- Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.

We loved the dog mushing ride, meeting the dogs and learning all about the way of life here for the dogs and their trainers.
We stopped on a glacier. Ot was unreal to be standing on a glacier! We sampled the water and took many great pictures!
I highly recommend this adventure. We felt very safe the entire time. Our pilot Liam was a great your guide.

What a great experience the pilot of the helicopter was Connor he went above and beyond, to make sure we had a smooth and safe flight. We did the 2 hour excursion which included dog sled on the glacier and then landed on top of a glacier where we got to dip our cups in sky blue pond on the glacier. We will remember this trip for the rest of our lives. When we come back to anchorage we will have Connor take us on another excursion. Make sure you book 6 to 8 month ahead of time.

From our arrivals to our departure, the staff was amazing. The pilot was so comforting, explaining everything. We went dog sweating, and we had a great mush team.. and then landed on a glacier. This is a must do trip.

This tour was unforgettable! The helicopter ride offered stunning views, and our pilot Darrell was fantastic. We never felt rushed. Dog camp was amazing — we had time to interact with the dogs and enjoy sledding. Landing on the lower glacier and seeing a melt pool up close was surreal. Everything was smooth, safe, and exactly as advertised. Don’t miss this!
For an extra fee, transport from Anchorage to the departure point is available & was seamless.

Totally worth it! Was amazing to be able to see things from above. The dog sledding was a bucket list, the glacier hike was like being on another planet. Our pilot was great!

Helicopter trip to dog camp, dog sledding, stop at lower glacier. Beautiful scenery and extremely friendly and experienced pilots and dog mushers. Plenty of time to play with the dogs and visit the glacier. Connor the pilot was wonderful! Highly recommend

Our helicopter ride was spectacular-- we saw bear, mountain goats, and 4 moose!! The iceberg landscape looks like matble-- with breathtaking with deep crevices and pools of aqua blue water. Plus, driving the sled dog team and learning about how they work as a team was over-the-top. The pilots, iditarod trainers and the sweet huskies made this our favorite trip excursion ever!!

An AMAZING time. We had a 15 year old and a 7 year old and they both absolutely loved it. Now, it is expensive, even for Alaska but it is worth every penny. We were concerned with the cost (if you have a car and don’t mind driving I would drive rather than take the transport) but between the helicopter ride (15 yoa favorite), the dog sled (7 yoa favorite) and the glacier walking (the adult favorite) everyone had a time they will remember forever. As a precaution wear layers, it might have been a warm day but we were in short sleeves on the glacier because it was so warm - plus it makes for even better photos. An absolute recommendation to do - and if you are concerned if the price is worth it, don’t be, it is.

We were picked up from the Marriott Downtown. Transfer to site was seamless and recommended. So much to enjoy along the way.
Cody was our pilot. Flying low over the glacier was absolutely amazing!! Due to high winds we were unfortunately not able to safely land at the dog-camp. We did stop at a lower part of the glacier and were able to walk around and drink some very cold glacier water. Fascinating landscape.
Due to missing the dog-camp we were given a partial refund which was processed before we even returned back to base from the glacier.
We would definitely do this again. Amazing company and people to spend the day with!!

This was definitely an experience of a lifetime for me and my three friends! Everything went great from the start with our hotel transfer to Alaska Glacier Lodge. We were checked in and on our helicopter with beautiful, clear weather for our journey. First stop was Dog Camp where we met our musher (who happened to be from my hometown - what are the odds?) and interacted with the dogs. We all took turns standing on the back and sitting in the sled while getting pulled by these magnificent animals. We even got to hold one of the puppies. Then it was off to the Knik Glacier where we explored the glacier and even drank the delicious glacier water before our time was done. Our pilot made sure to fly us over a couple moose and a bear out enjoying the day. I highly recommend this tour to anyone!!

The glacier walk was awesome ! We should have also done the dogsled part but it was canceled due to weather . I got half of my money back , but I also paid an additional $150 fee because I was over 250# . I believe I should have obtained half of The $150 fee for half of the trip . I called , and they said too bad because they charge the same fee even if you do the glacier walk . A definite downer in my eyes .

The dog sled experience was great, much better than others we've done. Got to pet the dogs and take pics with them, and the staff was really wonderful. The glacier landing was beyond words and our pilot was able to spot some moose and a bear for us. Great ride and being on a glacier was a do not miss moment.

Dogsledding was a once in a lifetime experience. We had a blast. And the helicopter on a glacier was incredible. We were even able to fill our water bottles with glacier water. This was an experience of a lifetime.

My first time in a helicopter and Michael, our pilot, did a great job in making me feel completely comfortable. It was an amazing adventure and I enjoyed it immensely. Got an up close and personal with the dogs and puppies. So much fun!

My husband and I did this tour with our 16 and 17 year old and had a excellent time. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The trip is pricey for a family of 4 but I hands down would do it again. It’s a once in a lifetime experience

Our pilot Shad B. was very personable and professional. He helped point out wildlife- we saw from a distance, bears, sheep and goats. Very soft landings at both the dog sled training area and the glacier. Our dogsled musher Ellen was very informative and let us all switch places to take turns on the sled. The puppies were off season, so we missed them. The weather was great on our day. The glacier landing area was so amazing that we didn’t want to leave. Definite recommend!

This was an incredible trip. We were awestruck (literally!) by this giant of nature. I love helicopter rides and this was my second one so it was thrilling! We did not get to do the dogsledding due to weather but we were so happy with our experience. I highly recommend this trip. I just wish everyone could do it to understand what is so precious about nature!

Magical Alaska! Dog sledding on a snow covered glacier, check! Landing on Knik Glacier to drink clear beautiful blue glacier water, check! Don’t forget to bring a bottle to collect water! Professional team from start to finish. Our pilot Shane was wonderful and kept us safe on a day with strong wind gusts. Cannot say enough about this company and the tour. Definitely the highlight of our two weeks in Alaska!
