Tuk Tuk review

We had such a great experience on our tuk-tuk tour! We booked the 1-hour tour, which was the perfect length for our family and allowed our 2.5-year-old to enjoy the experience without getting restless. If it had been just adults (or without a toddler), we easily would have booked a longer tour! Our guide, José Miguel, was extremely friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. He shared so much interesting history along the way and made the whole experience enjoyable and relaxed. We would absolutely recommend this tour, especially José Miguel as a guide! A great way to see and learn about Lisbon without having to tackle all the hills on foot. 🇵🇹

Great Overview of Lisbon

We had a day and 3/4 in Lisbon on our cruise. We decided to take the more extensive all-day tour to nearby Sintra on Day 1 so that we didn’t have to worry about a return time. This basically left us a half day to see Lisbon - I know, not enough time but choices have to be made. We found a half-day morning tour of Lisbon in a “tuk tuk” (like a larger golf cart) available through ColourTrip (they also have an all-day version if you want to do that on your Day 1). This tour really fit the bill for us. It was informative and fun and covered all the major areas in town. There are scheduled stops to see certain sights but we lucked out - we were the only ones signed up for that short tuk tuk tour in the morning and so it became more like our own private tour. Our guide - Rui Forte - was very knowledgeable about Lisbon history and also (since it was now our own private tour!) very flexible on our stops. For some we lingered for photos and shopping; on others we asked to move on to the next stop. Rui was very attentive to our needs and an engaging person to spend the morning with. As our trip ended, Rui asked if we wanted to be dropped off for some local cuisine for lunch or returned to our ship. As we had dined out locally twice on Day 1, we elected to get back (and the ship has an earlier departure on Day 2). If this shorter schedule fills your needs, you can hire ColourTrip without worry. Wonderful way to see Lisbon!

Lisbon is a very difficult city to see on foot. The Tuk Tuk allowed us to see the entire city in only 4 hours. We then knew what we wanted to go back and see if necessary. Our guide Rueben was from Portugal and was exceptional! He was very knowledgable, polite and a pleasure to spend the day with in Lisbon. Highly recommend the Tuk Tuk and our guide, Rueben!

A Must to do!

WOW! Our tour guide, Jlo made this tour exceptional!’ His wit, knowledge and overall personality was amazing! Highly recommend. I also recommend buying the tickets with the tour company, same price online and offers ease. I would have appreciated a bit more time in the town of Sintra, very charming. Cascia was brilliant! Bring Euros to enjoy a spectacular lunch at the recommended restaurant (fr Jlo) and then stroll down to the water to enjoy some live music!

The day went quickly...

The day went quickly moving from place to place. There are additional costs if 12 euro to visit outside of palace and 4.50euro if you want to take shuttle bus instead of walking uphill. Happy with the places we chose. The tour guide was knowledgeable and the tour ran on time.

The only way to see Lisbon

This is the only way to see Lisbon. Walking would be arduous to get all the places. Safe, comfortable, great tour guide (Antonio) . He made it fun, interesting, and even let us stop to get Bifanas. Such a great day even in the rain. And you can get cheaper tuk tuk "guides" on the street but this company has the best vehicles, microphone on board and guides. Worth it.

Fantastic!!!

It was the absolute best day! A trip highlight for sure. Our tour guide Ricardo was phenomenal and great with the kids! He went out of his way to entertain us and the kids. Learned so much! Ricardo was able to get us into the palace with little wait time too which was such a plus as the line to get in was at least a one to hour wait. He took us to great spots in Cascais and Belém too. So glad we choose this tour! Highly recommend !

Great guide and tour

Great guide in Beatrice, who was flawless in her delivery of the Lisbon’s history. She delivered the information in an interesting and lively manner as we travelled in Baxia and neighboring areas. She showed us shortcuts to avoid all the steps and inclines. An excellent tour I highly recommend.
