Yes, booking a guided tour in Nice is an excellent way to learn about this part of the French Riviera. You’ll be able to visit small markets, enjoy local treats like the pissaladière, and learn about interesting spots in Nice’s Old Town that don’t typically make it on visitor itineraries.

Per one customer who booked the Walking Tour of Old Nice and Castle Hill, “Amazing tour! We caught it on a rainy day but our guide Lara was so amazing that we were able to make the best of it. With our approval she adjusted the tour a tad to accommodate for the rain. Such amazing information and she gave plenty of great recommendations for the rest of our trip.”

You should expect to pay US$25 and up for a Nice tour that could include everything from a walking tour of Old Town to a bar crawl to explore the lively nightlife scene. Segway tours, hands-on perfume workshops, and boat excursions typically cost US$50 and up per person.

On the lower end of the price range, you can book tours like Pub Crawl Nice: Drink, Laugh, Meet the World for roughly US$28. You’ll get an authentic look at the city’s famous nightlife scene and get introduced to fellow explorers. Pricier options include VIP tours like the French Riviera Private Full-Day Tour (from around US$1,260), where you’ll explore Antibes, St. Paul de Vence, Eze, Monaco, and more, all with a guide showcasing the best of this world-famous coast.

While on a Nice tour, you can expect to see some historic parts of the city, the shopping district, and the beaches. Itineraries vary based on their focus, but booking a private tour will give you more flexibility to cater to your group’s interests.

Consider a tour that visits as many attractions and landmarks as possible within the city—and includes unique experiences. For example, book the Nice Small-Group Walking Food Tour with Local Specialties & Wine Tasting, and you’ll not only get a guided trip through Old Nice, Castle Hill, and more, but you’ll get to taste Provençal cuisine and learn a few cooking skills to take back home.

Three days in Nice will provide you with enough time to leisurely explore the Old Town, enjoy local cuisine, and soak up some rays at the beaches. If you have more time in Nice, you can book a day trip to nearby Monaco or the Provence countryside.

September through October is a lovely time to visit Nice, as there are cooler temperatures and fewer visitors. This time of year overlaps with the wine harvest, so you can add on a day trip to Provence if that interests you. Visitors in July and August often find the beaches and shopping areas quite crowded.
