What a fantastic Day. John our guide was very knowledgeable about wines. He explained about each of the wineries that we visited and all about every wine we tasted. He made the day extremely interesting and we will definitely book one of his trips again when we return.

We had a fabulous day with John. He was friendly and so knowledgeable about wine and all of the beautiful wineries that we visited. It felt like we were hanging out with a friend who was also a wine expert. We visited 3 wineries and had a delicious lunch in between. It was a fabulous day in the South African wine country!

This wine tour was first class from start to finish. Our driver/guide Crystal was able to show us some of the best tasting rooms in Stellenbosch. we tasted wine at three wineries and enjoyed a delicious lunch at a fourth. This is a great way to experience a very special wine growing region.

We had a fantastic day out wine tasting in Stellenbosch - a beautiful part of the world. John, our guide, was very knowledgeable and had put together a great tour - we visited 4 vineyards and got to taste wines made from a range of grapes. The tour included food pairing tastings (cheese and chocolate) and a stop for lunch. All in all, a lovely day out!

It was a lovely day filled with unique wineries and fantastic knowledge of the region, wines, the ins and outs of wine production and so much more. Martin was timely, friendly and such a delight to spend the day with. We had a lovely time!

John is 5-star amazing. All was well-arranged and on point! Great selection of vineyards and absolutely fantastic choices of wines to taste.
While it was out first time meeting, John behaved an old times friend happy to see us again and excited to show us the best Stellenbosch has to offer.
The drive was insightful and he got us the perfect table 54 at the Tokara Restaurant for my 16th wedding anniversary overseeing the vineyard and the olive trees!

John was an exceptional tour guide! He picked us up on time, in a clean car, very professional. He got to know me and my boyfriend on a personal level and took us to beautiful winery's that catered to our liking. John led an absolutely incredible adventure through Stellenbosch. He designed a curated tour of wineries that highlighted all that the region had to offer. The tour picked us up in Cape Town and dropped us off where we needed to be to continue our exploration through South Africa. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the regions wines, and taught us about each wine we sampled! He was very welcoming the entire tour and our entire group would love to book another tour with John without any reservations!

If you want the more flexible and private experience this is great value and enjoyable. Lovely locations chosen for the 4 wineries and you can decide how much time and what you did at each place. Plenty of wine to taste and lunch venue was stunning

We only were taken to three wineries. Two were great, the third one was large and commercial, but pretty. Lunch choice had nice view and nice South African food. Tour guide was bigoted and arrogant, worst of white people in South Africa. Could have been a much better experience.

The tour you booked does include 3 tastings and a stop for lunch (own account). The lunch stop was changed on the day to accommodate your wanting a lighter lunch and so the more commercial stop was added. This is not part of the normal tour.
I have reached out to you a few times to find out what gave rise to your impression of your guide, which I have not received a response to. All I can say is that this guide has received a large number of 5 star reviews previously. These are from people from many different countries, ethnicities and cultures.
We hope you come back one day and discover again the beauty of the Cape Winelands and the people of South Africa.

We had high hopes for this excursion that were fully realized. Our driver/guide Andrew was absolutely wonderful. We aren't sophisticated wine drinkers so he taught us a lot. The spectacular scenery and settings of the the wineries we visited were a huge bonus in addition to tasting some terrific wines.

This wine tour by far beat the wine tours we’ve done in Napa. Our guide and host John took us to three amazing wineries that were each unique experiences with delicious wines, food, and fun times. We recommend this to anyone! Definitely better than any wine tram and with the money!!

The Stellenbosch wine tour was everything we thought it would be! George was our guide and we had a driver, I don’t remember his name, sorry. They picked us up at our hotel on time. Along the way to Stellenbosch, George shared some really interesting facts about the area and country.
Prior to the tour we received a message asking our preference for lunch. They helped us choose the perfect lunch spot! We had a wine and chocolate tasting at Waterford (beautiful property, try the Cabernet), wine tasting at Hartenburg (where we tasted/purchased a great wine, The Stork) and finally a wine/cheese tasting at L’Avenir. George pulled some strings to have the owner give us a private tour of the cellar and wine processing area! We had a group of 12 (large group) and George kept us on schedule. It was a really perfect day!

I booked this tour as part of a short three-day trip to Cape Town with my husband. I was a little worried about booking through Viator solely based on historic reviews, but this tour really lived up to its very positive 5-star accolades! Our lovely guide John was incredibly knowledgeable, very professional but also super friendly, and exceptionally organised. He picked us up very promptly from our hotel in the morning. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him and we learnt a lot whilst sampling some truly exceptional South African wines. All the admin. is done very discreetly in the background so you can really enjoy the day. Fantastic. Would highly recommend. If we visit again I would definitely book through the same company. Enjoy!

We had a fantastic time on this wine tour around Stellenbosch with Martin. He was an excellent tour guide, incredibly knowledgeable and being a wine maker himself, was able to give an inside account into the complex wine making process. He also managed to acquire an extra few glasses of wine for us to taste (thank you)! Although lunch is not included in the cost of the trip, we went to a stunning winery for lunch which was one of the best lunches we've ever had for a very reasonable price (approx. £45-50 for two with main and desert).
We would highly recommend this trip!
