Prepare for a fun, wet and thrilling ride!

Our original booking had to be cancelled due to rough seas but we were able to book in for the following day and fortunately it went ahead (tip to have as much flexibility as possible) We were on the water for about 3 hrs and saw hundreds of friendly dolphins, a whale, some beautiful and rarely seen false orcas and an inquisitive turtle! The guide was super informative and we came back with big smiles on our faces.

Our Full-Day Jeep Tour of Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo was one of the highlights of our trip to the Azores! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, but what made the experience truly exceptional was our tour guide, Jose. Jose was the perfect representative for both the tour company and the island of São Miguel. His knowledge of the island’s history, culture, geology, and natural beauty was incredible, and he shared it in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. It was clear how deeply he cares about preserving this amazing place for future generations, and his passion for conservation added so much meaning to the tour. Throughout the day, Jose made sure everyone was comfortable, answered every question with enthusiasm, and took us to spectacular viewpoints that we never would have found on our own. His pride in the island was contagious, and by the end of the tour we had an even greater appreciation for the people, landscapes, and efforts to protect this special destination. This adventure was the highlight of our trip! Our family of four, including two teen boys ages 18 and 19 each had our own quads. The boys had never driven one before and did great. The guides were very friendly and offered to take photos at every stop along the way. We had a perfect day of weather for stunning views. Would recommend 10/10.

Such a fun adventure for both adults & kids ages 9 through 46! Faial volcanoes and landscapes full day tour

Excellent full day tour of all the volcanic scenic viewpoints on Faial. Ramiro was a great tour guide and explained everything with lots is energy and enthusiasm. Epic views of the Caldeira Cabeço Gordo in the centre of the island, a 2,000m wide crater that is so big it’s difficult to take it all in. Then we had time to hike around the otherworldly landscape of the Capelhinos volcano, a couple of square kilometres of land that were added by a volcanic eruption just 68 years ago - it was mesmerising to look at. Good lunch at a locals’ restaurant was included. Overall a great day out!

Wonderful West Tour

Joao was a wonderful guide. Funny, and educational. Also a great driver. The tour was lovely, hitting lots of spots in the west. We got cloudy weather on higher elevations spots, but that's not knock on the tour itself. Lunch was amazing with tons of variety, and a surprise because I assumed we were only getting a sandwich. Will definitely travel with them again

Fun experience

The buggy ride was really fun and we ended up seeing several amazing view points even though we couldn’t see the blue and green lakes from the viewpoints as there was too much fog. We did get to ride around them on a trail and it was beautiful. The guide was really good and patient with the group. It was an amazing experience.

Book it!

A great way to see the island without having to rent a car (you would be fine driving around town, but getting to some of the highlight spots in Sete Cidades, for example, are easy to miss or require a half day hike). We had João and Eric for the two days and they were both very friendly and knowledgeable, taking us to many sightseeing/photo ops and local places over the two days. You do travel in a 8 or 10 passenger van though, which allows you to get to some of the harder to navigate spots, but I would recommend motion sickness meds (if you’re like me and haven’t sat in the back of a van in a while) and layers, as the weather changes rapidly. Can’t recommend this tour enough, though, and the lunch option is well worth it to get a real taste of the local cuisine.

We had an amazing experience with Hungry Whales Azores Food Tour. Marco and Lana were an absolute delight. They were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the area, providing an in-depth tour filled with local history, culture, and fabulous food. We sampled a wonderful variety of foods, and they were very accommodating with food allergies, which we truly appreciated. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and the meeting location was easy to find. The experience was so enjoyable that we would absolutely book another tour if we were staying longer. Terrific mix of activities from thermal baths, traditional cooking and eating, to beautiful sites. Our guide, Jose Miguel, is a walking encyclopedia with deep knowledge of Portugal and the Azores, specifically. He delights in teaching. He also knows how to navigate around the fog to optimize the experience. A wonderful tour. Highly recommend.
