This makes costa maya worth getting off the ship!
This is an absolute MUST DO when visiting Costa Maya. Listen, everyone gets off that ship to head to Krazy Lobster.. and that’s fun —AFTER a massage! They’re right next door! Best kept secret in Costa Maya. I was traveling with my mom and happened upon this place- and I’m so grateful I did. This made our trip so special!!!! Breezy upstairs loft with the beach right outside—paradise!!!! You think it will be sweaty and hot, and it’s not. The aromatherapy was wonderful. My mom is a bit shy but once you’re on the table you can undo your swim top privately. It’s a room of several beds so it’s not private but once you’re on that table you feel like the only person in the world! I wanted to marry Victor— he was MAGIC!!!! Priced low enough so you can tip generously and still have money to eat and drink next door!!! Take a taxi— it just takes a few minutes and you’ll be in heaven! I highly recommend this place, my personal new favorite massage therapist, Victor, and a couple hours at the beach/restaurants next door. Costa Maya doesn't have to be a disappointing port stop with a bunch of souvenir shops and high pressure sales people! Go outside the port and discover the best of Costa Maya! I’m planning my next cruise with my girlfriends with a stop in Costa Maya just for another fantastic massage! Yes, it’s truly that good!

Absolutely Fabulous Private Tour — Our Favorite Excursion of the Cruise!
Our Bacalar Lagoon excursion was absolutely fabulous and easily one of the highlights of our entire cruise! From beginning to end, the experience felt personal, relaxed, and tailored specifically to our family. Our tour guide, Yocelyn, was wonderful. We were traveling as a family of six, and one of the things we appreciated most was that this was truly a private tour— it was just our family. Yocelyn was extremely accommodating and allowed us to enjoy the day at our own pace. We weren't particularly interested in spending a lot of time at the Mayan stops and really wanted to maximize our time at the lagoon. She listened to what we wanted and adjusted the itinerary accordingly. That flexibility made such a difference and made the excursion feel like it was designed specifically for us. We also have to thank Aquino, our driver, and Tony, our captain, who helped make the day so memorable. We initially had a mix-up between ship time and local time, and arrived late. We were afraid we had missed our tour, but the team was incredibly kind and gracious about the situation. We were so thankful that they accommodated us, because we would have missed what ended up being our favorite excursion! Bacalar itself was breathtaking. The beautiful water and peaceful atmosphere were everything we hoped for and more. We also stopped at a local market where fresh pineapples were purchased, and later Captain Tony cut them up and served them with Tajín. Such a simple touch, but it was absolutely delicious and made the experience feel even more authentic. The fish tacos were fabulous, and the unlimited tequila certainly didn't hurt either! 😂 Another thing we loved was how willing everyone was to help us capture our memories. Yocelyn patiently took as many pictures as we wanted—and trust me, our family wanted plenty of pictures and plenty of poses! 😂 We never felt rushed or like we were inconveniencing anyone. What made this excursion stand out was the combination of the gorgeous lagoon, great food and drinks, wonderful service, and the freedom that came with having a private tour. Instead of feeling like we were following a rigid schedule with a large group, we were able to focus on what our family actually wanted to experience. Yocleyn, Aquino, and Tony truly gave our family a day we will remember for years to come. If you're visiting Costa Maya and considering an excursion to Bacalar Lagoon, we highly recommend this experience. We would absolutely do it again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars from our entire family!

We had an incredible time...
We had an incredible time with Jerry, Hasan, and Francisco. They were prompt, communicated everything clearly and promptly, and guided us from our meeting point until we were back at port. They greeted us with water, introduced themselves, drove us around an hour into Baccalar while introducing and sharing the culture of the region, stopped for pictures, showed us the lagoon where we swam, fed us, and returned us to port with plenty of time to spare.

Mixing Caribbean shores with ancient Maya culture, Costa Maya offers equal opportunities for sightseeing and soaking up the sun. Costa Maya excursions transport you deep into the jungle to the 3,000-year-old Chacchoben Ruins to learn about one of the Maya empire’s most important ceremonial centers. Other tours whisk you into the water at the Bacalar Lagoon—known as the Lake of Seven Colors, thanks to its iridescent hues—and luxury beach clubs where you can enjoy massages and mojitos by the Caribbean Sea.
