A fantastic experience and opportunity to see the Danube Delta

Our guide and driver, Bogdan, was very friendly and helpful - and keen to ensure we had a good day...which we did! It was a brilliant trip and we were very excited to explore the Danube Delta. The drive there was long (as we expected) but Bogdan was an excellent driver and we had a few stops. Once we arrived, the boat was extremely plush and it was a real treat to be the only people on it. We were a little disappointed not to see more birdlife - perhaps it was the time of year? Some guidance on what you're likely to see in the trip listing might be helpful to people. But the scenery was amazing and we saw a few different birds - and snakes swimming in the water. We had a warm welcome for lunch and it was really interesting to see how people live in the Danube Delta. The food was okay - it was tricky to eat the fish with so many bones, but good to try something new and try authentic Romanian dishes. And I loved meeting the lovely little dog who was living there. Such a happy soul. All in all a wonderful trip! Thank you :)

Great views of the Danube Delta with several variety of birds. Our driver and guide was very knowledgeable and ensured that the we were well fed with a fish feast from the Danube.

We loved everything about this tour! Radu, our tour guide, was incredible! Full of stories and facts about Romania, knowledgeable and courteous. The delta was beautiful and we saw lots of birds, more than we expected. The meal was authentic and plentiful! Highly recommended!

More birds at home

Our guide was great as far as hotel pick up explaining the history of Romania. Disappointed as far as seeing birds. All the boat operators use the same canal so all the animals go somewhere else. Expensive and long drive from Bucharest. Everyone goes to the same restaurant. Not really a fisherman 's house. Same menu carp,fish,soup. Drinks extra.

The tour took place on a day with temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit), causing the birds to seek refuge in the cool shade. The trip is long because this is the only way it can be done in one day.

Danube delta it’s an amazing place; the guide / driver was also very well prepared and shared interesting facts / stories. The local restaurant ‘la scaunele’ was also a very nice place, with tasty traditional food.

A bad experience turned into e very positive one

NOT memorable: the fact that the guide Alin just cancelled my tour on short notice without my confirmation - by contrary, I had told him I was really looking forward to it. It was quite some trouble for me to book a new, similar tour on 1,5 days notice, when I already was very busy (having plans for each moment of my vacation). So, Viator - such cancellations should NOT be possible to happen, it was NOT a positive experience! Memorable: the fact that Viator helped me book a similar tour quickly when I called them, and the tour was very successful! Our driver Vlad and our guide Cristian were both excellent, the Danube Delta is beautiful and really worth exploring - moreover the lunch was very tasty :)

Let me understand! You booked a tour of the Danube Delta with another company that canceled your tour. Correct? Then you booked this tour that unfolded flawlessly and you are pleased with the service we provided. So we did a very good job. My question is why did you only give 3 stars? We are not responsible for the cancellations of other companies. You should leave a negative review to the company that canceled your tour not to us!
