Definetely worth the price. The guide was very engaging and full of stories. We couldn't tell the time pass by. I Definetely recommended this tour, we learned a lot about the Greek Culture and history. Anna was very well versed with everything, you should also take the tour of the museum. Overall, one of the best experiences. Athens is not complete without a guided tour.

Enjoyable tour, tour guide Georgina was engaging and knowledgeable. Two hours went past quickly, covering all areas of the Acropolis. Opportunity to ask questions and take photos. Direct access into Acropolis so avoided queues. Headphones worked well. Group size about 15.

Great tour experience!

Sandra_B, May 2026
A wonderful and informative tour of the Acropolis and its museum - highly recommend! Lots of great info (but not too overwhelming)!

Informative, fun, and worth every penny!

Brittany_C, May 2026
Fantastic way to explore the Acropolis! Our guide, Petros, was so well informed and personable. We are both Classical Culture majors and found the tour informative without being too information dense. The stops along the way up the hill were great - we definitely got so much more out of our time there than we would have without our wonderful guide!

Good context

Lara_G, May 2026
Definitely worth it it go see the acropolis with a guide. The context really adds to the experience. We did the version where we got a guide for the site but not the museum and that was perfect. With the context from the site tour and the signs around the museum we didn’t need a guide and it allowed us to do it at our own pace. We also appreciated that since we actually booked the guided tour on the free museum day in Athens the tour operator refunded us the cost of the tickets which were originally included in the viator booking price!

Greg was very knowledgeable and friendly. Well worth it to get the full experience of the museum and Parthenon. We would’ve easily missed things if we had tried to go and do the Parthenon ourselves. Highly recommend.

Petros with an OS was amazing! We learned a lot about the acropolis and he gave us some mythological background for the different sites. Would recommend this tour!

Loved it!!

Karla_H, May 2026
We loved our tour guide. She was very passionate about all of the topics that she was teaching us when it came to history and language, and how Greek languages intertwined with our everyday language, language origins, and how the word had a particular meaning in ancient Greece, but meant something similar or close in today’s language. The walk up the hill is quite steep and rocky, and she was awesome about taking breaks and letting us sit for a moment and talking to us finding little shady spots, etc. She had a great sense of humor. She engaged with us in different ways sometimes regarding our knowledge or where we were from and she was great about intertwining that into how she presented topics or information to us. Would definitely do this again. Would love to have more information on the architecture itself. There was some of that in there, but would love to have had some more.

Amazing Tour!

Mikayla_M, May 2026
Our tour guide was so pleasant and had so much amazing information about the Acropolis. We learned so much and had such a great time learning about the architecture and history of the location!

A great experience!

Gregory_L, May 2026
Great experience, our tour guide is exceptionally knowledgeable and kept the tour moving along. I would recommend this to anyone coming to Athens for vacation.

Well Worth It

Ian_B, May 2026
Our tour guide was great. Katerina used a mixture of humor, history and culture to explain the wonder of the ancient ruins on and around the Acropolis.

Best way to explore the Acropolis

Richard_G, May 2026
This was the best way to experience the Acropolis. Our guide Lydia did a fantastic job who made the tour enjoyable that would appeal all travelers. We learnt so much about the site while traveling at a comfortable pace. We completed the 5pm tour which we would recommend to avoid the peak level of crowds whilst still having plenty of time to explore at the end of the tour.

Having a tour guide was a SMART choice!

Kimberly_C, May 2026
What a fantastic tour! Greg was so knowledgeable of the Acropolis. He added so much historical facts to everything we saw. Adding the museum was a wonderful end to what we saw since it’s the actually pieces that were removed from the structures. Having a tour guide with Viator was a smart choice in Athens!

Acropolis with guide

Kelli_G, May 2026
The guided tour of the Acropolis is the way to go. I wasn’t going to book a guided tour, but changed my mind and it was the best decision. Faye was very informative and knowledgeable. She explained what things were and the history…things we would not have known without a guide. Highly recommend this tour.

Worth the climb

Steven_M, May 2026
The climb up the hill is worth the views! Go in the morning when it’s less crowded. Our guide was very informative!

Amazing tour

Kiki_T, May 2026
Amazing Acropolis tour in Athens with John the Archaeologist! His knowledge, passion, and storytelling truly brought ancient Greece to life. He explained the history in such an engaging and easy-to-understand way, while also sharing fascinating details you would never learn on your own. Walking through the Acropolis with someone so passionate about archaeology made the experience unforgettable. John was friendly, professional, and answered every question with enthusiasm. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Greece who wants a deeper understanding of Greek history and culture!

Phenomenal visit, tour guide was very informative and really added helpful context to the Acropolis. Highly recommend versus visiting without a guide.

Great experience

Lynn_C, May 2026
You need to be agile and sure footed. Bring water. The guide was wonderful. The stone walks are slippery.

Add on the museum and ask for John!

Dina_A, May 2026
We had an amazing tour guide, his name is John, or Ioannis in Greek. He was a masterful storyteller, combining history and Greek god lore into fascinating stories! He asked the important questions and then gave us the answers that made the day extra interesting. He’s a great teacher and a great tour guide. He kept us in the shade as much as possible on the gradual ascent up to the Acropolis. He was caring for all of the members, especially one that had a knee injury. He also was our tour guide through the museum. I definitely recommend additional big this to your tour. The museum replicates the size and layout of the Parthenon with the layout of decorations. John gave us the interesting facts and explanations of the best artifacts. We learned so much, and we actually remembered because he was such an excellent teacher! The tour company was great with communication also. Thank you John!

Our guide was fabulous! We enjoyed his information and humor!

Jola_B, May 2026
Very good tour, easy pace, with lots of rest stops up to the top. Plenty of time to enjoy the visit!

Seriously surpassed my expectations

Amr_A, May 2026
A must-see in Athens, and maybe life in general. The tour guide and their office were amazing. I would definitely recommend going with a guide. The reception at their office was super pleasant and easy, they were well-prepared and all went smoothly. Our guide Evvi was in total command, knew her history and was nice to everyone.

Transported to Ancient Greece

Preston_H, May 2026
I had the good fortune of being guided by Artemis up the Akropolis and around the temples. She was fantastic. It was easy to see her passion for the history of her homeland, and I was very lucky to have been placed in her group. She wove a fascinating tale of every major component of the Akropolis, relating personal stories as well. Thank you for making my trip great!

Great way to experience the Acropolis.

frederickmegan, May 2026
Was a very nice & informative way to experience the Acropolis. Vangelis was an excellent guide, full of knowledge!

Fun!

Alexandra_R, May 2026
Yonis was super nice and informative. He kept us in the shade as long as we could and stopped for periodic water breaks. Yonis truly knew his history and really made it fun for us to learn along the way up to the Acropolis. Thank you!

Walking the Acropolis

David_S, May 2026
It was a great tour. Another couple we were with had a different guide for the same tour. Comparing notes, there was quite a difference between the two guides and what was told. I guess it's the discretion of the tour guide on what they want to tell you. We thought our friends had better information provided to them.
