Beyond Expectations!!

Robben Island was cancelled due to an event on the island. However our guide Jean, was very accommodating and provided additional activities in lieu of the Robben Island tour. He had a wealth of information and was incredibly knowledgeable about Africa's rich history. It was evident that he loves what he does, and we felt very fortunate to have been paired with him.

Private Guide is NOT a Private Guide

The tour was booked with Viator and a private guide. The guide did NOT go on the Robben Island Tour and canceled the second half of the tour due to weather, out of their control. Viator refunded half of the cost of the private tour. They ghosted me after I requested a refund for the private guide portion of the tour, which the guide never event attended. I was happy to pay the for the tour, obviously, but not the for a private guide I never actually had.

We’d like to kindly clarify a few points regarding the day’s itinerary: - City Tour Segment: The portion of the tour exploring the city did not proceed due to your personal decision to opt out at that time. Our guide was fully prepared to accompany you, and this segment was scheduled as part of your private experience. - Table Mountain Closure: Unfortunately, Table Mountain was closed on the day of your tour due to adverse weather conditions. This was a safety decision made by Table Mountain Aerial Cable Car management and was entirely outside our control. We understand the disappointment, but we hope you appreciate that guest safety is paramount. A refund was immediately made towards this inconvenience - Robben Island Tour Format: Robben Island tours are operated by the Robben Island Museum and are conducted on a shared basis. As is standard practice, the experience includes three official site guides—one on the ferry, one on the bus, and one inside the former prison, a museum today. While your private guide does not accompany guests onto the island itself -to accommodate more visitors-, he was present and ready to continue with you for the remainder of your private tour after the Robben Island segment. We sincerely regret that the day did not unfold as you had hoped, and we do appreciate your understanding of the logistical and weather-related constraints.
