The bus schedules are pretty accurate and drivers are knowledgeable & helpful and will often alert you to your requested stop! Great overview of the city on Day 1 and easy to go back on the 2nd day to spend longer anywhere you choose at your leisure! Watch for ‘last bus’ times!

Very good overview of the city then the area around Piraeus .The audio was extremely helpful
The main issue is the heat of the sun if you sit with an open top .Choose a covered top where you can still sit on the top level
It was unbearably hot and aircon did not seem to work

Buses stopped at all the major points of interest. Hot time of the year (late July) so the Buses struggled to keep the passengers cool.

Last shuttle from stop one is at 18:30 (6:30 PM). Stops are not well publicized until you get to one and you can pick up a map. We purchased all lines for 3 days but only used 1 day because the first day we didn’t get there until after 6:30. Also no place to store luggage on the way to the port so we couldn’t use the bus to get to the port.

The Hop-On Hop-Off bus in Athens was absolutely worth the money! It was a convenient and stress-free way to see the city’s top attractions while learning about the history along the way. We booked this tour which included the 3 different routes. We did the red bus which was ok and then decided to do the purple one. We were then charged another 5 euros as the fellow at the stop said we weren’t entitled to both ! I was sure we had paid for the three. All I can say about the purple bus trip is that I would have preferred to watch paint dry, it was the most boring trip I have ever done. There were 4 of us on the bus at the end and all the others had obviously done it so they could get to the beach.

We booked tickets for the day we disembarked from our cruise, and did 2 of the 3 routes, stopping off at sites we wanted to look at in more detail.
Great open topped buses, and fab narration.

Bus tour was a great way to travel around the city and choose which stops you get off at! Figured out you could track the buses midway through the tour which made it easier to know when to wait at each stop & not be in the sun for ages! The top section had a covered shaded roof which others don’t making it cool but can still see all the attraction! Would recommend 🌟

We had to wait for an hour to get back to port at 1pm. They give you bad information about when you get off for the Acropolis. The other cheaper buses are just as regular and not as busy. Some of the seats weren’t available so we had to sit upstairs in the Athens sun and got sunburnt. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great option to see the city highlights. Good value for the price. 2 full hours to ride the full loop. Sit up top for the best views. Avoid sitting by the edge as you will be hit by the passing trees (be aware you will be ducking to avoid)

The bus trip around the city was good. That said depending on the traffic conditions the full circuit can take upwards of 2 to 2.5 hours. The circuit does include most of the high lights of central Athens on the Athens line.

There are many languages to choose from when they give you the ear phones. Historical facts were interesting Lots of stops. Sometimes it was not reliably on time. Some of the employees were incredibly friendly and helpful while others seemed annoyed. If you’re working with the public you should be patient. People taking the bus are not familiar with the city and need help. I liked that we could sit on top. The bottom was good to get out of the sun but air conditioning wasn't always running. The map was mostly good but one part was confusing to someone who’s never been to Athens

At every stop we were greeted and helped. We knew where we were at all times. The guides even pulled us into the shade to stay cool. We were told when the next bus was arriving. All guides and drivers were polite and helpful.

Perfect tour for our layover in Athens. We got to see all the major spots in Athens and by riding the bus we were able to really see the city streets and locals in action. We meet at the first stop on the tour and received a voucher for a free beer inside Public and we had a chance to use the restroom also before the start of the tour. Loved the hop on and off option. It’s about a 20 min wait between buses. Definitely recommend.
