What a wonderful experience! The guides Linda and Daniel were warm and welcoming. Very committed to safety. Knowledgeable about the city and its history. Easy walk from the cruise port. Highly recommend. So much less expensive too than a similar experience offered by the cruise ship

This was only my second time kayaking and it was wonderful! Great instruction from Kristoff and it was so cool to see the painted houses up close, as well as kayak through the fjord.

An interesting experience with a potted history of Alesund provided as our small group kayaked around the waterways of the city. Accompanied by 2 experienced kayakers we were given a thorough safety talk beforehand, together with a quick, but sufficient, briefing about using the paddles etc. All in all a very enjoyable morning which we'd recommend.

Fun and different style of kayaking

Patrick was a great guide and kayaking in Alesund was beautiful. We felt secure getting in the kayak with the instructions given to us beforehand, and felt very comfortable navigating the waterways. Kayaking through a town with a very different experience and then the views opened up on the coastline and were gorgeous. We loved the experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Nikita was our guide and he was very patient with us, since for most it was the first time kayaking. Weather was challenging with some strong winds. He looked out for us and turned us back before it became too difficult to make it back safely. He then did a short walking tour to make up for less time in the kayak. It would have been nice to have gone out farther and seen more of the area around Alesund via kayak but that was beyond the tour company’s control.

The biggest issue with this kayak trip is going around the city was not very scenic. It was fun Kayaking and the guide was nice had helpful but not much to look at. We kayaked to the industrial side of the town and was hoping to see a few more sites then just this. It may be that this all there was to see in Alesund. Might have been better time spent hiking to the scenic view instead.

Don’t! False advertising/ defective equipment.

Don’t waste your money. Not as advertised. The listing shows single kayaks, however when we went in after a large cruise group, there weren’t enough so we were put into double kayaks. The kayak had a broken rudder, it was defective equipment. I got half of what I paid for. There were long delays waiting for the large group. I asked the tour operator for a 50% refund and they lied and said that the tour only included double kayaks and because Viator takes 22%, take it up with them. I will. If it’s not resolved with a full refund, then I am done with Viator. Do yourself a favor and just rent a kayak and get in the water. The tour only stated the obvious. Inexperienced paddlers made this a lackluster tour. If it had shown double kayaks I would not have booked. So frustrating. It’s very expensive to be in Norway in the summer. A waste of time.

Hey there! Im so sorry to read this, but we do provide tandem kayaks in group tours, specially with guests coming with the cruise ship. We had a lot of guests and our guides managed as good as they could, sorry again if you didnt experience the tour as you imagined. If you booked through Viator, you can contact them and take it up directly with them. You are welcome to come back to us when you have the opportunity again :)

My cruise ship changed its departure time at the last minute and the tour operator does not make ANY refunds for any reason. Be careful booking this tour as if you feel weather or some reason out of your control you will not be refunded.

Hi there, The terms & conditions when booking are clearly stated by viator upon booking. When you book a trip and can´t show up, we´re not able to sell these spots. I would suggest you to check out your travel insurance too.

My favorite part was seeing Alesund from a different perspective.The two guides were great and very helpful with the first timers. Kayaks were doubles with a pedal operated rudder, nice.

We had an outstanding time. The guides were friendly and helpful, and the trip was exactly the right length. The show provided all the equipment to keep us dry and the guides did an excellent job of telling us about what we were seeing. This was a very enjoyable afternoon. Linda was an excellent guide and the people in the shop were very friendly and accommodating to others in our group who had specific requests.
