Wonderful tour! Our guide Teddy was the best! Very knowledgeable about all the sites and a great photographer! We did this tour in April therefore the sites were not busy and we got to spend a lot of time exploring and seeing all the beautiful views. This tour is highly recommended.

Angel, our guide and driver, suggested I sat in the front passenger seat of the minibus as it would be easier with my crutches, so I had incredible views of the Rocky Mountains all around us. Mountains included Sulphur Mountain, Tunnel Mountain which doesn’t have tunnel, Sawback Mountain and Mount Temple which is only 200m lower than Mount Fugi! It was spectacular. I had an image in my head of what I hoped to see and it certainly surpassed my expectations. Our journey to Johnston Canyon was stunning with rugged mountains with peaks covered in snow.
As we drove through Banff National Park, Angel told us about its heritage and was clearly knowledgeable about the history of the area. He was very engaging and happy to answer any questions and I had many, often “What is that mountain called?” as we passed so many.
Our first stop was Johnston Canyon. We were each given crampons for our walking boots which were a life saver on the ice covered trail. We had an hour to walk the Johnston Canyon trail and we headed for the lower falls. The waterfall thundered into the bow river below and there was a small low tunnel through the rock which enabled us to get really close to the waterfall cascading in front of us. I was very grateful that we were provided with crampons on our tour. So many people on the trail weren’t wearing crampons and were sliding on the ice desperately clinging onto the handrail for support.
During our drive to Lake Louise, Angel pointed out the perimeter fence either side of the road. This perimeter fence helps protect the Wildlife and he explained that the fence is not to keep people out. There are gates in the fence and we later went through a gate to see Castle Mountain from the bow river. The National Park has underpasses and overpasses for Wildlife to cross the road and we saw several overpasses during our journey. We were warned we might feel altitude sickness as Lake Louise has an altitude of 5750 feet. Fortunately no one on the tour had any ill effects and we were all able to appreciate the beauty of the frozen Lake Louise which was a sea of white ice and snow with the beautiful backdrop of snowy mountains. Angel gave us a Health and Safety talk ensuring that we didn’t venture to the far right of the lake which is starting to thaw. It was safe to walk across the frozen lake however which is also used for ice skating, horse drawn sleigh rides and snowshoeing although I have no idea what that is!.
We had two hours freetime in Banff so we enjoyed some beer and had lunch at the Three Bears Brewery. After a quick photo stop at Surprise Corner if the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel also know as the Castle on the Mountain we concluded our tour at bow waterfalls which was so tranquil as we were the only people there.
Angel is clearly very proud of the family business and there were ten of us on the tour so we really felt like we had a personalised service. He was attentive throughout and it was obvious he really cared about everyone having the best experience possible. Even before the trip we were really impressed how emails were responded to by Tito within 24 hours.

We had a wonderful day tour in Banff and everything exceeded my expectations. The weather was absolutely perfect — warm, sunny, and still with beautiful snow-covered scenery. We were also lucky enough to see elk, which was such a memorable highlight.
Our guide Angel was fantastic — very friendly, patient, and professional. He provided detailed explanations and shared many interesting stories along the way, which made the trip both enjoyable and informative. I will come back again.

Your tour guide makes all the difference. We had Angel and he loves nature. His passion and knowledge showed throughout our tour Exploring Banff National Park.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Johnston Canyon Falls and do go to the cave & see the incredible falls after you enter the Falls. Angel took us to a great spot on the Bow River with great views of white capped mountains. We went to Lake Louise and took photos in the unique ice bar and did a tasting of the maple syrup Park Distillery whiskey…very good! We took fun around Beautiful LakeLouise. .
We did a brief tour thru the Chateau Lake Louise. So elegant!!! The retail boutiques have very unusual upscale jewelry and clothing beyond our budgets! Angel showed us some of his family’s “secret gem locations “ and we were amazed at the views. The next stop was Bows Falls Our next stop was to the scenic @ Bows Falls viewing point to see more beautiful landscape. The last stop was a panoramic view of the sensational Fairmont Springs Hotel which is called the Castle on the Mountain. It is a very elegant hotel with the backdrop of the white capped Sulfur Mountains.
I got to visit inside the hotel @ the bars with gorgeous views. The retail stores are more reasonable priced. Jacquline Inez was the Artist in Residence the week I was visiting March 18-22 and I did purchase a print of her work for a reasonable price. Do visit the Mountain Gallery @ the hotel. Loved all the Canadian artists presented My daughter & I did do the four hour Spa & it was well worth it. We had a very good massage but you also get to enjoy stunning views of the mountains in the indoor and outdoor pools, the steam room & inhalation room. You will absolutely love it!
The best part of this all day tour was Angel our Tour Guide who had endless information to share and so passionate about sharing all of the beauty of Banff National Park, the geology, the wildlife history and the Banff National Park story. We love you Angel! You were very information but we also enjoyed your delightful humor. Thank you Angel for making this tour so enjoyable!

