Talkeetna boasts skyscrapers of granite and ice instead of steel. Explore the wonders of Denali National Park on this 1.25-hour flightseeing tour. Check in at Talkeetna State Airport 30 minutes before your flight and board your plane seating a max of six passengers. (You may also schedule a complimentary transfer from your local hotel, inn, B&B, or rail depot.)
With a guaranteed window seat, you can sit back and relax as you enjoy the views. A two-way headset is provided so you can communicate with your pilot as he/she shares commentary along the way.
View the vertical rise of Denali starting at its base of around 2,000 feet (610 meters) to over 20,320 feet (6,194 meters). You’ll see the West Buttress Route of Denali, a popular place to climb, and the Kahiltna glacier system (two miles/three km wide and 45 miles/72 km long).
Then, fly east and take in the flowing river of the Ruth Glacier, the Sheldon Amphitheater (glacier landings often done here), and the Great Gorge with its mile-high granite walls. You’re looking at the world’s deepest gorge. Snap shots of the intensely blue meltwater pools that dot the glaciers.
During your flight, you’ll see Denali Mountain (20,320 ft/6194 meters), Mt Hunter (14,573 ft/4,442 meters)) and Mt Foraker (17,400 ft/5,304 meters), which tower above the other peaks of the Alaska Range, forming the northern horizon. Snap shots of Mount Frances, formally known as Bergchen, German slang for ‘Little mountain,’ and the North Buttress of Mount Hunter, a 4,000-foot climbing challenge.
Curious about the glaciers and want to set foot on one? Upgrade your flight package to include a landing on an actual glacier. Stand beneath the towering mountains in a tranquil world of snow and ice, before you’re taken back to the airport.

This was my favorite adventure of my two week tour of Alaska. Aided by one of the few clear days in Alaska, the views of Denali were spectacular.

We booked a ride to ring in the new year and it exceeded my expectations seeing Denali from above. We got lucky the weather was clear although windy and we could see the entire area. The pilot was super knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. I definitely want to return in the summer/fall time and try to land on the glacier. Thanks for the fantastic time and opportunity to see Denali in all of its glory.

Our flight was canceled due to weather. The offer for alternate flight or refund was made. Handled well.

Wow. Landing on a glacier and stepping into the snow. What an incredible experience. Chad was an excellent tour guide and pilot making sure each of us had a lifetime experience and we did

Our pilot Doug was great and knowledgeable pointing out all that we could see. Weather was bad so couldn’t do our glacier landing but can’t control the weather. 1st class operation and highly recommend them.

The whole thing was memorable. The pilot was awesome. The plane was very clean. It was a beautiful weather day. We saw all the mountains. It was a very smooth landing on the glacier to get out and walk in the glacier and be that close to all those mountains is just an incredible feeling.

The trip was cancelled unfortunally because of the weather. Now we are waiting for the whole refund. They said that it would probably take more than 7 days, maybe 14 days to pay the money back. Ridiculous. It took me 2 minutes to pay you.

Highly recommend this tour. We did the glacier landing tour and we were lucky that the weather was very good. Stunning views of the mountains and a great pilot. Awesome!

Seeing the size of magnitude of the mountains and glaciers was very impressive. Unfortunately, we were unable to land on the glacier, but the pilot did an outstanding job of showing us on the sides of the area.

Amazing flight around Denali with a glacier landing. If you do anything in Alaska while visiting, do this! Flight was beautiful and the landing on the glacier was much smoother that I thought it would be. If you get air sick don’t go. Otherwise this trip is a must.
Lloyd_W, May 2022
The beauty of the mountains and glaciers from the plane was indescribable! How awesome it was to actually land and walk on a glacier!! Wish we could have flown on the west side of Denali. (the winds were too strong)

Amazing experience! First day had to reschedule dew to weather, which they were very accommodating we were able to fly next day. Very organized and informative throughout the tour. Thank you!
