A few fleeting hours on the Great Wall- recommended!

As I had just half a day, it was great to find a short tour with a flexible pick-up time. From the start, the company made sure I had all the necessary details about what to bring and where to meet. I wasn't looking for a guide, just someone who would take me up and back with a few tidbits of information and help sorting out tickets. David, the driver, was terrific- very cheerful and knowledgeable- and had me back to the hotel in time for dinner, such was his knowledge of Beijing back streets. As for the Wall- I'll be back, and next time with more hours to explore. Excellent all round!

If you’re looking to see The Great Wall on your layover, I can’t imagine a better way to do it. The driver met me at the airport with my name on a sign. He was extremely nice and helpful throughout the entire journey. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I’m so glad I booked this tour.

Our driver, David Lee, was very punctual, we left at 6:30AM on a pleasant drive till Mutianyu and got there before 8AM. He helped us buy our tickets and we toke as much time as we needed to walk around the Great Wall, after that he was waiting for us at the same spot that he parked. David was really nice, the things that he didn't know how to say he used the translator, so we had no problem what so ever with communication. I recommend this tour since it is private and money worth it. They also offer water, bananas, wi-fi and we got a little panda at the end. PS: get there early and you will have the Wall only to yourself.

David picked us up promptly and was a very good driver. He had water and snacks for us enroute. He pointed out sites along the way and even gave us some video information about The Great Wall prior to our arrival. Once we arrived, he escorted us to the ticket counter and purchased all the necessary tickets on our behalf. He made sure that we knew where to go thereafter. He was waiting for us upon our return and even had a nice birthday gift for me since we were there for my 50th birthday. He also made a couple of stops for us on the way back to our apartment. We would definitely recommend this option for an easy way to get to the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu and explore the wall on your own. We left Beijing at 7 a.m. and arrived before the crowds.

Visiting the Great Wall of China was an amazing experience!I have nothing but good things to say! If you're a solo traveller and want to experience the Great Wall of China at your own pace then this tour is a good choice. My driver was Xing, he is very kind and friendly. He picked me up at my hotel lobby on time with a sign holding my name. During the drive he offered bottled water and a battery pack to charge my phone, as we arrived he also helped me purchase tickets. As you are experiencing the Great Wall of China, your driver waits at the bottom for you. Xing was very patient and told me to take my time and that when I was on my back in the shuttle to give him a call so he could turn on the airconditioning in the car early as it was very hot day! On the car ride back, Xing offered more water, two bananas for me to snack on and also gifted me a Panda plush toy as a gift! As a solo female traveller who took this tour I really recommend this to everyone!!!

My family joined the Mutianyu great wall tour on 22 May and the driver who took care of us during this trip was Hank Li. He came 30mins before the pick up time and prepared banana and water for us. Along the way, he explained to us some sights and gave us some recommendations as well. Also, he was very patient as he waited 30minutes for us to have our lunch after the agreed pick up time from Great Wall. All in all, the tour was great and most importantly, comfortable.

I was flying back to the states and had a 10-hour layour in Beijing. I booked this trip on a 1-day notice. I arrived in the airport and breezed through customs faster than expected. I had almost 2-hours to wait till my scheduled apt and I sat in Starbucks. Surprisingly, Jack approached me after 45 minutes and was early. That just made everything easy and more enjoyable. Jack quickly took my carry-on luggage and we were off. Jack is an independent operator. Where other bookings might be through an agency, you get an operator here that is making his living through the use of these and other listings. His price is lower than others, but Jack stays at the bottom while you do your thing at the top of the Wall. So people expecting a full-service tour need to look elsewhere. If you want to be guided to the wall and assisted in all aspects of ticketing and questions, then there is Jack. Jack plays videos in his car while driving to the Wall. He is very prepared and professional for the service he offers. I also noticed he is very accommodating and relaxed. I just had 6 hours to kill and Jack was willing to drive me anywhere. We didn't have enough time after the Wall, but Jack was open to driving me through Beijing, etc on my way back to airport. Jack's english is enough. It's not the best, but his attitude makes up for any lack of communication. I expect to return to Beijing in the future and I will use Jack again wherever I decide to visit. Also, I really enjoyed the Wall. I was flat out tired from walking that dam thing after 3 hours. Carefully read about the Wall before going....it can be dangerous and the steps are amazingly steep in areas. But wow..... Also, go early if possible....as when I was leaving the amount of people was 3-4x more. Also, that 1950s style ski-lift thing scared the poop out of me. I kept thinking this is China. Also, make sure you get your official certificate that says you climbed the Wall. It is across from the ticketing room. It's free but they try and sell a photo inside the cert. I just had my ticket laminated for 1. But back to Jack....book him now before someone else grabs the date!

