Was really great! It was Shelly in water def needed shoes. Yes water wasn't clear at beach front but to be expected this time of year! Could go out 15' and get clear water or go to reef. Host was fantastic. Def be back. And can rent huts for over night stays. We've been around world and didn't disappoint. Food was amazing as well!

It’s fantastic! Don’t freak out by the drive to seemingly, nowhere! Once you’re there it’s simply paradise. Teresa is lovely! We had the entire place to ourselves for the day! The walk from the boat to the pick up is a bit long but you go past the main entrance and the driver is there. Give yourself about 30 minutes from the boat to the pick up.

    Once out of cruise port,...

    Kirk_C, May 2026
Once out of cruise port, it was very easy to find the meeting location. We were the only ones at the beach that day. Teresa was amazing - and made us the best meal on our trip! Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the water as much as we would have liked because there was a lot of sargasso on shore and in water (the only reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5).

    Pretty Good

a Tripadvisor company RB Here’s a preview of your review Make sure everything looks right Pretty Good Rachel_B, May 2026 I was traveling solo and wanted to be somewhere off the beaten path with no crowds, and this fit the bill. Even though I just needed 1 day pass, Viator made me purchase 2. For that reason, I don't think the experience was worth the price I paid. Had I just bought 1 ticket, the price is probably a good value. I had a little difficulty finding the driver, so I wish the directions would have been more explicit. When I left the boat, it took me 15 minutes at a brisk peace to find my way out of the port shops to the Mayan pyramid. The port is designed to be a maze that keeps you in the shopping district. I just kept asking directions to the parking lot, and helpful storekeepers pointed me on my way. When I left the gates of the parking lot, I kept walking straight to the pyramid. The ride service was to the right rear of the pyramid, and my name was written on a white board in front of the pavilion. The driver came quickly and the ride was about 30 minutes. The location is remote, but beautiful. Even if there was a lot of sargassum on the shore, this location is about natural surroundings and quiet enjoyment. No inflatables, rowdy crowds, or big menus. The guacamole, shrimp ceviche, and pork tacos were divine, as was the fresh pina colada. I had the best mango of my life here! Everyone was kind and solicitous. The reason for 4 stars is the price and seaweed.

    Paradise!!

This was an unexpected perfect day!!! We happen to have the entire beach to ourselves and the hospitality and beach were perfect!

    Absolutely lovely

Loved everything about it. My daughter and I were the sole people as far as the eye can see. Our hostess is a great cook. We enjoyed the whole experience!

    Great staff

    XAVIER_A, Dec 2025
The beach is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. I did get a lot sand mite bites at this particular beach in the water. The food and drinks were great. One things to keep in mind the meet up spot for Trip Advisor and Viator is about one mile from where the ship is located and the beach is about 30 min. from meet up point.

Finding the driver was a little difficult as you had to walk a distance but it was worth the walk and the long 30 minute drive. Small beach with a great view. Hostess was very friendly and served refreshments while you just relaxed. Was able to ride the kayak out to the reef and it was very private and we are the only ones there for a while. Perfect lazy day! Thank you!

    Exclusive Beach Experience

    Tara_F, Nov 2025
Upon arriving at Xahuayxol Private Beach my friend and I were pleasantly surprised to find out we had the whole place to ourselves! Teresa took great care of us with fantastic food and a steady flow of drinks. The ceviche was incredible, so fresh! Tiga, her dog helped us feel more at home. The ride to and from was fun as well since the driver had beers for us. 😃

    It’s ok

    pup_r, Oct 2025
Great trip the van was super clean and the beach was private. Be ready to walk a long ways to get to them. The lady that ran the beach and restaurant was awesome the food was great. The worst apart was the water. It was not clear due to sea weed and the beach stink. I assume because of sea weed. I’m not sure it was worth the price and I do not know if we would do it again

    Don’t go

    Robin_M, Oct 2025
My sister & I got off cruise ship and walked through 2 gates with barbed wire & guards. Kept texting the contact until a taxi showed up. Drove us 35 minutes down a deserted road with no WiFi. When we arrived there was NOBODY around. Opened the taxi door mosquitos immediately started biting & the smell of rotting sargassum was awful. The water looked like coffee with 3 feet of sargassum to even get to the water. The lounge chairs were on the ground with paint chipping off them. Fear set in and luckily we were able to grab our taxi driver before he left! I’ll give it 1 star since the driver informed the company and Viator refunded us before we got back on the ship. Feeling grateful we weren’t the next story on dateline!!

