Great intro into Nice

A good way to get an overview of Nice. Villafranche is very pretty. Busses are very clean. Only downside is that stops aren't that easy to identify.

Only one bus! Tracking does not work so you have no idea when the bus will turn up. Everyone gets thrown off at stop one. Not good value for money at all.

This is really what Americans call value for money. We had a very nice tour with Driton the driver. We were only three people on an afternoon trip five hours. The driver was extremely helpful. Could explain very well. It was very interesting to see Monaco and Monte Carlo and Ville france and Eze. Parfume factory was least exciting when doing a tour. In Nice, do this.

Switch from high to low season schedule. No notice from Viator or provider. Waited 1 hr 45 minutes for first pick-up (huge waste of time). Le Grande tour bus makes everyone get off the bus at stop 1 and makes you wait 1 hr to get back on.

I have been on lots of hop on hop off buses in various countries and this was not good . Luke others have said the bus stops are not marked so you don’t know you are at the correct place , also not many buses and we waited an hour for one that when it did finally come - station 4 on the map , it was full and we were unable to get on the bus . Once on the bus the journey its self is good but we did not get off as we’re unsure if there would be space to get back on , or find the bus stop . Viator do not give you a map , so I had to go on the main hop on website to find where I thought the bus would be , then even had to ask in a shop that I was on the correct side of the road , which I was not .

Affordable, well organized option to an Uber.

This is a very affordable, well organized loop around Nice and the surrounding area. A simple Uber ride to some of the Destinations would cost you more than the price of the day long ticket. I went around one time and enjoyed the commentary and then stopped at the port for lunch and then stopped again for some pictures in old town. I did, however, for the first time ever lose my red bus ticket and despite having the day pass electronic ticket on my phone was advised that I needed to have the piece of paper when I tried to re-board the third time.

Don't be ill on Tour day!!

Unfortunately, due to not being well on the tour date, I and my wife were unable to make it on the tour. Despite communicating this to the tour company, in an attempt to re arrange for the next day on two occasions that day, no response was received. My tickets were thus voided and nobody has offered a refund. Poor service on the tour company, and Viator.

Hop On/Off during winter months

The Nice Hop on/off tour bus was an ok experience. Having used a similar service in other parts of the world we've visited, we had high expectations. The bus only ran every hour on the hour. This was mainly due to it being the winter low season and not many riders. The Tour bus route gave us a snippet of what Nice and the surrounding areas were like. Not too many unique or interesting sites to get off a each stop to see. We did get a good view off the sea as we drive up and down the coast. The driver was very professional and had great driving skills to maneuver the large bus through the narrow and slightly curving streets. I believe that one day would have been enough during the winter time, but probably two days would be better during the summer to be able to stop and walk around before hopping back on. Overall, we had a good time seeing the area on this tour ride.

Not the best experience. The drivers were not friendly and never made any announcements as to the stops which the majority were not clearly marked and difficult to spot throughout the city. The drivers also took constant breaks (every hour)and would make you get off and transfer to another bus in order to continue on the tour again. Could have been better.

We waited an hour for the bus. We then went one stop and the driver told us WE had to get off because he needed to have coffee and pee. You don’t want to hear the rest of the story. Don’t do it. You will regret it.

Great trip if you can find the bus stops. Not one of them was labelled up with the name or number on the map. They were just regular bus stops. No timetables at the bus stops either. If you got on at any stop other than number 1, you had to get off the bus for approx 40 mins before you could continue the tour. Not good for children. Not good value for money at all.

Unfortunately we saw the bus drive past but weren't able to catch it as it was unclear on the booking where any of the stops are. On other hop on hop off bus tours we have been on there are usually a few of the main stops listed so you have a starting point

It was very difficult getting the busdriver to believe that we had prepaid the tickets Even when we showed him the confirmation. He made a phonecall to his boss, and when he heard it was the company Viator he just sighed and said NO! An further: the bus stops were not marked and difficult to find.

It is challenging to find the stops, so that's frustration #1. The buses are supposed to run every 45 minutes. We waited over an hour and finally gave up to just walk around the port. I requested a refund through Viator, but they have yet to reply. Nice is such a lovely city!! Profoundly disappointed by this outcome. I'm sure they mean well, I just think they are bad with communicating with their guests.

Bad experience with hop on hop off at Nice

We bought from Viator without details stop or routes. We thought when I booked there will be confirmation with the details. But none. We can find from googling for the routes. So when the day came, we chose from Cathedral area. However, there’s no clear information or signage where we need to stop or wait for the bus. We walked more than 1 hour, chasing the bus and asked to more than 7 local people around the Cathedral area. We are tourists here, how they expected us to know the exactly bus stop without clear information? So when we finally find the tourist information office and asked them, the time almost end and we finally only took 1 around without stop or drop off in one place. Luckily I still can contact Viator but with different people in chat. I think Viator need to select the tour operators or check the completeness information in the apps as reference so easier and help customers to decide to book.

My only complaint is that Viator was almost impossible to contact to find out where we were to catch the bus. Luckily we found out ourselves, but only from the local tourist guide & when we arrived on shore on one of the ship’s tenders.
