Do this tour!

The only complaint I have about this tour is the back and forth of when our tour time was. We booked months in advance for a 10:10 am start time. We ended up having to be at the meeting point at 8:45. It’s my understanding that the change was due to some shifts in management for the Colosseum, but I just felt like the communication from the guides could’ve been a little cleaner to seem less stressful. Otherwise, EXCELLENT tour! Fabio was fantastic, we learned a lot, and we had a wonderful time!

Awesome Colosseum tour must take

This was a complete tour of the colosseum area not just the sites mentioned. So much history during and after the emperor years. Maria was our guide and she was excellent and spoke very good English.

Maria information and flow made the tour so enjoyable. We covered a lot of history in 2hrs time. I left wanting to spend more time with her learning about history, architecture, and current plans for additional renovations. Access to the colosseum tour is critical to really seeing the bones of the “backstage” of the shows.

Excellent Colosseum tour

Fantastic way to see the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill without hours of queuing and wandering around aimlessly! Our guide, Sam, was excellent- so knowledgeable and interesting, with a good sense of humour. Having the headphones linked to his commentary was brilliant as we could hear him wherever we were in the group. Would highly recommend this tour.

Small groups are the way...

Small groups are the way to go for the Colosseum Tour. We had a wonderful tour given by Rosario who told us so much about the history of the building itself and the area and the Forum. This tour helped us skip several long lines and ma waiver around large crowds. Well worth the price.

The Colosseum is well-suited for families with kids.
This is an open-air amphitheater, so bring a hat and sunscreen and wear comfortable shoes and attire.
You may also see the Colosseum referred to as the Flavian Amphitheatre or the Coliseum.
You'll be asked to provide your full name at the time of booking—it will be printed on your individual ticket. Be sure it matches the name on your ID or passport, which you'll need to present at the ticket office to enter the Colosseum.
