My son and I booked this experience last minute - and I’m so happy that we did! Jinee was absolutely lovely. Her shop is small and full of her beautiful art. She really cares about both the painting and its meaning, and she happily explained it all as she taught us to paint. We chose our drawings and she mixed the paint and gave us lots of tips - thankfully!
It was the most enjoyable two hours. Jinee is also based within the cultural village which is well worth a wander around for its art and vibrancy. Just wear trainers as it’s very steep!
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone with children who are able to sit still for two hours, so perhaps 8+ years - the shop is full of art and I would suggest wouldn’t be great for younger children or those that are “into everything”.

The painting workshop was a wonderful experience and I'm so happy I did it. The teacher was such a joy to learn from! Besides teaching me about the history of the art and the art form itself, she also engaged with me on many random topics that it was like painting with a friend. This was the highlight of our Busan trip. Ginny and Moon are incredibly kind and patient. Ginny is so talented! We all loved the experience and can’t wait to come back to Busan and visit them again.
It is a bit difficult to find it so make sure you get very good instructions. The area is unbelievably picturesque. The hills and stairs are treacherous so wear very comfortable sneakers. As soon as we walked into her studio, we knew that we were in a magical place. Jinny is an incredible talent. Her art should be in museums! We wanted to buy everything in there. She was very patient and explained everything and demonstrated and helped with the paintings. She explains the history, the natural ingredients she uses to create the colors and explains the technique. We absolutely loved meeting her and her husband and made a lifelong connection. What an incredible day we had. The paintings are so beautiful and we will be framing them when we get back to the USA. They made our stay in Busan unforgettable!

Absolutely amazing experience! Highly recommend! Attended the painting class with my 80 year old mother & daughter who is in her 30’s. I believe the class would be great for any age, we all had a great time.
Jinee is incredibly talented and a wonderful teacher. We walked out with three beautiful paintings. That can be accomplished by any skill level..Jinee makes it easy! During the class we were served delightful tea and received several fascinating history lessons. 10 out of 10 experience.

Absolutely amazing experience! Me and my mom loved it very much! We were lucky to be the only ones on this class that day, so it was very nice. I adore my tiger picture, he looks astonishing. Also the place was great - perfect location and really cozy interior full of the owner's arts.

An inspiring workshop that beautifully introduced traditional Korean painting. Clear guidance, a welcoming atmosphere, and a deep respect for the art made it a truly rewarding experience!
This was honestly one of the most wholesome experiences of my 9-day solo trip to South Korea. Jinee was so welcoming and open, and through conversation and while painting a beautiful piece of Korean-style art, I learnt a lot about Korean culture and history. I also ended up buying a beautiful art piece made by Jinee herself, as the class is in her lovely art studio in the heart of Gimcheon culture village. Would highly, highly recommend this experience if you’re looking for the perfect combination of doing something local, artsy, and to meet some wonderful people. Thank you again Jinee, and also to your wonderful husband!
We are so glad to have taken the painting class with Jinee, it took our whole Korea experience to the next level. Not only is she a great teacher, she also uses traditional materials and could tell us the interesting stories behind the traditional paintings. We had lovely chats with her and her husband, which granted us deep er insight into the country!
All in all, I can whole-heartedly reccomend this course to anyone interested in Korean Art and Culture.

The teacher was absolutely adorable, she answered my questions before class via the app's message system.
She took the time to explain to me a little bit the history of Korean art and the meaning of each symbol before she started. We discussed my tastes a bit and when I mentioned that peonies were my favorite flowers, she changed the model planned for a peony, just to please me.
She was very patient and pleasant, taking me back nicely if necessary and always very encouraging. She was very patient and explained how to handle the different techniques for the best rendering possible.
We talked a lot during the class and when I mentioned a music group I liked, she put in a playlist of their music on her own. I really appreciated that tiny gesture. It touched me a lot.
I came out delighted with my activity, with a beautiful souvenir, personalized and made by myself. Very proud of my work.
This is an experience I particularly enjoyed and I would recommend it without problem.
