Must do tour!

Deane is the most amazing tour guide- and made my experience so much fun. I was able to see so much of New Zealand's best in such a short amount of time. I saw the Kiwi Birds, The GlowWorm Caves, and the beautiful Blue Springs. Deane truly made the tour group feel bonded, and gave us recommendations of where to eat/ ways to make the most out of our trip. Would recommend this tour for anyone who wants a memorable trip!

Exceptional tour!!!!

I got picked up from my hotel. We then stopped for coffee, followed by 2.5 hours at Hobbiton which included a free beer, then lunch(which was included), then a tour of the worm cave. While all of this was going on, Liam, our bus driver, was absolutely the best person ever. He is so nice, personable, knowledgeable, and was always making sure everyone was having a good time. I would I could have Liam as my tour operator EVERYWHERE I go. Thank you for making this tour what it was. This was the best tour from Viator I have ever done.

A magical day

Waitomo cave is absolutely beautiful, and I learned a lot while I was there. The Hobbiton Movie Set was everything I ever dreamed it would be. The attention to detail is amazing, even down to the restrooms. And the tour guides at every turn were amazing. On the bus, our guide kept us entertained and informed and I learned so much about the history of New Zealand.

A Must-Do!

This experience was better than we expected. Not only do you get great, non-rushed cave time, the glow worms are beyond interesting and beautiful. You also go through a second cave system (without glow worms) that is really cool as well. The guide at the cave was knowledgeable and passionate about the caves and their history. Our guide that drove us from Auckland to the caves (Jaime) was kind, funny and helpful, giving great commentary about the areas we were traveling through. He even had helpful recommendations on what to do and where to eat for the rest of our stay in Auckland. Highly recommend this tour - the drive to and from the caves was just as stunning as the caves themselves. The small tour group sizes are also appreciated. Don't hesitate - book it! (But also bring a warm jacket....the caves are chilly!)

Amazing experience thanks to a knowledgeable crew

We had an absolutely fantastic day whale and dolphin watching in Auckland! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and we were incredibly lucky — spotting dolphins, whales, and plenty of other marine life during our excursion. What really made the experience exceptional, though, was the crew. They’re marine scientists and experts, and their knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for the ocean and its wildlife came through throughout the entire trip. We learned so much, and they did a brilliant job of explaining what we were seeing while also making the whole experience fun and engaging. We also really appreciated how respectful the whole experience felt. The emphasis was always on observing and appreciating the animals in their natural environment without disturbing them, which made it feel like a genuinely responsible and ethical way to experience Auckland’s incredible marine wildlife.

Wonderful Tour with Dean and Anna

Wonderful, well-organized and relaxing tour. The meeting place is easy to locate with many signs. Mobile voucher is fine for check-in and they provide a sticker as an identifier. The bus is comfortable and not full. The driver, Dean, tells us many interesting tidbits about New Zealand in the 2hrs on the way then drops us off at Shire's Rest. Once done, we line up for the 10am tour, get picked up by a different bus and the real hobbiton tour begins. It's a slow pace so everyone can take as many photos as they want. There are many doors, so no crowding happens. We then get a free drink then head off to the tent next door for the all you can eat. Delicious food with many options. I really enjoyed the deserts as well. We then drove back and back in the city by 3pm. Thank you, I really enjoyed this tour.

Great tour along with amazing driver!

If you love LOTR or anything to do with Hobbits- this tour was amazing. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, the drive up was beautiful and our driver Dave was amazing and kept us entertained plus was about to speak to the group with history and cool facts/history of New Zealand. I would definitely recommend this trip if you’re visiting.

Highly recommend. Bus is comfortable, takes you to hobbiton, lunch, and glow worm caves. Driver Ara was extremely knowledgeable and beyond friendly. Breaking down the cost of the tickets lunch and travel, it’s a steal. Both Hobbiton and glowworm caves were must see in Auckland

Wonderful tour with amazing sites!

We had an excellent tour including Rotorua, Waiotapu, Te Puia, and Māori. Our tour guide, David, was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. He was very helpful with the needs of his tour group. The sites were amazing! The geothermal springs and mud flats were amazing. The tour was enhanced by David’s selection of stops for snacks at the best bakery and ice cream shop! It was a wonderful day...

It was a wonderful day and the great organization made it very relaxing for us. On the way our tour guide Alessandro shared a lot of stories about the landscape and the founding of Hobbiton in particular. It was very interesting and entertaining. Grand slam tour with Timmy

The time flew by with Timmy who gave us so much information during the tour and took us to some great spots for food and snacks. He was also quite the DJ and a very entertaining host. Waitomo is truly something that is unique and was great to learn about and we also were able to see some kiwis, see the geothermal activity and learn a lot about the Māori culture.
