An absolutely unforgettable experience! Jose picked us up directly at our hotel, which made the entire day so easy and relaxing since we didn’t have to worry about driving. From there, he took us to three wineries, each offering a completely different experience and style of Rioja wine. Everything we tasted was delicious. Jose is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the region. He explained the history of Rioja wine, how the aging classifications and wine labels work, and what all the terminology actually means. We even stopped at a vineyard to walk among the vines and see the grapes up close. But the highlight was ending the day at Jose’s own small winery. It has been beautifully renovated and is such a charming, special place. He prepared an incredible multi-course, home-cooked meal paired with his own wines. It was absolutely fantastic. What makes this experience truly special is Jose himself. You can feel how much he cares about Rioja, its traditions, and the small family wineries that have been part of the region for generations. Hearing about the work he’s doing to help preserve these local wineries and keep them from being swallowed up by large corporations was genuinely moving. His passion and dedication are something you don’t come across every day. It honestly brought a tear to my eye. We spent the day with him from around 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and he finished by dropping us back at our hotel. Every detail was thoughtful, personal, and welcoming. This wasn’t just a wine tour; it was a chance to experience the heart and soul of Rioja through someone who truly loves what he does. We couldn’t recommend Jose enough. One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Spain!