By far the most relaxing experience!

    Christopher_N, Sep 2025
This experience was the best thing we could have chosen for our day in Costa Maya. The drive there was off the beaten path so we just knew it would be spectacular, and it WAS! Teresa makes the freshest drinks, our cups were never empty! The food was amazing! The views were amazing! The whole vibe of this spot was perfect for a day of relaxing by the water. Lots of shade too! They had kayaks and snorkel gear, lots of photo oops, great service and seclusion. It was just fantastic!

Best away from the crowd beach experience

    Catie_B, Sep 2025
We were whisked away by personal taxi to the most beautiful beach. Sitting at tables, a swing, or a beach chair you can enjoy the view and the breeze. Kayaks and snorkel gear were available if you wanted to venture out towards the reef. The reef breaks the waves coming in, so the ocean is so calm in this area. While you are enjoying the beach, you are being brought margaritas or Pina coladas. The food starts with wonderful nachos and homemade salsa and guacamole. Following the nachos are some conchinita tacos and beef tacos. The tacos are fabulous. The ride is about 25 mins to get there, but it is worth the time. Also, bring some water shoes as the reef rocks are hard on your feet.

    Rustic Peaceful Paradise

    Robert_R, Sep 2025
This is an authentic, natural, and isolated slice of heaven. It’s off the beaten path and feels like it is in the middle of nowhere- but beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing! Teresa was a wonderful hostess- she provided us with great drinks, amazing appetizers of guacamole, pico de gallo, and ceviche, along with a delicious lunch. If you are somewhat adventurous and looking for something quiet and quaint this is the place!

    Cathy_S, Aug 2025
It is about 25 minutes from port, but it was well worth the privacy. Recommend water shoes. We enjoyed the drinks and kayaks the most.

    Beautiful set up

    Shannon_W, Aug 2025
This is a great experience. The service it top notch, the food is amazing and my drink was never empty. I can see where this could be an absolutely phenomenal experience - however we unfortunately experienced the nasty seaweed that was washed up on shore and by the end of the day it filled up the water near the shore going out about 30 feet. I don’t want to discount this experience because it is very well set up and honestly I could see where it could be a gorgeous white beach - so the pictures don’t lie. The seaweed is out of her control - but rating the experience overall it can’t be ignored. There are a lot of places to relax, nice shade and two very friendly beach dogs that made us feel welcome. The hostess is a great hostess with food and drinks. The bathrooms are clean. There is a reef that makes the area perfect for kayaking and snorkeling. We took the kayaks out which was fun. It is very shallow. I didn’t snorkel. They only had the one piece masks with snorkels that I find hard to use. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves but couldn’t help being a little disappointed by the shoreline covered by the seaweed (smells horrible and covered with bugs). Would love to have an opportunity to come back at a different time of year.

    Low-key private paradise

    GuyDuane_P, Aug 2025
For first-timers on this excursion, the walk from the cruise port seems to take forever, but once you get to the meeting point, it's smooth sailing! The drive is about 20 mins and Mexico bumpy, but in a vehicle with AC. Trust the process and, before you know it, you'll be on a private beach with wonderful personal attention! This was our third booking and Theresa spoiled us, as always! Yes, there was seaweed, but that's common along the Mexico shore right now. It was calm enough for kayaks, but we preferred to lounge in the sun, search for shells, and enjoy good company. AWESOME homemade margaritas, ceviche, guacamole, and beef and pastor tacos! Tequila shots, too! Theresa is a lovely host and easy to converse with. Clean bathrooms and an outside shower to rinse off in case you get sandy.

