Ballooning and Berber breakfast
We arrange ballooning and expected a 6.30am pick up from our Riad (or close to). We received a WhatsApp message stating that the pick up was 5.30am from a pickup point 25mins away - navigating through the Souk. We were picked up on time and drove out of town. We were given a pastry and coffee (not our Berber breakfast) and asked to wait. We eventually got onto our balloon. Our captain was great, informative, polite and helpful. She took us up to about 1000m and the views were great. We could even see the Koutoubia Mosque in the distance. I felt safe and the ride lasted a decent amount of time. We braced for landing and were picked up and taken for our Berber breakfast: Mint tea, breads, eggs, olives and biscuits. Overall, my son and I had a great time even if the pick up time and location was a little annoying. Big 👍 to our captain.

Tangiers, the only way to see it !!
Don’t look any further, this is the excursion for you! Karim and his team were fantastic! They had a clean Mercedes van and the best itinerary for our private tour. They literally made us feel like family. We will be back and definitely use Karim and his company again!!!

Off we blew
It was an early start. We were collected before 05:00. The driver was friendly and the vehicle clean and well maintained. Despite only one other stop the drive was a good 40 minutes down every decreasing roads. The trip out into the bondu was in total darkness once we left the city but not overly rough despite the roads when passing. We reached the site and it was well presented in the dark, the lighting and buildings reminiscent of old airfield. Tea was served as all flyers arrived and the balloons were inflated. We were allocated our balloons and a compartment and climbed in. There was a safety briefing and the crew explained the flight. No smoking was stressed as the six large propane tanks didnt seem to be a bit of a clue for the hardened tabbers. We took off slowly and we were the last balloon from our area to get airbourne. The surrounding area had multiple sites all with balloons in various stages of inflation. The sunrise was unspectacular due to the haze , which also limited tge views of the mountains but it was still worth seeing. The crew kept us informed of the flights progress and altitude as well as what we could see. The whole thing was so still and quiet until the roar ofcthe propane burners. The biggest surprise was it was still quite warm and shorts and a sweat top was warm enough , though the burner did help too. We flew for just over an hour and slowly descended just before a dried out riverbed. We were told to adopt the landing position and as we hit first we were pounced upon by the team from the support vehicle , the sudden appearance of their hands and faces was a what the ......moment. They grabbed and supported the basket working to keep it upright till we were eventually stable and the balloon tethered to the land-rover. We had a few photos and the vans arrived to take us back to the balloon base for breakfast. The food was fruit, olives , eggs, bread and flatbread, with a mint tea. It was pleasant enough and again the team were warm and friendly. After breakfast we returned in the vans with the roads not quite as adventurous in daylight. So glad we did this. It came across as very well organised and delivered exactly what the advert said.

Wonderful day trip!
A memorable day trip to the Atlas Mountains and Ourika Valley! A special thank you to Amina who was a warm, knowledgeable, and deeply engaging guide. From navigating the scenic mountain trails to sharing stories about village life, she made us feel completely cared for every step of the way. The views, the delicious lunch by the river, and her personal touches made this experience truly lovely. We would definitely recommend this trip.
