This tour of Alesund was interesting. The guide has personal knowledge and a connection to the area and a deep appreciation for the city. The meeting point was easy to find from the ship, simply follow the big green footprints painted on the pavement down the pier, under the roadway and out the other side. The meeting point was just across the road and was a ten-minute walk at best.
Dress warmly if it is cloudy or cool as the wind blowing across the water makes it chilly.
*If you are looking for something additional to do while in port after the walking tour, try the food tour.

Even if the weather was not nice, Mila provided us with great information about the city. I would recommand this tour to anyone visiting Ålesund.

Even though the weather wasn’t nice, Mila made this tour very entertaining and educational. We learned about the history of the town and saw wonderful buildings with all of their history.

Our guide was personable and informative. She gave us so much information that we were able to go out on our own afterward and see exactly what she was teaching. Our teens were very engaged - and the candy treats sure helped. Ha

It was just my husband and I.
Our last stop was in a shop that sold local native costumes. We learned a lot about them from both Mila, our guide, and the clerk in the shop. Quite memorable.
Mila did a wonderful job telling us about the city and it's history during our delightful walk.

Very easy meeting point within 5 minute walk of the cruise terminal. Really fun and informative tour with lots of historical and social facts along with access to a beautiful hotel and a shop selling traditional dress. Our guide Myla was wonderfully warm and friendly with excellent English and great recommendations for what we should do after the tour.

We were not given the information regarding a start time. At 9am they rang, and we were still aboard the cruise ship, to ask where we were. As their opening times don't start till 10am, we were taken aback. Still, willing to compromise, I asked if there was a later tour in the day we could join, and she hung up.
At no point, on any correspondence, was there a specified start time. We expected 10am and would have there in good time for that. Indeed, had we had any confirmation, we could have made the 9am start. We have double checked, just in case it was our mistake, and there is nothing to indicate a start time on any of it.

as confirmed by the date on the Viator website, a message regarding the meeting location and pick up time at 9 am was sent to you a month before the tour, but you clearly did not check your email and therefore decided that the tour would be at 10 am

Our guide - nickname "Supernova" was wonderful! She told us great stories about the history of Alesund, and the history of her family in Alesund as well! I wrote 3 & 1/2 pages in my journal about what I learned from Supernova during that 2 hour walking tour! Fabulous experience!

We did a walking tour with "Super Nova" today. It was her nickname she told us as her name is difficult to remember. She was amazing. It was 2 hours well spent, rain and all. Her knowledge of the town and its history is superb and she also delivers it superbly. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Alesund.

Mina shared her knowledge and love of Alesund as she guided us through the beautiful streets of this city. She explained the history of the city's Art Nouveau reconstruction following the disastrous fire of 1904 and also what daily life is like here.
We enjoyed our tour very much and recommend it to other visitors.

We only have limited time in Alesund and our tour guide Radmyla from Uniktur did a great job to bring us around town and give us all the history. She knew our limited and titling the route for us. She is wonderful.

Instructions on where to meet the guide were worse than poor. We finally found the guide at 9:15AM. We were the only ones that found her. She spent the next 15 minutes trying in vain to reach the others. Although the guide was great, we had a 1 1/2 hour tour instead of two hours.

To improve the meeting point, we always send messages to all our tourists with the detailed explanation and photo. However, half an hour delay we don’t remember, usually we spend time after the tour answering questions and giving advice.

Our guide Stacy was wonderful. Was on time and met us on the pier where we got off the ship. She gave a good historical account of the city and was good about answering questions anyone had. The walking tour around the city was well worth it.
