Itinerary

Your tour begins with pickup from your Beijing hotel at a time of your choosing (typically between 8am - 8.30am). Traveling by private vehicle, set out on the around 1.5-hour journey to the Mutianyu Great Wall, as your guide offers some background information about the famous wall — a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

On arrival at Mutianyu, you will have around 2 hours to explore and can choose to ride the chairlift to Tower 6, returning by toboggan, or take the cable car to Tower 14 (recommended for those nervous of heights).

After visiting the Great Wall, stop to enjoy lunch (at own expense) at a local restaurant and sample some typical Chinese cuisine, then return to Beijing to visit the Summer Palace.

Spend the rest of the afternoon at the Summer Palace, where highlights include the Long Corridor, Seventeen Arches Bridge, Qingyan Stone Boat, Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill. Explore the magnificent 18th-century Imperial gardens both with and without your guide, pausing to admire the palatial buildings and pavilions and pose for photos beside the pretty lakes and bridges.

Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 5pm (depending on pickup time).

Great visit with my guide Inès. She spoke French perfectly and she answered all my requests for the visit. The places we visited were beautiful. My hotel pickup was scheduled at 7am, so we arrived very early at the Great Wall and there were very few people. It was a wonderful experience.

Yang and our driver were great. Arrived early to the hotel, honored request to stop somewhere for suvienors all at the Wall are 1,000 higher than a short drive away and they ensured our 4 year-old son enjoying himself. Learned a lot about the history of the Wall//China and always ensured we had plenty of water. Summer Palace was beautiful, Yang kept the sellers inside at bay and always offered to take photos. Cannot recommend enough!! Great experience.
