Brianna was absolutely incredible — calm, professional, easygoing, and always focused on keeping everyone safe and comfortable while still making sure we had an unforgettable adventure. She took us to multiple snorkeling spots where we saw stunning marine life and beautiful coral formations. You can genuinely tell she loves what she does and cares deeply about giving guests an amazing experience. The drinks and snacks were such a nice touch, especially the fresh chips and guacamole made by the captain — absolutely delicious! Snorkeling the second largest reef in the world is truly a must-do when visiting Costa Maya, and this family-owned business made it feel personal, authentic, and special. Such a Thrilling Time

The whole experience was amazing. The hosts were super accommodating working with my Spanglish and still providing such a pleasant time. Everything was explained in detail and matched the itinerary. The host and hostess made sure we were setup and comfortable, gave us time, and then coordinated the snorkeling experience. I have never been until this excursion and I had a great time. Balthazar and Ernesto explained everything and Ernesto pointed out so many different fish and sea animals. Getting back, the massage was amazing, and the waiter did a phenomenal job catering to us. He made sure we constantly had drinks and deconflcited times to ensure we maximized the time we had. This entire experience was well worth the price and the entire team of people were so friendly and accommodating. I will definitely be coming back to Pitaya Beach Club the next time I come to Costa Maya!

An interesting excursion in Costa Maya

This excursion was fun and interesting. Carlos, our guide, was quite knowledgeable about the historical sites and the overall history of the Mayan people. We chose to return to the ship after visiting the ruins but those who continued on for the beach break reported having a good time. We would definitely recommend this excursion.

Raphael took us on a wonderful tour through the mayan ruins. He provided cold drinks and snacks and was very professional and informative. We also went to a fruit stand where we had the best pineapple and a salsa stand where I picked up a few bottles for myself and others. We loved this excursion from our MSC cruise.

A great experience - Highly recommend!

This was a fantastic excursion experience, which included a nice range of activities. My husband and I really enjoyed our tour of the historic Mayan ruins, and our tour guide Juan did a fantastic job explaining the history behind it. Lunch was delicious; we had a decent variety of authentic dishes to choose from. Bacalar was also great, the water was beautiful and we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy ourselves. The entire excursion was very well organized and our time was managed well. We highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting Costa Maya.

Best memories made!

My husband, two teenagers, and myself did this experience this past week. It was amazing! Our guide Juan was friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome. He and the boat Captain took us on a fantastic tour and the swimming was a dream. They brought plenty of drinks and snacks and even bought a fresh pineapple and mango on the way for us to enjoy. We'll definitely do this again when we visit again.

The tour guide and driver...

The tour guide and driver went above and beyond. While we were waiting for the other party to show up at the van, they actually took us to a location near the port we wanted to visit just to make sure we wouldn’t miss it. They provided beer and tequila shots at no extra charge and stopped and got us honey pineapple to try. We will ALWAYS use this company for our tour needs if they offer it.

Be sure that you will actually have a full 8 hour experience. The food was great, service was great! The vendors peddling all the goodies was a little overwhelming when we were trying to enjoy the time there. And some shops closed up before we were able to visit.

Beautiful reef and great guides

We had a great experience on this tour. The meeting point at La Diosa del Mar was easy to get to with a short taxi ride from the cruise port, and the staff was friendly and organized. The boat ride out to the reef was quick, and the guides made everyone feel comfortable in the water. While we didn’t see turtles, we did see stingrays, trumpet fish, tons of coral, and a lot of other sea life. The water was clear and calm, which made it really enjoyable even for beginners. The guides stayed close, pointed things out, and made sure everyone was safe the whole time. Overall, it was a fun and well-run excursion and a great way to experience Costa Maya. I would definitely recommend it.

Chacchoben worth it! CM Tours, great job!

We took this excursion as part of an extended family cruise trip. Great experience! Glad we chose this experience. Chacchoben is amazing. CM Tours is a great company. So glad we found this experience in Viator. Must do if taking this tour from the port: Make sure to follow the map provided to get outside the port to the tour company building. Plan 30 minutes to be safe. It took my husband and I about 15 minutes and we stopped to take a few pictures. But we followed the map carefully. Ismael, our guide, was fantastic. If we could give him more than 5 stars we would. Victor, the driver, did great. Drove safely. We felt safe throughout. Our trip was 45 minutes each way. 3.5 hours total tour. The van was also modern, had working seatbelts and AC. There were four of us on this tour: me, husband, another couple, also from our cruise. We didn’t know them until we took the excursion. Chacchoben site is worth it. Super impressive. Definitely a must visit. We would definitely go again. A shout out to our driver and guide; on the way back we got to stop at a pineapple vendor stand and get fresh pineapple, at no additional cost— Costa Maya is a large producer of pineapple. We visited in early April, for reference. Perhaps the sweetest pineapple we ever had. If you are traveling on a cruise, please know the port area is very nice, but not near any major sites.. Would highly recommend a planned ahead excursion to make the best of your visit. Disclosures for anyone with physical disabilities: Chacchoben can be visited by someone on a wheelchair— person can see parts of the site—but the visit will be limited. Also the ground is mostly okay but not perfectly flat. In order to see some amazing things We climbed multiple steps. My husband and I did fine. We are very mobile, but someone not as mobile may have to adjust part of the experience. Definitely talk to your tour company ahead of schedule, if you have someone in your party with a disability or lacking mobility.

Thumbs Up for Native Choice Tours & Edder

We had a fantastic day with Edder and leaves so much about the Mayan culture. After a slightly delayed start due to a large group that didn't want to split up on two buses, we drive to Chacchoben and had an amazing tour. We then visited the village for a tasty Mayan lunch. Everything about the tour was top notch. We highly recommend Native Choice Tours That being said, I will never book with Viator again. We added two friends to our booking and paid in advance. When we arrived they were not on the list and the tour was full. Viator customer service did nothing to help us. Thankfully, the tour operator has two no shows and they were able to join and had to pay AGAIN. Eight thumbs down for Viator.
