable. He gave us very great details about the city and did not leave our side. We felt safe and enjoyed his company. The cable car was shut down because of winds so we were not able to go to the top of the mountain but Peter was accommodating.
Weather played a strong role in our tour, but we were impressed with the guide’s and company’s flexibility. Our guide was right on time to pick us up at our hotel. He was knowledgeable and prepared for the day. Unfortunately, the day would have gone better if we had done Robben Island first and Table Mountain second. As it was, we went to Table Mountain which was totally fogged in. Had a nice walk around the summit. Then we found out that the afternoon boats to Robben Island were canceled due to weather. We had to scramble to figure out what to do. We enjoyed our tour of the castle and botanical gardens and the company arranged for us to do Robben Island two days later. We appreciated their flexibility. Kudos to the guide and tour operator for their support in adversity.
