Zhen Lihui was an excellent driver! He picked us up on time, communicated clearly with us throughout the day, provided us with good recommendations, and gave us interesting information about China and the Great Wall. Of the 3 known great wall entrances closest to Beijing, Jinshanling is the furthest, not crowded and the most beautiful.
We had a very good driver, Mr Gao Dapeng, who is a very knowledgeable driver/guide and it wasn't a sales pitch about China 😊. We'd recommend his services anytime.

He was communicative via WhatsApp. We were easily able to communicate via translators. He was friendly and on time. He helped me to get my ticket and showed me how to get to the cable car. The actual site was beautiful and well worth the visit.

We had such a great day with Yu Yongtai. We can highly recommend it. Even without English the communication works with the English-Chinese translation via app. Punctual, friendly and super good guide.

Lovely time with Mr Sun!
Booked last minute during Golden Week and immediately had Mr Sun confirm he’d be at our hotel for 7am. Was a brilliant friendly driver throughout in a comfortable car. He dropped us off and helped us inside when buying tickets. He gave us plenty of time to explore the wall and Gubei. For Golden Week the section at Simatai was very quiet in the morning.
Afterwards we met Mr Sun back with an easy drive direct to our hotel again.
I’d happily recommend this trip to anyone looking for an easy half day tour to the wall.

We booked this in advance to go to Jinshanling part of the Great Wall of China. Our driver Sun Zhishun was very prompt on arrival and had a sign in English with our name on it. The car was clean, spacious and comfortable.
We communicated with each other via translatation apps with no issues. Sun Zhishun was very friendly and accomidating and made sure we were looked after with good advice, water and snacks!
Would definitely recommend.

Very quick and smooth ride with our driver Wanghui. The car is comfortable and clean and we were picked up on time and Wanghui helped us get our tickets at the wall as well. Really recommended.

The transfer was very smooth, with our friendly driver Li Qingshan, who was very helpful in securing tickets for us at the Gate, as well as picking us up again. My only negative remark, would be that the car was slightly on the crammed side for 6 passenger, especially for 5 hour round trip. Otherwise a very smooth and good transfer which I can only recommend.

We had an amazing experience at Jinshanling Great Wall. Han Wei picked us up outside our hotel and, although he didn't speak any English, he was very adept at communicating with us via translator apps. He pointed out interesting sites on our way and we chatted quite a bit. The car was comfortable and clean and I felt like we were in good hands.
I had visited Badaling many years ago, so I wanted to see something a bit different this trip. Even though it took half a day, I am so happy that we visited Jinshanling. Not only was it secluded, but there was a small section that has not been renovated and it felt like stepping back in time. Also, the architecture of the wall is more beautiful here than what we experienced before and the terrain is not quite as steep. Yes, we trekked up some serious steps to reach the wall (since they stopped running the shuttle for the season due to making snow along the road), but the wall itself was not very steep at all.

Great experience. Our driver was Zhao Xhongyue and although he did not speak English, we comunicanted well with the translator. He was very thoughtful and careful with every detail, we had water and some snacks and fruit in the car. The journey was also very confortable in his car.

We had Mr.Yu Yongtai as our driver and a great experience to the Jinshanling Great Wall for sunset. He was also able to get us a shortcut so we didn’t have to walk the extra 5km out of the west gate! Great driver and a genuinely nice guy.

Pros- simple straightforward transfer only , if this is type of tour wanted. Punctual .
Cons- although driver assisted somewhat with the tickets, he spoke no english and the use of the translator not 100% useful. Driver or the ticket lady also did not explain that the shuttles at the Gubei WT was an additional cost… only stressed that you must be down from the wall by 2pm. On hindsight, better to stay a day at Gubei WT to explore it better as was very rushed combining the two.

Gao Dapeng was our driver to the Great Wall at Jinshanling. It was the day before National Day, with terrible traffic, but he managed to get us to the site in time for our sunset hike. He is very courteous, a good driver, and even bought us snacks for the drive back.

Tian Wei was super helpful driver who picked us up on time and greeted us with a very kind welcome. We arrived in good time at Jinshanling and he ceven helped us purchase tickets for the gondola and entrance fee which are booking did not include. He also was extremely helpful in giving information about places to eat in Beijing. He also worked with our needs to stop for a bathroom break in spite of pushing it for time to get home with his family. Very courteous and highly recommend his service!

We booked a transfer to Jinshanling and had a great experience! We had to move the day of the transfer because of some bad weather, which went very smoothly. When we visited the wall there were not many people and could take some lovely photos.
Our driver explained us how we could best walk and helped us with buying the tickets. Afterwards, we wanted some food and he took us to a nice restaurant and waited for us to finish. Would highly recommend!

Everything was perfect. Our driver, Zhao Jinfu, was very puntual and attentive. His English wasn't perfect but he translate everything we needed yo know (and we didn't book the tour with a guide, just transport). He provided water and snaks, too; and even offered to come up to the Wall with us. Jinshanling is the best part of the Wall that I've seen and it was not crowded at all.

We rode with 孫先生 (Mr. Sun), and had a fantastic trip! He shared history facts during the drive about the Great Wall (I speak Chinese so we didn’t have to rely on an interpreter which made that easier and enabled him to share more with us than a typical drive might entail). We were also impressed with his driving skills. The traffic back into Beijing was HORRID due to all of the trucks heading into the city needed to have their loads checked and thus holding up the one lane road, but he was able to weave us in and out of traffic safely and professionally, allowing us to get back to the hotel in a more reasonable amount of time. He was also willing to drop us off at the main gate and pick us up from the east gate, so we had the chance to hike along the top of the wall for several hours, which was awesome. We did go over time by several hours due to the traffic back and the duration of time hiking, and sent him money via Alipay for the additional time spent in the car, so do keep that potential additional cost in mind if you want to hike the wall, but in our opinion it was worth the cost! Also, he had several water bottles prepared for us, and snacks - which was a thoughtful gesture. All in all, a great trip at a reasonable cost for the time spent. You may be able to find a lower rate by negotiating with a taxi driver, but I enjoyed not having to worry about that hassle at 7am in the morning.

Visiting Jinshanling section of the wall is definitely worth it! It was beautiful and not crowded at all. At times there were no other people around us on the wall.
We took the transfer without the guide. Tian Wei was a good driver, and even though he didn't speak English, we communicated well via translate apps. We walked to the East Gate and he was waiting for us there.
