The meeting point is within walking distance from the port/pier and most of the hotels. Look for our staff on the pier, yellow jackets, carrying our company logo. Be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Please note that "gate" means "street" in Norwegian.

Your “fjords to trolls” excursion starts at the Norway Excursions Alesund office near the port. Meet your guide 15 minutes before departure time, board your air-conditioned vehicle, and drive out of Alesund.
Make a quick photo stop at Kokarsteinen bakery to snap photos of the Storfjord, and make a second photo stop at Gudbrandsjuvet, an impressive gorge.
Continue up to the Trollstigen Plateau, where you stop for about 30 minutes to enjoy the view from the platform over the Troll Road and the valley below.
Your final two stops are the Stigfossen Waterfall and Trollveggen Besoksenter, also known as the Troll Wall, and one of Europe’s tallest vertical rock faces.
Drive along the Rauma River back to Alesund and stop to take photos at Stordal Gamle Kyrkje, also known as the Rose Church, before returning to the Norway Excursions tour office.

- This excursion without lunch lasts 6.5 hours, while the version with lunch lasts 7.5 hours. If your ship is in port for at least 8 hours, you can join the tour without lunch and return in time for your ship’s departure. For ships in port for 9 hours or more, you may choose either the lunch-included or lunch-excluded tour. We routinely begin this excursion 30 minutes after a ship arrives in port.
- Trollstigen is closed for the 2024 season. The risk of falling rocks poses too great a danger to keep the road open until adequate safety measures are implemented. Trollstigen plateau is still accessible. Due to the route change, we will not be able to visit Trollveggen on this tour.
- Service animals are not allowed by default as other customers may have allergies, in case a service animal is needed please contact us

Great day and tour was very good. Tour staff was excellent and bus driver was great. We left on time and returned by 3:30 as advertised. The drive and scenery was amazing and beautiful.
Enjoyable ride through the countryside. Saw lots of lakes and fjords. The hike at the last stop was very interesting.

That is true...it was AMAZING!
HOWEVER: The only downside was there was no monitoring of excessive coughing or illness onboard and a guy behind us was coughing up a lung every 60-90 seconds ( I counted) for the ENTIRE trip. Just 9 feet away sat a second tour guide who could have easily asked him to mask up. Or better yet SCREENED him before boarding as unable to travel.
As a result my partner and myself cought the same horrible respiratory infection and it ruined the last 4 days of our cruise. We're now home 8 days later still sick as dogs.
There was a great variety in the your and the guide was so helpful in highlighting key points and also helping to find a lost family member. Yhanks
A long drive through the beautiful Norway countryside. Breathtaking views, particularly of fjords, idyllic farms with sheep and cows, and the Troll road with many waterfalls. Bathroom facilities lacking in the first few hours, resulting in long lines....this can be improved on. Overall a great day.
The views at the attractions were lovely but there are long stretches of sitting on the bus just looking. The tour guide provided a lot of information during that time which helped. The lunch was okay but I’d rather have. Had a sandwich and more time at the sights. Perhaps if I had not already done several similar tours in Norway it would have been more inspiring because it is a nice tour and the distance is far so there is little choice but a long drive.
Great experience and definitely appreciated the driving skill on all of the narrow switch back roads. It was a clear sunny day when we left but as we got closer to the mountain top it became cloudy and damp. We were not able to see the waterfall at the top, but we could hear it and the walk amongst the mist was mysterious adn set the mood :-). As we drove down the mountain, we came out of the clouds and could see the switch back roads... very cool!
Excellent excursion from the cruise port. A perfect itinerary when you have mobility challenges. You can not capture the scenery in pictures. It is a must see and experience in person.
What seemed to be a long ride turned out to be fun. After seeing the Trolltunga cliffs, we took off driving up the nerve-wracking 18 switchback road to the top. Worth every penny for those views from the top.

Great tour - I had opted for the version without lunch, and it worked well as we had more time at the viewing site for the troll road. The tour guide was very good, and the timing wasn't rushed as we went to each place. We even had time at the end for an "extra" tour of downtown which was very informative and was appreciated. I recommend this tour for anyone trying to get as much in as you can in the one day you're in Alesund.
This felt like a really comprehensive tour where we got to see the countryside of Norway that we would’ve missed from a cruise boat. The buses were clean, nice, and very comfortable.
Our tour guide and bus driver were fantastic! We had a bit of weather disappoint us on the troll road but otherwise the scenery was beautiful. Lunch was tasty too! The tour was a bit long. I would say if the first stop was skipped it would have been ok, and with weather, the troll road view platform could also have been skipped or replace with a stop at the bottom, or in the national park before it.
This was an amazing excursion. Our guide was fabulous and kept us on schedule. The road to Trollstigen was incredible and a little scary but worth it. Spectacular scenery. We highly recommend this tour

A beautiful tour with incredible views. Our tour guide Donique was fabulous. She was engaging, fun, knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. Our bus driver was skillful in handling the tricky roads. The scenery and waterfalls were magnificent. A long day that was surprisingly relaxing.

Amazing views! I’ve never seen anything like Trollstigen and I’m so thankful I was able to experience this. Props to the bus driver for navigating the 11 hair-pin turns like a pro.
This tour was excellent. We were picked up in an air conditioned bus with WiFi right from our cruise terminal. The staff was easily identifiable and easy to find. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and taught us a lot about the sites driving through norway and the norwegian culture. We stopped at a couple of scenic lookouts for beautiful photos and stopped at Gudbrandsjuvet gorge which had a cute little cafe. Trollstigen was the next stop and it was incredible with plenty of time to walk around and get photos before driving down the winding road. At the bottom we had lunch which was included with the tour and was delicious. We saw the troll wall then drove back to the cruise port. The drive back was quite long (2 ish hours?) but with beautiful scenery. Definitely recommend this tour
Wonderful experience with beautiful views. Our tour guide Iria did a wonderful job telling us about the area, the culture, the language and her experiences while being lively and funny. The driver did a great job on the windy road.
Our guide, Iria, was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable and a lot of fun! She kept us informed and entertained throughout the entire day visiting the beautiful sights near Alesund. The food at the lunch stop was also delicious. I highly recommend this tour! It was easy to find them at the pier and they were quick to answer an email inquiry I had sent.
This tour was absolutely incredible! All the stops and roads were amazing! It was cloudy and some rain but still breathtaking! Our guide was Danny and he was entertaining and informed us with so much info! The lunch was included and it was good!

Very long bus ride! Tour guide was great, but talked so fast that it was hard to understand all of her information. Bus driver was Amazing with driving so many hairpin and steep routes. Wow!

Landscape and Vitas are absolutely beautiful if you truly want to see this part of the world it’s a must. Our tour guide Antonia was very knowledgeable, kind and friendly. I would recommend this tour for nature lovers however I would recommend not doing the lunch option. The food was poor and expensive.

This was our favorite tour of our entire trip! Lea was a great guide. The views were spectacular. Everything about this tour was fabulous. The lunch was DELICIOUS. The waterfalls Spectacular. The Troll Road exciting. I would highly recommend this trip.
