We are three retired couples that have been traveling together for more than 15 years. We have been on dozens of tours together and we all agree this was the best tour we have ever been on. Mago, the tour guide not only talked about history, he talked of French culture, art history, current events, and the background to the things we were seeing. He was both funny and serious and the 8 hours flew by. We spent much of the time in smaller villages because this was a personalized tour and that is what we wanted. It was a perfect day with a perfect guide.

This was a fantastic tour! Worth every penny! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the entire region. He gave us historical background information so we could fully appreciate the sights and the area. As somebody with difficulty walking distances, he gave us plenty of breaks and time to ensure we were able to enjoy the views and locations. The French Riviera and Monaco are gorgeous destinations, having a fantastic tour guide just adds so much to the trip. I would recommend this tour to anybody!

Our guide was very knowledgable and provided many unknown insights during the tour. Our weather was not the best but he made sure we were able to see everything on the tour and never missed a beat! The trip showed first hand what those soldiers faced as they stormed the beaches. The Normandy American Cemetery is definitely a must see as well, as many of those that lost their life that day are buried on those grounds.

Mago was a fantastic guide for our family trip. Perfect combination of history, knowledge, and fun for us and the kids. Extremely flexible on the itinerary. Private tour is suppose to be flexible; however, Mago was not. He seemed confused on how to order the day because we asked to start late. He did not listen to our priorities of places that we wanted to visit.

I would like to answer to your review personally.
First of all, I have been a tour guide for 6 years and have NEVER had a negative review.
That being said. You booked a "French Riviera" tour. I suggested to start by the farthest and finish by the closest.
So naturally, we started by Cannes and Antibes and finished with Monaco.
Towards the end of the tour (about 4:00pm), you said : "you didn't want to go to Cannes and Antibes (after we actually did them and were on our way back to Monaco), and supposedly you booked a "Monaco Only" tour", we double checked together your confirmation email and you were wrong.
But I told you that I would be happy to offer you 3 hours of my personal time for free (I finished at 9:00pm) to visit Monaco even though I didn't have to. And you were very happy!
As always, I did my best. I took you to the best spots, told you the history and answered all your questions. Didn't I?
When I dropped you off, you thanked me for the wonderful day.
2 days later, I saw this review... I was very surprised, I really was...
So I texted you asking you why this negative review?
You didn't answer. So I texted you asking if I could do something for you in order to make you change your opinion? You never answered...
By the way, when you say "he seemed confused", you are right, I sometimes was because you told me that you needed to go to the toilets every 20min, so I always had to plan and think about the different roads/ways to be able to get you to the public toilets.
As you can see on ALL my other reviews, I am known for taking ownership and caring deeply about my customers.

Even though we visit Nice on regular basis we decided to have a guided French Riviera tour and Mago was just what we needed. We had 2 teenagers with us and he tried his best to engage them and make it enjoyable for all of us. We seen South of France with fresh eyes and from some amazing view points. We had great time and would highly recommend Mago to anyone.
