Itinerary

Meet your private guide and driver at your accommodation in Lisbon. Embark on an 8-hour private tour to Sintra to learn about the history, culture and traditions of this charming village.

Make your first stop at the 18th-century Palace of Queluz, once the official residence of King D. Pedro IV, then continue to the quaint village of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk through the strikingly picturesque streets that seem to contain a shrine, chapel or fountain around every corner.

Admire a mix of architectural styles in both the interior and exterior of Pena Palace, one of the best examples of Romanticism from the 19th century. Continue to the westernmost point in continental Europe, complete with coastal views of Cascais and Estoril.

In Colares, explore the cellars of Adega regional de Colares. With 2 centuries of wine-producing history, a visit to this cellar can teach you all about wine producing in the region, including a tasting of the products.

On the way back to Lisbon, visit Cascais, a former fishing village turned royal getaway and vacation spot for the Portuguese elite.

Your 8-hour private tour ends with drop-off back at your Lisbon hotel.

Worth the cost for the experiences!

Jodi_C, Aug 2025
It was so worth the cost for the unique experiences we had. José was an excellent guide, tailoring the trip to our interests and making sure we all had fun! He had to rearrange some of the activities due to the forest fires and he was thoughtful to avoid crowds and traffic in his approach. He made stops so we could try the authentic pasteis de Belem (the original pasteis de nata), see the Sintra Santorini, visited a vineyard grown in the sand before going to the cooperative that sold the wine to try it, among so many more sites, and had the best fresh fish lunch (and leisurely enjoyed it with a view of the sea). Highly recommend José and the tour!

Great private tour at a nice pace. Luckily we were able to get timed entry tickets we didn’t realize we needed to purchase separately.

Perfect day!

Our guide José was absolutely fabulous: good humoured, service minded and knowledgeable. He even guided us inside the beautiful Pena palace. We saw a lot on one day and would recommend this tour to everyone.
