We didn't realize this was a self guided tour-but was amazing! we were one of perhaps 10 total on this tour so it was a very private, not crowded experience. Would highly recommend it to everyone!

Due to thunderstorms the attic was closed and tours were canceled. The Colosseum staff gave us an email where we could request a refund. We asked Colosseum Tours, the tour provider, about getting the refund since they purchased the ticket and they did not respond to us on this issue. Even if the weather was good, the audio program was a disappointment. We were given a link to the audios and had to stream them through our phones, noting it would be a better experience with headphones or earbuds. We did have these so had to listen from a phone turned down low so we did not bother other visitors. Also, the files cannot be downloaded in advance so we had to use a very slow internet connection at the Colosseum, which resulted in poor audio quality. While public WiFi may have been available, for security reasons it was not an option for us. We informed Colosseum Tours of our problems with the audio. Their first response was we probably had not read the instructions about the audio. When we said we had they responded the files cannot be downloaded they can only be played. The tickets were expensive and their service was TERRIBLE. Avoid Colosseum Tours if you want a good experience visiting the Colosseum. We are also disappointed in Viator. We have used them for years and always had a good experience with their tours and providers. Going forward we will scrutinize the providers more and are now reluctant to recommend Viator to others.

We've been to the colosseum 4 times and I swore I wouldn't go back unless they've redecorated it lol but this visit was unbelievable!!!! No crowds (which was the best part ) we got to do it at our own pace and see everything from above Truly the best view! You take an elevator up to the top floor and then do stairs the rest of way I'm very out of shape but I could do it easily Great time !

The access was really good, but the audio tour wasn’t location specific, so it was not as informative as it could be. Also, more specific directions to the correct elevator for attic access would have been very helpful.

Do it. We basically fastpassed our way all the way to the top and had the most majestic views of the Colosseum as well as Arch of Titus. Worth every penny.

To start I would like to highlight that this Viator experience is for the attic tickets only and does not provide any fast track option etc. The information on where to go (which line to get in etc is not given – we discovered that you queue in the main queue, so give plenty of time to ensure that you get there on time, as the group before us was turned away because they missed their time slot). The experience itself however was absolutely amazing and definitely something you need to do, with the views being amazing, providing a different experience when visiting a key site in the city.

Absolutely amazing experience. If you want to really do the colosseum from high up you have to get the Attic experience. Hardly anyone with us and we could see everything even looking off into Rome.

This Viator deal is simply the attic ticket for the Colosseum. The tickets are challenging to purchase directly from their website, so this is easier. Of course, you’ll pay a premium for that. We feel it was entirely worth it, as the attic area is not crowded and the views are amazing! We also had Arena tickets, which were nice but less impressive.