We had a great time at this little resort! Getting out of the port is confusing, but most workers will direct you where to go. It’s very secluded (took a taxi 30 mins through the jungle), which was nerve wracking at first but ended up being nice after being on the cruise ship. Drinks and food included - ceviche was amazing! Water still had a lot of seaweed, but there was a little area for us to wade in. They had kayaks for us to take out and look at the reefs, which was cool.

Don’t get discouraged by the long drive, book the tour! Worth the drive.

    Karen_E, Jul 2025
Don’t get discouraged by the long drive, it’s worth it. Keep in kind this is a private eco tourism beach, the drive is 35 minutes and the road looks empty but in well maintained. When you arrive everything looks abandoned but it’s not. Food is delicious, tequila amazing and the service even better!

The best stop of our cruise!

    David_W, Jul 2025
First and foremost, DO NOT LISTEN TO OTHER REVIEWS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SEAWEED!!! It is a common thing all over Costa Maya. If you want go swim/snorkel at this location, simply walk the 6 feet through it. It is no big deal! From there you’ll enjoy beautiful water and pretty decent snorkeling. Basically this property is amazing for two simple things….1. The TOP NOTCH service by Teresa and her staff, and 2. The relaxation you get from the panoramic views and ocean breeze you get from your seaside table and chairs. I wish we could have brought home the delicious guacamole, ceviche, fresh made tortilla chips, and tacos that we were served. It was the BEST food of our trip! The drinks were also so good and just kept coming and coming. Another good thing was that the bathrooms were well-maintained and clean. I also can’t forget to mention Carmella and Tiga, the sweetest/friendliest beach dogs who kept us company while we were there. Is this property a significant distance from the port? Yes, but the private transportation (taxi) we had was awesome (shout out to Aguilar Pech for being the best driver who was willing to take us to local artisans (not port stores) to make a few purchases before heading back to the ship). We did not want our day to end! We will DEFINITELY be back to see Teresa when we return to Costa Maya next year!

    No attractive beach

    Christian_C, Jul 2025
Excellent food, drink, and service! However, the beach access to the ocean was blocked by mounds of brown seaweed infested with insects. This barrier was a turn-off from swimming. If you want to build sand castles and play in the ocean, this is not for you. If you want to relax without distractions, this is it. Additionally, it was way outside the port gate, so there's a bit of a walk to get your private transportation.

    Wonderful private beach excursion!

    Derek_E, Jul 2025
Fantastic private beach experience. Teresa was a great host. The food was simple yet delicious. The drinks were constant - she was swapping out the margaritas as soon as the ice melted for a fresh one! And the setting was perfect if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of a big cruise ship tour. It’s a 25 minute drive through the jungle to get there and there’s still going to be seaweed just like anywhere else in Mexico but it was an amazing experience.

    Awesome beach.

    BRIAN_H, Jul 2025
Beautiful private beach. Well secluded and quiet. Food was amazing. The ceviche was the best I have ever had, and the guacamole was up there as well. The dogs are super friendly and will immediately greet you and hang out with you the whole time. The snorkeling is actually really good! The beach is located on a protected reef area with quite a bit of very shallow water. You can stand up in most of it, even when you are quite a way from shore. There is a lot of wildlife under the water as well. There is kelp washing up on the shore, but that is very typical for the area. Don't let that prevent you from enjoying this wonderful area!!!

    Authentic get away.

    Calvin_H, Jun 2025
The host are fantastic From taxi to and from the beach all where friendly and helpful. At first the travel to beach was questionable as not much to see. However as soon as we got to the private beach th host made us feel so welcome. Drinks are great. Food was very enjoyable. The beach area could be cleaned up some. Lots of sea weed type debris but there has been lots of storms lately. Still yet for my wife and I it was great. Only 7 people total plus two host. Can’t beat it.

    What a day! 🥳🏝️

    Jessica_M, May 2025
This place is beautiful! It was a welcome quiet space away from the cruise ship. My husband and I went with our friends and we had a wonderful time. The food and drinks were excellent. The staff was warm, kind, welcoming, attentive, and made the day what it was. Muchos gracias for everything!