Our guide, Teddy is great! Very professional, knowledgeable and warmhearted. All the way to and from The park, he talked lots of stories about the history of Banff, including the origin of Canada’s first National Park. Really learned a lot! With in one day, we visited the lake Louis, Johnston Canyon trail, waterfall, central town of Banff and many surprises!

Teddy was our tour guide and made this a wonderful tour for 2 seniors. He was friendly and knowledgeable of Banff and sites visited. Information presented in interesting ways that made each site very enjoyable. His lunch suggestion of Zyka Indian cuisine was appreciated for excellent food, service, and views. On our next trip, we would look for Teddy/Rocky Mt. tours as our tour guide again

Really good way to spend an extra day in Calgary. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, we had a great time and loved seeing the mountains in winter. Our guide Teddy was knowledgeable, fun, and answered all my questions, even the stupid ones. We’ve already recommended this tour to some friends who were visiting the area.

I am very happy that I booked this tour. Teddy was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He shared so much interesting information about the attractions, the history of Highway 1 in Canada, and even animal care, which made the experience even more engaging. He is also an excellent driver and a talented photographer, always helping us capture great moments.

Angel from Rocky Mountain Trips took us to Banff National Park yesterday (22 Jan 2026) and he was born to be a travel guide! He took us to the very best winter locations for photos, he took us for a hike in Johnston Canyon, he brought water, he stopped for plenty of washroom and snack breaks, he shared his vast knowledge and great sense of humor, he provided ice cleats for the hike, he was awesome. I would recommend this day trip for anyone! All the stars!!!

This tour was so much fun! Our tour guide Teddy was so knowledgeable and hospitable. I appreciate that he talks us through every spot we visited so we are aware of the background and history of it. Teddy made sure guests felt comfortable and safe and even had a conversation with all of us individually so we weren’t all complete strangers lol. Every spot was a beautiful sight to see and great spots for photos. Plenty of leisure time at each stop. We really enjoyed this tour and would definitely recommend.

Our original reservation was for December 8th but we were unable to make it that day due to our flight being delayed! I messaged the Host (Tito) and he gladly rescheduled us for the next day! Very nice and accommodating. Our tour guide Teddy was also amazing! He was very informative and friendly and we had a great time on our tour. He recommended us restaurants and activities to do on our lunch break and was very caring throughout the whole day. Definitely recommend booking this tour if you want to see some great attractions and have a fun time!

Had a awesome day with our guide Teddy and just one other guest. Apparently a big group cancelled the day before, but what an amazing company who still ran the tour for just the two of us. Firstly thats customer service at its best. Teddy was able to adapt the tour to suit the two of us, and we were both so happy to experience a few extra places and forfeit our lunch in Banff. We were both already staying in Banff so we didnt need extra time there. Teddy was a great host, he was informative, friendly,knowledgeable, and above all happy in his job. His driving skills were amazing. We were so lucky to see some wildlife on our tour which included Big Horn sheep and a dear strolling through a residential area of Banff. Absolutely delighted with how the day went. Also thanks to Tito whose communication was 100% from day one of booking this tour. Excellent day out and lying on a frozen lake Louise was a highlight for me.

It was a great day trip.. I got In at Banff..Angel was an amazing tour guide. He shared lot of interesting information all through the way. The views were amazing.. if you have a short stay at Banff or even if you in Calgary this is a great trip to do. Especially if you don't have a personal vehicle and you want to see the sights. Crampons were provided for places which were really icey..water was provided too...was really good.. definitely recommend this tour and angel as the tour guide.

I had such a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Teddy was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the history and sites giving out great and interesting information. He was very friendly and a great photographer as well. As I was a solo traveller he was easy to get along with and chat with throughout the day as well. The entire trip was planned out well and timing was great, the van was comfortable and perfect temperature as well for long drive. All the spots we went to were beautiful and breath taking. I recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Banff and has time on their hands to do it. Great value for what you get as well. You get a good amount of free time at each stop as well. So glad I did this tour and it is highly recommended you do it as well.
