A great tour to start the weekend in Bordeaux

We had a fantastic time on the Bordeaux Old Town Food and Wine tour! Alex was knowledgeable about the history, architecture, and culture of Bordeaux, and he weaved in his good sense of humor. He tailored the tour to our preferences while pushing us to expand our repertoire of cheeses and wine. The visits to the local bakery, cheese shop, butcher, canneles, pastry, and wine shops made for a fun and excellent pairing of food and wines for our final event! Since this was our first afternoon in Bordeaux, the tour was instrumental in our planning of sites and shops to see over the next two days — which included returning to these shops again. Amazing tour!

We learned so much about the regional wines, wine-making in general, and why vintages can vary so much year to year. The tour included the beautiful village of St Emilio, including some free time there. Francois was a fantastic guide (an accomplished sommelier), who was keenly interested in sharing his knowledge. I had Ello and she was an...

I had Ello and she was an amazing tour guide! We had a group of eight and the meeting point was well described and the Ello introduced herself and the group went around to intro themselves as well. We went off in a air conditioned van to first the winery. The winery was in such a cute chateau. We got to learn about the area and the bordeaux grapes and then had a class and tasting with a sommelier who was very knowledgeable. The cheese, chocolate and cured meat platters were delicious. Since I brought my two kids, Ello also offered to play a game with them but they opted to stay and learn about wine and sip on grape juice with the rest of the group. After the wine tasting, Ello took us around St Emilion the city and we went to some great viewpoints and then to see a wine cave/cellar since it was so hot outside. She was very flexible in the plans and let us choose the activity since we were supposed to climb some stairs but we changed the plans due to the heat there. After that, she drive us back and everything ended on time. Highly recommend this activity!

Excellent tour. Our guide Paula was punctual, friendly, and very knowledgeable about wine and Bordeaux. We had 3 amazing tastings at very different venues and we learned a lot. The guide arranged for a picnic lunch after the second tasting, which was a nice charcuterie platter with wine. The can was small and air conditioned, which was very much appreciated in this heat wave. I highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in wine (beginner to expert)

I attended this half day Saint Émilion tour with my mother. Sonya our guide was absolutely brilliant. Her deep knowledge of saint emillion, Bordeaux, history, wines, the soil the grapes are grown…all in all, was incredibly easy to follow and very interesting. She was attentive with time, any breaks needed for food, coffee and was always friendly for any questions or queries. The early morning session was great and a great choice given how busy saint emilion gets with tourists after 10am. Highly highly recommend, completely worth the money!

We visited 3 beautiful chateaus and the medieval town with a wine tasting in the wine shop as well. The amount of wine and food for the price was reasonable. All places shipped to USA. The day was long but totally worth it if you are looking to do both banks in one day. We hesitated, but are very happy we chose to do this.

Terrific Wine Tasting & History Tour

We visited a small chateau about an hour from Bordeaux. During the van ride, our knowledgeable tour guide kept us entertained the entire time. We tasted four great wines, learned about the process of making wine, and on our way home, explored a lovely town called Saint-Emilion where we did a little shopping and had some sorbet. Overall, it was a lovely four-hour afternoon excursion!

We loved our experience with Rustic Vines! Our tour guide, intern Sam, was knowledgeable, friendly and helped make our day so fun. With the heatwave, we were the only ones booked for the day so we ended up on a private tour. Sam kept us well-hydrated and even indulged us on a few side quests for ice cream and old church viewings. Zipping through the countryside on bikes is 100% the best way to see all the appellations and appreciate changes in the terrain and see the growing methods up close. We loved each winery tour and tasting and the visit to the wine merchant was incredibly informative. 12/10, would book again and again!

Hugo is the best

The tour was well organized and we had a good time. We went on a Monday and some shops in Saint-Émilion were closed, but we did not have time to see everything anyways so that did not affect our visit. Mostly red wines for the tastings and they were all great. You have the opportunity to buy the wines afterwards. Our tour guide Hugo was super funny, friendly and had the best moustache. I would recommend this tour to others.
