When we booked the Tour I read all the reviews previously and it was clear that guide Jean-Marie was Loved by all- so I was very excited when he was our guide-without a doubt he now has two new people that love him!! Jean-Marie’s Excellent knowledge of Cape Town and all the area from historical, folklore, flora, present day Definitely made the trip interesting and was so appreciated but the Most important aspect of guide Jean- Marie was his authentic caring and great heart which enabled us to have of our BEST experience ever with a tour guide-You could see his joy in making sure that all our needs and special requests were met-He definitely goes more than the distance and lived up to all Positives in his reviews -PLUS +++++Zion/Viator You have a sparkling Gem in Jean-Marie!!!!!

Private Tour Must Mean Something Else In South Africa

This is not a private tour and should not be advertised as such. We were picked up by a guide who esstially dropped us off at the docks. The tour to Robben Island was delayed, due to technical difficulties so we spent at 1-1.5 hours waiting. We were told by our guide that we would be met by a guide like him on the island. When we arrived that was not the case. We were just part of the general tour. We called our guide and he assured us that the rest of the tour was "private". Upon returning from Robben Island our guide drove us to Table Mountain, rode with us to the top, should us a model of the mountain, a picture of an animal and said he would meet us back at the tram to depart. Besides picking us up and getting our tickets in advance, this was not a private tour. His manner was very abrupt and I often felt like we were an inconvenience to his day.

We did this tour on our first full day in Cape Town. It was an extremely powerful experience that I highly recommend for all visitors to Cape Town. Our guide Armando was amazing! Prior to departing for Robben Island he gave us a lot of history about the island and the prisoners that were held there. Upon our return, it was too windy to go up on Table Mountain so instead Armando took us out for and wonderful lunch and gave us a guided tour of Cape Town full of history and important landmarks. It was an emotional day, but a very important day and an absolute must do when you are in Cape Town.

The one tour you must book!

This tour was absolutely phenomenal! Don’t miss out on this one! Our house Armand was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. As we drove to the ferry, he provided history on the town and also pointed out the various landmarks on our way. He gave us the run down of how the day and tour would go and then escorted us to the ferry. Upon our return from Robben Island, we told him we wanted to buy a few spices. He took us to Bo Kaap which is neighbor lined with beautiful & colorful architecture. In the area, we went to a lovely spice shop. After the spice shop, he took us to Table Mountain where we rode a cable car to the top and he took us on a guided tour around the mountain pointing out neighborhoods and landmarks for us to view on each side of the mountain. Lastly, Armand took us to a market where we bought various souvenirs. It was perfect as we were able to find everything we wanted. I am so happy I booked a private tour as this was the best experience with the most amazing host!

Our tour guide Elie picked us promptly at our BnB. He was so professional, knowledgeable and patient. He shared very interesting stories on the way. He assisted in capturing the best pictures of me and my husband. We had so much fun and learned a lot. Highly recommend Elie. Visiting the table mountain and Robben Island was the best experience 👌

Very good and informative tour. The bust tide was good even though we were warned about motion sickness. The guide on the bus was well versed and made us all feel comfortable before we were exposed to the ugliness of apartheid regime prison life. The former inmate was pretty matter of fact and not as emotional as I would have expected after spending 18 years behind those bars. I wondered how stupid the guards must have been to allow so much to go on under their noses, including Mandela writing a book and getting it out piece by piece. Unfortunately, the clouds didn’t cooperate at Table Mountain, so all we experienced was the Table Cloth at the top. Views were spectacular 1/2 to 2/3 up, but at the top we couldn’t see anything but fog.

Really enjoyed my day and the weather was perfect for the views at Table Mountain. Fiston was my guide/driver and all communications in advance and on the day was spot on. He was on time, had all my rebooked tickets and explained the general history of Cape Town. He gave me tips of things to see and do, food to try and was generally really professional and friendly. It was the right amount of time but it would have been good to have a guide at the top of Table Mountain. Bo-Kaap was lovely to see and I will try and go back to the galleries there. Overall, the car was clean, comfortable and in very good condition. I would definitely recommend this tour and it is very good value for money.

Great Day Trip in Cape Town

I travelled with my partner and had the best time being guided by Fiston. Fiston was on time to pick up and dropped us to Robben Island with prebooked tickets. The tour of Robben Island was informative and we were guided by a former prisoner, what a humbling experience. Our next step was Table Mountain where we also had prebooked tickets, Fiston was really lovely in showing us the sights and explaining the composition of Cape Town from the top! We ended the day with a local Cape Town city tour of Bo Knap and was able to get back to the hotel at a timely manner. Would highly recommend this trip, great hosts and super smooth planning.
