Get picked up from your Crete hotel in the morning aboard your 4x4 Land Rover transport, traveling into the island’s wild interior for a day of unexpected discoveries, local culture, and lesser-known sights.
Check out landmarks like the Potamon Dam and the Kourtaliotiko Gorge, where you can take a look at the strange rock formations while sipping on a coffee or Raki. Climb back into your vehicle and continue driving to the village of Spili, a hamlet that’s long-been associated with its celebrated spring water. Have a sip of the cold mountain water from one of the village’s 25 lion’s head fountains and then check out the village shops selling artisanal crafts.
Once you’ve gotten suitably “dirty” from your backcountry adventure proceed to Preveli, known to be one of the most picturesque beaches in all of Crete. Take advantage of the unique opportunity to swim in the beach’s cold mountain waters as well as the ocean, offering a refreshing break from your off-road adventure.
Following your beach visit, take a break for an included 3-course lunch featuring traditional island specialties accompanied by unlimited wine. Once your belly is full, drive back up into the mountains on your return trip. You are dropped off at your hotel at the end of the adventure.

This is an excellent tour if you want to find out more about the Cretan culture, flora and fauna. Our guide was Daryl and he went out of his way to show us the plants and animals found around Crete as well as the sites. We were told where to meet as we were staying in an Airbnb as opposed to a hotel. The lunch was in a great location and delicious. Again, Daryl was fantastic and made the trip most enjoyable. Highly recommend!

You really get and appreciation for how wild and beautiful Crete is on this tour. The scenery is absolutely amazing. Our guide was great and an a terrific driver. I have to admit I'm a bit afraid of heights so some of the off-loading had me clenching my seat. The lunch at the beach taverna was delicious and the beach was sunny and calm. We did a swim in the crystal clear ocean before heading back. A great day even for the faint of heart like me!

Michael our tour guide was wonderful. He was informative, patient, humorous, handsome and a good driver. He drove us in the landrover on mountain trails to the south side of the island to see the mountains, gourges, drank mountain spring water and swam in the Lybian sea. We had a great lunch.

This is a very highly recommended day out. The guide was very knowledgeable and the scenery spectacular. It was really interesting to see the completely undeveloped and dramatic south coast of Crete. A day not to be missed.

The guide was fantastic and spoke in English very good. If you have, opportunity then take this day trip and enjoy the 2 sides of Crete. The scenery is stunning. But we did not had opportunity to see Preveli beach as after the delicious lunch we had a bit time just at Libyan sea not at Preveli beach.
Just ask the guide to take you there.

Everyone who visits Crete should take the opportunity to go on this day trip if they can. The scenery is absolutely stunning, the guides knowledgeable and eager to make sure that everyone has a great day. the tour for us started in Rethymnon where we were picked up from outside our hotel. we then headed inland, stopping first to watch vultures ride the thermals around the inland mountains, then again at the glade of Hermes which is a beautiful place. We then travelled on through some amazing countryside to the village of Spilli. Here we sampled fresh snow melt water from a spectacular fountain comprising of 25 lions heads. Next up Preveli palm beach on the southern edge of Crete where we stopped for a delicious lunch followed by a refreshing swim in the clear waters of the Libyan Sea. We then slowly retraced our steps back to Rethymnon through more picturesque countryside.
A tremendously enjoyable day made special by our knowledgeable and professional guide/driver.
