Really enjoyed this tour. Anne was a fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide. Each of the stops was memorable, especially the stop at Les Beaux.

Natalie was a delight, everything went smoothly, what a wonderful way to spend half a day. Even a casual fan of Van Gogh will find this trip fascinating. The emotional effect of wandering St Paul de Mausole will stick with me. Beauty and sadness.

You really get a great glimpse into Vincent’s life here and what happened to him. Standing where he painted starry night and envisioning that was incredible. Wonderful tour and Roman monuments and coliseum fascinating.

Nicely curated walk. Pace was a tirfle fast. Could have spent a little more time in the Roman ruins in Arles and in St Remy.

Our "Half-Day Van Gogh Tour of Provence from Avignon" with Nathalie was an absolute delight. The 3 places visited where Van Gogh spent time were all different and interesting in their own ways. The guided tour of Arles was informative and we even got a photo of my Van Gogh tote bag in front of the cafe that had inspired the painting on the bag. Les Baux de Provence was a picturesque hilltop city in existence many centuries ago and again very picturesque. The hospital in St. Remy where Van Gogh spent several years toward the end of his life had been serving patients with mental disorders since the 1000’s - impressive. His view from his room of the ever-changing garden inspired some of his paintings. Our guide, Natalia, gave us a lot of information as we drove from place to place and during the guided tour of Arles.

First, we appreciate that even though 3 people signed up, the tour was not cancelled.
It was great to visit Arles and St Remy. The towns were interesting and we loved learning about VanGogh’s connection to each. But we felt very rushed. With no real time to look around. We felt our guide was very concerned about getting back for her afternoon wine tour.
If time is so tight for a morning and afternoon tour for the same guide, I suggest you either start earlier for the first tour or split it out differently between guides.

Gordana did an excellent job giving us just enough information on Van Gogh and how he spent his time in Provence. She took us on a walking tour of Arles and showed us a number of places that were subjects of his masterpieces. I wish we had more time to explore Arles, but the time that we spent there was just right for a half-day tour. Gordana then gave us some time to explore Les Baux-de-Provence. Finally, she drove us through the Saint-Paul Asylum before she guided us on a walking tour of St. Remy-de-Provence.
Due to the tour being only for half a day, you do not get a lot of time to take each location in and appreciate the places that inspired Van Gogh. However, Gordana does a good job of managing the time, so that you see as many things as possible without feeling too rushed.
Gordana has a great personality. She keeps things light and fun. We did two different tours with her, and we feel lucky that we had her as our guide.

We enjoyed the tour despite cold and rainy weather. I most enjoyed visiting the mental health sanitarium where Van Gogh committed himself for a year. It was interesting to see the sites that inspired his paintings.

Anne was our guide, and this was a fantastic day! Anne provided us with so much history of Provence. She took us to the actual places that inspired many of Van Gogh's paintings.
This tour exceeded all expectations we had. We would recommend this to all who visit the region.

Walking in Van Gogh’s footsteps was awe inspiring. Driving in Provence was a trip through history, geography & beauty. Arles, Baux & St. Remy were a wonder. Gordanna, our Guide, was a humorous & informative delight.

Gordonia was excellent! We enjoyed her friendly demeanor and fun stories about Avignon! The trip to Arles was quick and the walkabout was very interesting and easy to do. Info on history of the area, Van Gogh was excellent. Then a drive to Les Baux de Provence and time to walk up to see the views znd get a panini. Lots of beautiful shops here! Finally stop by ghe mental institute where Van Gogh voluntarily spent time or trip to town center for 1// hour walkabout. Very pretty trip and great guide!

We expected the guide to have extensive knowledge of Van Gogh in Provence. That was not the case. Instead we got a history lesson on the area and very little about Van Gogh. Many many places we did not get to see where Vincent painted. We came a long way to France to trace his steps and this tour was terrible. The stop at the quarry was unnecessary. Had NOTHING to do with Van Gogh.

Our day with Ann on the Van Gogh tour was one of our best tours in our three week journey to France. There were just the two of us with her and we really got a chance to enjoy her considerable knowledge on a more personal level. We knew that we would learn factual information on this trip, but we were so much more impressed by the level of personal or emotional impact the day had on us. Ann made us really be able to feel like we were standing in Van Gogh's shoes as she took us to the Arles locations where the artist painted and we could see the city landmarks that were in the paintings. We also visited two other villages that were wonderful on their own. We could not have asked for a better guide than Ann to share the day with and her experience level and commitment were clearly evident. We would very highly recommend this tour.

The tour was absolutely enjoyable! Our guide, Anne, was delightful as well as exceedingly informative. She was prepared with copies of the appropriate Van Gogh paintings for each stop along the way, which really brought him to life! Her English was impeccable and her range of knowledge (re. both Van Gogh and the Roman history, architecture, presence, etc. in Southern France) was vast.
