Fabulous Tour
Visiting the Ruins was a real treat. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. The RC shopping/pool area was hopping due to 3 ships being in port at the same time. We left and went to town. Had a great lunch on the beach and did some fun sbopping. Fun day.

Awesome
Soo much fun! We just did this excursion during our cruise trip. My kids still speak about the event and the lagoon was so beautiful. We learn so much during our private tour with our guide. It is about 1 hr and 10 min long. Our driver pick us up at the port and stops midway to pick up a pineapple and for the kids to stretch and get some snack for the road. Love the whole experience.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about Mayan culture and history. Drive out is about 80 minutes and they bring plenty of water for hot days. After the tour our guide gave us a recommendation for good local food in Mahahual and it didn’t disappoint.

Our Favorite Excursion
This cooking class was so much fun! My boyfriend and I were sailing on MSC and decided to book our excursion outside of the cruise line to save some money. We saw this cooking class and decided it would be fun to give it a go. We got a taxi and went about 10 minutes away from the port to a strip of shops and restaurants. Even though we left the port we still felt extremely safe. When we entered, the staff at Cafe Jaguar were happy and greeting us with smiles. They offered us waters and gave us an apron we could keep! They gave us a little history about the town of Mahahual and the dishes we prepared. All of the ingredients were fresh, clean, and delicious. At the end they gave us some spices to keep and the recipe to make it at home! This cooking class was so much fun and truly felt like we got to learn a little bit about the history of the town while doing.

Mixing Caribbean shores with ancient Maya culture, Costa Maya offers equal opportunities for sightseeing and soaking up the sun. Costa Maya excursions transport you deep into the jungle to the 3,000-year-old Chacchoben Ruins to learn about one of the Maya empire’s most important ceremonial centers. Other tours whisk you into the water at the Bacalar Lagoon—known as the Lake of Seven Colors, thanks to its iridescent hues—and luxury beach clubs where you can enjoy massages and mojitos by the Caribbean Sea.
