Elbow beach escape

Great day of relaxation. Dean was great!! We walked to the bonefish grill to meet up with him. This was a 5 minute walk from the ship. He drove us to a private part of Elbow beach, and set us up with a cooler with ice, water, two cups and a bottle of rum Swizler. Two lounge chairs, and an umbrellan where we were the only two people on it. Coco reef resort next to us had facilities next to their pool, and a restaurant where we had lunch. Although we didn't have to worry about when we got back to the ship because it was staying overnight, he came to pick us up to go back on time. A very memorable experience!

My group paid 90.00 per person for umbrella and a beach chair. We got 3 umbrella a chair that was on the sand and a cooler with drinks. This is not what the description was on brochure. So disappointed. I will not return because we paid $11,00. We did not get accommodated for the value of the money we paid.

The cooler with a bottle of rum swizzle and cold water was a pleasant surprise … Our host was on time …. The beach and water were spectacular … We walked down the beach to Cafe Lido restaurant ( take flip flops and beach cover up as it is upscale )

I booked this experience and it actually turned out to be a great day, however there are several things I would like to mention. When I booked it I was under the impression that this was to be like a resort for a day experience, it was not. My fault for the misunderstanding, it was a ride to Elbow Beach, which has no amenities, our driver had small beach chairs, and umbrellas for us. The meeting place was not provided and I had to call the Bermuda number to find out where our pick up was to be. Even at that there was miscommunication so the pickup was not timely. Our driver from Bermuda Tours, Dean, could not have been nicer and because of him I will try not to be negative. We did not end up at Elbow Beach, but he took us to Horseshoe Bay instead, at our request to have a beach with amenities. Our day there was fabulous. My husband is a large man so he could not use the small beach chairs that we were provided so we ended up renting from the attendants on shore. The cost of this excursion was about $190, we could have gotten off the ship, taken a van to Horseshoe Bay for a total round trip cost of $28 for two. The rental of chairs and umbrellas at the beach would have been and additional $20, however we would not have had the bottle of rum swizzler that was provided by Dean. All in all our beach day was great but costly. To give more credit to Dean, he was so gracious, he actually understood our wishes for the day and made the suggestion to go to the alternate beach, on the way he gave us a lovely narrated tour of parts of beautiful Bermuda.
