We loved this tour and our driver Jaoued definitely made it more special. He was very informative and friendly. Eze was a beautiful town full of scenic moments and shopping. Monocco and Monto Carlo were breathtaking. We went a few days before the formula one race so it was really neat to see them setting up for the race. This was a must see tour!

Itinerary

After morning pickup directly from your central Nice hotel, meet your guide and small group and set out along the dramatic coastal roads.

After a scenic drive, arrive in the medieval village of Èze, where you have time to stroll the charming cobbled lanes, pretty gardens, and castle ruins. Before you leave, take a tour of the Fragonard perfume factory and learn the secrets of one of France’s most prestigious perfume brands.

Continue to nearby La Turbie, where the star attraction is the dramatic ruin of the Trophy of the Alps, a 164-foot (50-meter) monument dating back to 6 BC.

After crossing the border into Monaco, head straight for Monte Carlo, where you have the rest of the day to take in the highlights. Pose for photos by the landmark Rock of Monaco; watch the Changing of the Guards at the Prince’s Palace; admire architectural wonders such as the Justice Palace and Monte Carlo Cathedral; or visit the Oceanographic Museum (own expense).

Finally, pay a visit to the world-famous Monte Carlo Casino, and drive the legendary Formula One circuit, where the Monaco Grand Prix is held.

After a full day taking in the highlights of the French Riviera, return to Nice, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

This tour included a visit to a perfume factory and shop. Way too much time was spent on this part of the tour making the rest of the day seem rushed. The locations visited also lack the French charm that we experienced in places such as Antibes and St. Paul. Our tour guide was very good.

Mac was a great guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. There is some walking in Eze that requires many stairs so wear comfortable shoes.

Our driver, and I apologize that I can’t recall her name at the moment, was fantastic. First- a great driver navigating outrageous traffic on the day after the Formula 1 race. She was extremely kind and accommodating, helpful and absolutely committed to providing an outstanding experience. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history and sites. She gave excellent instructions and recommendations. She was one of the best tour providers ever. I am hearing impaired and consequently had a bit of a struggle understanding what she was saying as she drove but when we were standing and I could see her face, I had little trouble. I’m sure if I had asked to sit up front she would have been agreeable. (I didn’t ask because sonrine dkse was sitting there). My husband and grandson went into the casino at Monte Carlo and even came out winners - first time! I highly recommend this particular guide and tour.

Our driver, Aaron, kept us well-informed and engaged throughout the entire tour, from our meeting point to detailed explanations of each stop and what to expect. We explored the charming village of Eze, visited glamorous Monaco, marveled at the F1 racetrack, and admired the stunning views of the Monte Carlo Casino. Aaron also offered great recommendations for lunch, leading us to Tony’s Pizza. The food was outstanding, felt like a cozy meal prepared by a grandmother in the kitchen.

We traveled as a group of 8, and Rena (not sure of spelling), was high energy and shared her knowledge of the area non stop. Our first stop was Eze, very historic and the walk included a large incline to reach the top. Then we went to Monaco and Monte Carlo, where they were preparing for the formula 1 race the following weekend. It was an all day jam packed event.

You can't go wrong with this tour. The only thing we found that time in Monaco was not sufficient, as Parking (elevators after parking take time there), walking to see the change of guards, traversing the whole park, having lunch, using the bathroom, taking pictures around the cathedral, and walking back again can barely be done in 85-90 minutes. The extra time spent at the factory should have been utilized for other parts. That said, it was one of the best of the three tours we took in the French Riviera.

Rainer was the perfect personality to help unite 4 couples from all across the world into a wonderful 7 hour tour of Eze, Monaco and Monte Carlo. He landed us at a gathering spot, gave us some insight and set us on self-guided, personal wanderings which allowed each couple to enjoy the time away. The tour was with Liven Up Nice. The transport was comfortable and the places visited were well worth seeing. Unfortunately the information shared by the tour guide was disappointing. It was difficult to hear the commentary in the van and when being shown the sites, the tour guide was well ahead of the group, only sharing information with those with him. He had no consideration for those trailing the group (one gentleman could not walk fast) and made no attempt to make the group inclusive.

We had a fantastic time touring and our guide Zara was excellent. She was informative, pleasant and entertaining. My teenage kids especially enjoyed the rides to and from our destination. Lots of interesting facts shared with humour as well. Plenty of time shared to walk around and take I the sites and the operation was like clock work.
