Our guide, a Palestinian Lady named Alishibara ( something like that) was excellent. She brought us through the different chapels and the catacombs of the Basilica San Pietro. She was extremely knowledgeable about the Basilica and brought it to life for us.

If I could leave less than one star I would have. There was nothing that told us that it would take two hours to get into Vatican City through security. When we went to pick up our tickets, we got there an hour early and they would not give us the tickets until the time of our skip the line. They walked us around the corner to the lines and we waited for probably 45 minutes and the gentleman that said he would walk us through and let us skip. The lines disappeared, and we never saw him again. We did not even make it to security before we had to head back to our tour bus to get back to our cruise ship. There was a group of people walking with us to Vatican City. They were supposed to be doing a tour and the guy disappeared on them too, so they were left without a guide. This was an awful experience. We were so excited to see the Sistine chapel and it did not happen. Not sure why you guys can’t just give a QR code when tickets are purchased instead of having to go to a separate location to get that and why they did not let us get that ahead of time where we would’ve had time to go through security and make it to our 115 timeslot for the Basilica. I will never use you guys again and would encourage no one else to also. It was a very horrible experience, and our money was completely wasted.
We also had tickets in the morning to do a Colosseum tour through you guys. Went to where we were supposed to get our vouchers and could not find the person to get them from. There are six or seven people there handing out vouchers and you have to find which one is your person. By the time we made it back, they said it was too late. And the voucher said that they were €27 per person which is €54 total. We paid US$168. You guys have quite a scam going. Again, more money wasted for something we didn’t get to do. I guess it doesn’t matter to you guys if people don’t get to do their activities as long as you have your money. I’d like to know who I can get a hold of to get a refund for our tickets that we did not get to use.

We are very sorry to read that you had such a disappointing experience. However, we would like to kindly clarify a few points, as some of the information in your message does not fully correspond to our service.
First of all, the waiting time you described was due to mandatory security checks. These checks cannot be skipped by anyone, regardless of the type of ticket or access purchased.
If you arrived around 12:00, it is very likely that the Basilica was not yet accessible at that time. On Sundays, access to St. Peter’s Basilica may be restricted due to religious celebrations connected with the Holy Father, and the Basilica generally reopens later, around 13:00. For this reason, neither you nor any other visitor would have been able to enter before the Basilica reopened.
Our staff accompanies customers to the priority access area, which is the service included in the booking. They cannot remain there for the entire waiting time, as they also need to assist other customers and organize other scheduled activities. Therefore, they did not “disappear”; they had to continue with the operational management of the day.
For continuous assistance throughout the visit, it is necessary to book a guided tour. We are sorry that you were not able to visit the Sistine Chapel or the Vatican Museums, but the product you purchased from us was for St. Peter’s Basilica, not for the Vatican Museums or the Sistine Chapel.
Regarding the Colosseum, we would also like to clarify that this is not one of our products. We did not sell you Colosseum tickets, and therefore we cannot be responsible for what happened with that activity. Our agency always has staff available at our office, so it is very likely that the Colosseum service was provided by another operator.
In the past, we used to send tickets directly to customers, but this often created serious logistical problems, as many guests got lost in Rome or arrived at the wrong entrance. For this reason, we decided to use a clear meeting point, where customers can exchange their voucher for the actual tickets and receive the correct directions.
Regarding ticket prices, each agency has its own operational costs and cannot sell tickets at the same price as the official face value. This is the same principle that applies to any service provider. Prices also depend on availability, demand, organization, staff, and assistance. In particular, Colosseum tickets are often very difficult to obtain, which is one of the reasons why we do not sell this product online.
We remain at your disposal should you wish to clarify any further points. However, based on the facts described above, we kindly believe that your review may be misleading for other customers and does not accurately reflect the service actually provided by Gyash Tours.

If you buy tickets online you have to go to the vatican to pick up tickets. It is misleading because there are people saying skip the line (employees of viator), so you buy a ticket and you can t use. I ended up going back to the free line and standing in the hot sun for an hour.

As clearly indicated in the product instructions, the voucher received after booking is not the entrance ticket. The voucher must be exchanged for the actual tickets at our agency, before proceeding to the entrance. Tickets are not collected inside the Vatican.
It is possible that you tried to access the entrance using the voucher instead of the official ticket, which unfortunately cannot be accepted at the security checkpoint.
We are sorry that you had to wait in the heat, but waiting times and security procedures are managed by the Vatican authorities and are not under our control.

It refers to access through the reserved/dedicated entrance line, but all visitors must still pass through mandatory security checks required by law and managed by the competent authorities. On most days, with the available security gates open, the waiting time is usually around 40 minutes, although it may vary depending on crowd levels, police/security procedures, and circumstances outside our control.
Our staff’s role is to assist guests before entry and guide them to the correct access point. Once visitors enter the security-control area, the process is handled by the site authorities.

Your staff were very friendly and helpful. However, it is not a “skip the line” experience. It is a “shorten the wait” experience. We waited over 90 minutes using your service.
Your description needs to provide a better information of what is expected when booking this tour.

I don’t usually write reviews but I feel compelled to share my experience. I was in Positano when I booked a day trip to Rome with my mother and was very distracted. I accidentally purchased skip the line tickets to The Basilica for that day instead of the following day. Panic set in and I called Viar and the local ticket office in Rome. The local office that operates this tour was so accommodating and told me I was fine to show up at the same time the following day and they would transfer the tickets to that day no problem. What could have been a really crappy experience turned into many thanks when picking up our tickets. Even better, they take you in a group and walk you to Vatican Square and walk you all the way up to security. We waited maybe 10 minutes for them to walk us over and then maybe another 10 minutes in line before we got to security. Very easy and very worth it if you are not interested in doing a guided tour. I cannot say enough about this particular location accommodating my mistake and making it right for us. Many thanks and our time at the Basilica was absolutely spectacular!

I have used viator on several occasions to visit sites in Rome, the website is fairly easy to navigate but the times of entry I chose don't register correctly, I will call and they readily fix the time it's just annoying it happened twice
