Had the best time. Richard met me at the meet up location and was very easy to get a hold of. The experience was amazing, I learned how to correctly draw the happiness character and made one to take home. Definitely recommend to do!

This was an awesome way to dip into the cultural side of Beijing.Learning they ways of writing.He was nice and he explained happiness and taught me and my children something new!!! It was fun and challenging. Richard gave us a great lesson in calligraphy. He was very patient with us and taught us all the tricks for making great Chinese calligraphy art! He even gave us a tour later of a buddhist monastery outside of Beijing a few weeks later. He's great teacher and a great friend! One world, one heart!

Great experience when visiting Beijing

This is a great activity to do when visiting Beijing. We really enjoyed the class and got to take home a canvas with our efforts. Richard was very friendly and professional and explained the techniques very well. It was great to learn a new skill.

Richard was an incredible man to meet on our travels. He was so knowledgeable about the history of China and Calligraphy. We learnt so much from him. He made an extra effort to come and meet us at the subway and offered us some delicious tea and chat upon arrival. My husband and I left with two beautiful pieces of calligraphy “happiness” to hang in our home. Thank you for your positive, friendly and vibrant personality Richard. We had a fantastic time and would recommend this to everyone!

Richard was a kind, funny, and genuine man. We are so happy we spent our time with him to learn calligraphy. We started with the 30 min session, but extended to the 1.5 hr because we were having such am enriching experience. He served hot tea, had plenty of practice materials, and organized practice "challenges". Then, he had large red hanging ornaments for us to paint our final product on, which we got to take home as a souvenir! I highly recommend this experience for people who want a relaxing cultural experience right next to Wangfujing, in a hutong!

Amazing experience with Richard

Our teacher Richard took great care of us with our calligraphy lesson. We were late as our bus back from the Great Wall was late, and even though we missed 40 mins, Richard stayed late and started our 1.5hr lesson when we arrived. Be mindful that the location on Viator is not the exact location. It takes you to the road, but pay attention to the building numbers. It is in the arts centre and shares an entrance with mixed martial arts club. There are restaurants either side. Would have been useful for us to know. We did get a message to help us though and Richard came out to the street to find us. Thank you Richard for a wonderful lesson

Nous avons été très bien accueillis et nous nous sommes entraînés avant de faire notre calligraphie finale que nous avons pu emmener à la maison ! Un super souvenir pour la chambre des enfants et des parents ;). Il est possible de faire également des cours d’aquarelle.