Amazing tour! We went October 2017 - Jack the tour guide picked us up from our hotel and provided some snacks and a drink. Took us up to the Great Wall and helped us get tickets and gave us some tips etc. There was lots of traffic there and back but Jack did everything he could to make sure we could have the full day at the wall. I would highly recommend this to anyone and I would like to thank Jack for giving us such an amazing day!

This tour was great! Our driver was so nice and picked us up early enough to get us to the wall when almost no one was there which was great for photos. He had snacks and water available and helped us out purchasing tickets and letting us know which ones where which! He then tooks us to the airport.

Jack was a wonderful guide and I highly recommend him! He was very friendly, the car he picked us up in was very comfortable, and he provided snacks and drinks and wifi during the ride. He also helped us buy tickets at the wall and patiently waited to allow us to take our time and enjoy the sights. If I return to China, I would definitely book a tour with him again!

My driver Jack was really wonderful to spend time with for the day. He was knowledgable of course and had a great vehicle for us to ride in. It was a one person tour just me, picked me up early at the hotel near the airport for a quick journey to this part of the wall. Jack was such a great help and guide. My husband and I went to China for our honeymoon and wanted to see the Great Wall. I picked this experience because it was flexible with timing. Jack picked us up from our hotel with snacks and water for us. He was a great driver even with all the traffic. He showed us a great video on the history of the Great Wall. Highly recommended! Good driver, came on time, offered us water and snacks. My sunglasses had broke on our way, he owe me his sunglasses, which was very helpful as it was sunny day. In short: Taking this tour with Jack Wang was the best part of my two week vacation. If you want easy booking, clear meeting instructions, a pleasant and safe ride, a kind tour guide, and a once in a lifetime experience, book this tour. I wanted an early start to my day to beat the heat and the crowds and Jack agreed to pick me up at my hotel at a very early hour. He had water, snacks, and wifi, and was an extremely safe driver. He told me right from the start that because of some recent storms, the government had closed some of the wall access points but that he was communicating with a local guide and we would still try. We headed out to Mutianyu which unfortunately was closed this is very rare as I understand. Jack was very communicative with me, called his local contacts, and we went instead to another Wall access point in a town nearby. Because I was a solo traveler, Jack not only showed me the way to get up to the wall from the road, but he lent me an umbrella as a walking stick because the paths were slick and hiked up to the start with me for my safety. Really cannot stress enough how kind and helpful Jack was especially to a solo female traveler who could not speak Chinese. While my day was a bit unexpected because of the closure, I'm sure the regular tour is just as special and that Jack makes sure you know where to go. After I finished exploring the wall, Jack brought me to the Ming Tombs and Sacred Way, both times helping me buy the correct ticket and showing me where to enter and what I should make sure to see. I even requested on our way back into Beijing that he drop me at another location besides my hotel and he not only did so but suggested a hutong and park to explore and made sure I was headed the right way. Again, I had the best day thanks to Jack. I felt safe and clear about where we were going and there were no tourist traps or stops that I did not request. Go on a day trip with Jack - you won't regret it!

The tour was perfect. Jack arranged to pick us up early to ensure that we could fit the tour in, before being dropped off at the airport early in the afternoon. He was punctual and helpful, assisting us to make the booking at Mutianyu for the cable car, shuttlebus and entrance and advising where we could meet him after our trip to the wall.
